PICS: Ceramic Pro 9H - a new product from Europe not yet in the UK
coldel replied to stuartzg's topic in Car Detailing
I use Supernatural Wax, £15 for a panel pot is good for a couple of coats of the car. Wasso spent something like 7 hours prepping and polishing my Zed a few years back, finished it up with Supernatural...results speak for themselves I think... -
Funnily enough the company that sells this stuff 'claims' that it doesn't reduce light output due to its technology (although doesn't actually explain what this technology is apart from making up a few other words that end with 'ology' - I put some on the front and for sure did reduce output, I would estimate by around 40% - its basically a plastic black material, by default it MUST absorb light being projected at it. Took mine off after a few weeks.

Happy B Day mate have a good un!

Should get 10 years for that if they ever work out who it was. Utterly ridiculous could have killed a lot of people.

For me though the issue is age, he is 20, plenty of years left in him, look at Zaha who was almost impossible to mark and an absolute nightmare to defend against has only just resurfaced after sitting on the bench, in fact his ability when I last saw him he had gone backwards. There are plenty of young players that try to make that big jump too early and flounder, Liverpool are hardly lower league team, he can make his way to 22/23 be much more consistent and accomplished a player. How would Harry Kane have developed this year if he had 5 starts and 10 sub appearances sitting on the Chelsea bench? If anything he is a better player than Sterling yet Sterling is talking about wanting to play for title winning teams, he clearly is getting bad advice by people looking to make money out of him, not him making money out of his own talent.
-
Rooney was twice the player of Sterling at 17 than Sterling is at 20 - again just my opinion though. Also Man Utd are more likely to progress young players and have a history of it, Sterling is looking at either Chelsea or City if he wants trophies i.e. Premier League neither team he will get a starting berth in.

ooooh 7000 posts, go me

Yes hard to predict the future, however just my opinion that this current mindset of wanting a trophy winning side is not his own, and that he is being shoved in that direction. He was hardly a stand out performer when Liverpool exited Europe this year. In terms of injury, all the players are insured, they get massive payouts if they have something career ending. I remember Jermaine Defoe doing the same thing to West Ham, within 24 hours of being relegated he just slapped in the transfer request (which he was right to do of course) but in hindsight when interviewed later in his career said he should have shown his still current employers a lot more respect and managed all a lot better but 'got bad advice' and I am seeing it all over again here.

Same here, never borrowed to buy a car - so whenever I might need cash its easy enough to reclaim from a car sale. Always makes me feel just that little bit less guilty about having it parked outside.

The polish will do the legwork in terms of making your car shiny, the wax coating protects that polish from the elements. Beading is when the water lands on the car and the wax effectively shrugs it off to form a bead shape, if you drive the car usually this then just runs off. -
Or does the agent consider that his job is to get Sterling into the "best" team and so increase the players earnings, future transfers and subsequently his commission? But longer term, if he can't get a run in the best team his form drops, his value drops, his potential to demand good money falls and subsequently the agents commission falls? The idea of agents is ludicrous anyway, its a one day training course to be qualified - when Gareth Barry moved to City he employed a life long school friend for the day - told him what to demand, got paid a few million quid, then retired straight afterwards.
-
That was my point really, that clearly the agent has nothing on his mind apart from a big chunky take of a transfer fee this summer and has convinced Sterling its all about trophies. I just don't think he is intelligent enough (or experienced enough) to understand what is going on around him at the moment, he has all his hangers on telling him he is world class but he isn't by a long stretch, yet. He is inconsistent, and he won't sort that out by playing off the bench or being unsure of when his next start is.
-
Lallana and Lambert were in their late 20s and 30s, I think the issue here is that there is a promising 20 year old who is a dim witted muppet but nonetheless a talented footballer who has been told by his agent he can walk into a title winning team - which really is not going to be the case, he would be on the bench at Chelsea, Barca, Real, PSG, Juve etc. so where else is he going to go? Its not like City won anything this year either... ...it's just a shame another decent young player is being told 'to go find trophies' by an agent who just wants a nice big bumper payout on a transfer fee when he is not the finished article. Thats the problem I see coming...
-
He is 20, hardly at the peak of his powers and one of those players who when you see the highlights looks unstoppable but over 90s comes and goes. Liverpool were in the champions league this season, didn't exactly see Sterling set the world alight then... ...Messi and Ronaldo are fantastic examples of when players peak, at 26-29 years old - thats when you want to be moving to a really top top club. Just would be a shame to have a thick 20 year old (lets face it he isn't exactly smart) with some decent football talent get talked into something he clearly isn't (i.e. a world class player) just so the agent makes a decent buck and then buggers off and doesn't give a hoot. But hey thats the cancer of football as it stands.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32830357 I think most footy fans will have been following this saga to some degree over the last few months. On the one hand its good that a player wants to achieve things i his career and that (apparently) money isnt important. On the other the public behaviour of the agent is utterly shocking and just further demonstrates what nasty pieces of work they can be. Maybe the agent is being somewhat blinkered or just cares about his next big transfer fee but Sterling will not get anywhere near the number of games or development at a top club that he will at Liverpool. If the agents claim is true then would he sign for Chelsea for £50k a week, I mean they will win the trophies this apparently is all about and its a higher wage than he is on now? Unfortunately football is sinking - I will still watch it and play it with a passion, but its doesnt make for pretty headlines.

Bizarre that both batteries died at the same time? Would a reset of the car make a difference?

Yes have heard of the ceramic coating for a few years in the UK now, seems like a good solution although I would miss the fun in seeing the car get that lovely new coat of wax every couple of months -
Yeah, I usually go for £5 ones off ebay or something, although that said I cannot remember what ones are on my Celica which I have owned for a month now...! Have checked the pressures as well!

A neighbour of mine had this done on his C63 merc here in the UK, ceramic coating done by a specialised dealership (Williams?), finish was lovely. Cost was around £1500 I think he said. -
If you could custom print aftermarket air filter heat shields you might be onto something What about custom engine covers?

Yep, on the one hand its great there are so many employment opportunities in London but on the other it means ultimately if I want a driveway and garage and 4 bedrooms then I have to commit to a 3 hour daily commute with a £7k annual travel bill living way out somewhere away from friends and family. At the moment with Alfie at 3 1/2 years old and recently in a new little gym class when he was introduced to the other kids and asked who his best friend was and he said 'daddy' - family time is a more valuable commodity than money!

Not sure about the London salary offsetting cost of housing, a 1 bed flat near me is £350k, the 2 bed terraced house next door with no front garden, no drive, and a patio out back went for £785k! We rent btw and bought a place in a different part of london we rent out (which we just sold and will be re-purchasing next year). Pretty sure average salary in london is only about 10-20% higher than other parts of the UK but housing is something like 100-200% higher? Thats without my return ticket to Waterloo each day of £14 for a 17 minute train journey

Ha, completely forgot to say, mods you can close this thread, SOLD Try as I might, Rebecca wont agree to me taking some of the equity and buying a GTR though

My parents have just finished paying their mortgage, that was £250 a month but they took that out 25 years ago - £360 a month makes for a total borrow of £110kish which is astonishingly low. Then again I do live in London where pricing is not quite so fair!
