  1. I liked the comparison with vinyl, having used cheap eBay stuff compared to something like hexis its chalk and cheese couldn't be more different.
  2. Good effort for trying, I am sure a few people on here have thought about trying this, and I bet we all underestimate how difficult it actually is

Little tinkering going on this weekend, some chav-tastic stickers under the bonnet but more importantly sourced some OEM under trays for the front of the car and got them put on. Gives the underbelly a bit more protection from the elements and general road debris.
  4. It's odd because standard power is 276 out the factory, and the exhaust and air filter wouldn't count towards pre-map figures as you need the remap to make them effective without the map they won't add any power Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Nice one mate, looking forwards to an epic thread!
  6. I was going to say the pre-map power seems strangely high - also right as well about looking at the curve, too much emphasis put on the 'max' figures i.e. top power achieved and biggest gap in power change - you hardly ever drive in the rpm range of max power and the gap is not constant, it should be the average power increase over the rev range that you should be paying attention to.
  7. VX220 or Astra, or Corsa...or maybe with an 8 on the end?
  8. Yes but the 'greys' who have no need for clothes or have any level of physical strength who look exactly like people just with bigger heads will have built a circular shaped space ship that can!
  9. I know it sounds harsh but you can always buy another Zed - but good work fella, I am passionate about people getting the right career and have helped people with CVs on here etc and given interview advice, if you need any help let me know.
  10. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare mate, my cousin was in the army for I think 14 years, after half that he fell out of love with it and also had a family, when he finally left he said the worst decision of his life was not doing it sooner. Have you tried career coaching or something? It sounds a bit namby-pamby but the coaches are quite brutally objective in actual fact, and can help get you some long term direction on an exit strategy and into something else you might want to do?
  11. "one mans chip is another mans potato" love it! If its a small job you could get in a mobile service, if you fancy spending some cash I always recommend TGM in Fleet who's work is faultless.
  12. Just go in get it done without the W brace and sort yourself a nice aftermarket one in your own time, if the MoT tester tries to fail it because it supports the fuel tank then get yourself a tester that knows what he is doing (sorry to sounds harsh but I have heard enough ridiculous stories from MoT testers talking nonsense and trying to fail things that are not even on the inspection list)
  13. I dont think so! Never heard that before. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/102229-failed-motpart/
  14. Wasn't this discussed recently, just remove it to get through the MoT, its not compulsory? Then get yourself an Ultra Racing one on order?
  15. It seems to show SORN also, but it does rely on the V5 being accurate, which for some models of imports can vary wildly. Also it looks like in the example above even UK registered cars like the VX220 VXR can get mis-registered on the site as a standard VX220. Quite handy site for getting ballparks on numbers, for comparing a car when there are very small numbers you could see small errors that make you draw big conclusions which might not be right!
  16. A quick check of the website says that there are just 2 VX220 VXRs left - when I left the forum last year there were something like 10-20 owners on there, so either they are all lying, crashed all the cars in the meantime or something is not quite right with the HML website... ...as with most things on the internet, don't always believe what you see!
  17. I think it works fine for modern vehicles but there are large holes for imports, cars that were not officially sold in the UK, it also doesnt distinguish between model changes mark 1 vs mark 2 etc. I think there are a number of other issues as well such as it only records whats on the V5 document (my R33 Skyline was recorded as a GTR and would appear in this as an R33 GTR, it wasn't unfortunately). So I would guess that for something like a 370z its fine, for anything a bit grey (which includes 350z) it isnt as good a measure.
  18. I'm guessing poor sales figures for the 370z (certainly the Roadster) means fewer second hand sales thus prices stay steady? Anyone know (UK) how many 350z were sold compared to 370z? Knock yourself out https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk Its meant to be quite inaccurate this site by all accounts?
  19. Which is exactly my point - government policy and energy costs do drive changes in vehicle ownership, demand and ultimately price I think.
  20. Oh its still on, still hundreds of pished up toffs singing and shouting a load of old gubbins on Richmond high street every day
  21. Surely not worth face value if recorded Cat C...boom boom
  22. As long as it doesnt get in through the air intake and you do not have exposed electronics i.e. water ingress onto fuse boxes - then its fine - I have three vents in the top of my celica as standard Quite a few owners on here with vented bonnets etc.
