If the general consensus came back that GY were better...would you...swap?

My personal trainer did two tours of Afghan, Helmand and all that jazz, he is from South Africa and stereotypically bonkers. He used to attach go pro's to his rifle, saw some of the footage of suicide gunmen running at him and shooting and missing by inches, also the amount of times his SA80 jamming and he reverting to firing grenades at the oppo from about 20 metres away. Funny thing is it looks nothing like the movies...I am sure if Rambo was there he would have thrown his jammed gun to the ground, run at the guy, and cut his stomach out with a tree branch In short, bloody scary, cannot imagine I could do any of that soldiering lark, well done chaps.

I wonder if its worth having single sticky thread called 'unsubstantiated gossip' or something along those lines that all these recycled rumours can be put onto? We could then at least have a hilarious look back at all the 'new zed going to be released at the Tokyo motorshow in [insert any year between 2018 and 2030 here]' that compile over the years all in one place

First things first, onto ebay and buy a stubby aerial
-
Pop the engine cover off and look for this bit badly highlighted in blue - it is to all intents and purposes a thick gasket
-
As an aside, really interested to see what you have let yourself in for, bought almost blind in auction and shipped over and stepping out a MIcra into a 350z, baby steps not something in your vocab is it OP

Usual other mods for performance would be: Plenum spacer (a casual observer wouldnt know where to look for this) Cats? Decatted or sports cats? ECU remap Power wise, these do not make big gains on the max bhp output, on average with supporting mods and a remap circa 15bhp-20bhp extra at the peak point.
-
Can you not get a spec from the seller? It could have literally dozens of mods on it from an insurance perspective that are not visible in a photo. I hope it still has the mod cons in it, driving a stripped out track car on the road is no fun in the main.
-
Can't say I am in love with any brand, I just pick a middle of the budget scale oil for road use on all my cars. Millers usually ends up being a good option from a price perspective as a nice middle of the price range option.
-
Would be surprised if as this looks like a track pig, if it hasnt got some coilovers on it, ARB work etc. What other pictures do you have OP? Is the interior stripped out? Head unit? Speakers?

Be careful of the butterflys though!

Into week 2 - hanging in there with the home schooling! Is it me or have face masks become the adult version of comfort blankets? Bloke comes out of Waitrose with his military grade mask on, proceeds to remove it with his bare hands, holds it in his bare hands, then starts scratching his now itchy face with his bare hands. He then throws the mask into his shopping bag and walks off

There is a guide somewhere for the plenum spacer, you need to do up the bolts in a particular order to a certain torque setting Give the air filter and box a decent clean out? Oil change?

No idea, images are so small I cannot see what they are.

From what I can see in the pics aside from what you mentioned: Suspension strut seem to be different colours, can't remember if this is normal? Nardi steering wheel Obvious gauges Roll cage Some sort of speed camera detector on the dash Binnacle looks pretty beaten up so maybe something was on it/moved to another part of the car Induction looks like a standard ebay jobbie that kick around, most more expensive ones come with heat shields

Yes a big thumbs up for everyone, including train drivers! Mental health for all keyworkers is so important right now, whether thats seeing the death in a hospital to the people that transport our keyworkers around to shop workers who have to work long socially tough hours, earn a low wage then head home tired to look after their families before resetting and starting again the following day. Amazing some people genuinely still think this is not a serious thing, on the VX FB page one guy wrote in response to people saying stay in dont go for drives out of respect for keyworkers he wrote 'hahaha keyworkers [laughing emoji] - my car I can go where and when I like' - they live among us.
-
I also have a CTEK 5.0 and it does a great job - OP I went to look at a car for Mr Attak Z a while back and was wandering around the showroom full of Ferraris etc. all of them had a CTEK hooked up

Worth noting that the virus is breaking down the whole time over that 72 hours, 36 hours in it will have become much less viralant. Do a quick google there are a few articles explaining the genome and that traces of virus do not mean that it can give you the disease.

I work for Nectar, part of Sainsbury's Group - we have all been WFH since start of last week. As a data marketing business it's pretty easy to work remotely but as Stu says, miss the banter and camaraderie. We have daily zoom meetings with the management team which has been a bit of light relief but otherwise starting to get the cabin fever...especially with an 8 year old boy at home that needs home schooling too.
-
Aye Stu, the hypocrisy of the country is dumbfounding at times. Basically sod anything that doesn't affect me day to day, but when it does, then yes they are suddenly heroes. Boris and the Tories have taken this path that has led to where we are, sure you cannot plan for a pandemic in the NHS, but lets be clear, there were not enough beds before this to work day to day, let alone now we are in it. Gangzoom could probably give a more informed view from his job role but from where I see it the NHS has been thrown under the proverbial bus the last ten years along with the armed forces police and so on. What has been proven to me, there are still people on car forums who are wanting to go out for drives with an attitude of 'well sod it I dont care' others saying keyworkers ha what a joke. These sorts of people should have the vote rescinded permanently, they are clearly not capable of any responsible decision making.

I use this on the family daily, probably wouldn't use it on the nice car I think its only for literally working with cars that are pretty much 90% clean already.

+1 on the Worx Hydroshot, I have one and it does a reasonable job for the snow foam, the little bottle barely has enough in it (400ml) to cover my VX and its isn't as 'snowy' as a plugged in jet washer but still better than nothing. Two bucket wash method, then onwards. Its a bit of a pain not having a hose, but millions of people do it who don't have driveways
-
Just buy it all, cut them all in half, then pop it all on eBay and double your money !

Here we go, 20th Feb https://thejdmdaily.com/news/new-toyota-gr86-launching-july-2021-according-to-leak/ Sounds like it will be a decent car, GT86 and BRZ prices will no doubt crash, @SuperStugot to be thinking of selling on? If prices on the GT86 did crash down got to be worth going for a cheap one and supercharging?

Wasn't this all in the gossip columns in February?
