Oh and just wondering, anyone starving to death? Everyone ok wiping their backsides? Fed up of eating re-hydrated pasta yet?

It's not even a legal debate though, the Ts and Cs of insurance are pretty clear - if pandemic is called out then its payout time. I guess its where its less clear and specifically called out but businesses are claiming based on it being included but under something else. And if its not in the contract, then you don't pay out. (the BBC article also says the FCA are not forcing insurers to pay out to those not covered).
-
But in all seriousness, it seems the majority of the small businesses had the option to have better cover which included losses through a global pandemic, many didn't take it. Does the FCA then force insurance companies to pay out? From what I read the argument isn't that they aren't paying out - its that they are not paying out to businesses because contractually they didnt actually have the cover, or that those that did, they are not paying out quick enough?

According to the movies the gambler is grabbed, bagged, put in a dark room sat on a chair and accused of cheating and told to give all the chips back

When I saw the price I had to double check it was a 370 not a 350. Wow, amazing price and a bargain for anyone looking around right now. GLWTS.

Insurers are businesses like any other, if the industry ends up paying out huge sums, I don't think they can toss away the risk and assume this is a one off and it will be reflected in increased premiums moving forwards.
-
So in effect companies that didn't pay the higher premiums to cover pandemics aren't being paid out. Tough one, as to the letter of the contract, if you didn't pay for the cover, you don't have it. But on the other, this is devastating so understand why people are desperate.

Ha its nothing special, just an acoustic guitar - will see if I can find time to go dig it out and take a photo

I have a fender at home, got it as an engagement present, signed up for lessons, then proceeded to break my left hand playing football when living in Paris - was a lovely accident, snapped my pinky and wedding ring finger completely backwards, it was hurting to I grabbed hold of them and snapped them back straight, they made a very loud cracking noise so got back on the train to a hospital near my apartment, 2 hours there, before an ambulance arrived to take me to another hospital - wherein they stopped at a cashpoint for me to draw money out to pay them for the trip - before finally getting to a hospital that could treat me and finally getting pain killers about 3 1/2 hours after the initial accident. Anyway in short, I have a guitar, the scar tissue on my left hand makes it hard to play, mines in the loft

My sig gives it away but cannot describe how painful its been looking out the window at the VX with all this sunshine! As soon as we are allowed out to play again its roof off and fingers crossed the summer doesn't let us down.

Have yet to lose money in terms of purchase price vs sale price on any of the VX220, R33 and Celica. Actually sold the Zed for £2k more than I paid although I had spent about £5k on it But yes there is something great about older cars and the rarity factor. Had my Zed a total of 18 months, it was my entry point into the performance car area and must admit as much as I loved it, I am so glad I sold up and have tried other types of cars.

Looks more like an MEV (hence the rocket reference?)

I did a little job today, opened the fuel cap flap on the family Qashqai - the crap in there had been there for the cars life I think! Cleaned it all out, very satisfying!

If you are talking about those gel carbon stickers yes they are awful. Looks like something you would get called ripspeed from Halfords! I wrapped mine in a satin black looked really OEM and didn’t take long as removing the pieces is really easy. hydrodipping would give a good result too but more expensive

20 miles is nothing. I drove from south London to Coventry to buy mine! Train there and on the way home! Its worth the extra miles to get the right car.

There are in effect three versions the DE the DE Revup and the HR. The HR is very different engine, its not just an evolution. Also note that between the DE and the HR there was a facelift, the interior was tidied up a bit, a few other cosmetics too. In terms of reliability, aside from the famous Gallery Gaskets mentioned above, all 350z's are very reliable cars on the whole considering what you get for the money. I think if you are going to be going in on a budget go for a nicely maintained DE and have money left over for perishables. Don't underestimate the cost of 'stuff' on these cars, just because you can buy a leggy one for £4k don't be surprised that if the clutch goes and the brake discs/pads need replacing you are nearly £1.5k down already.

I’m pretty sure that zed belongs to a guy called Barry who runs south coast workshop in Emsworth. Have you tried googling the website or even contacting them see if he will do you a favour and send some pics? He is a good guy, he did a load of work on my Celica GT4 and I helped him with advice on buying his zed (but not modding it!)
-
I sold my zed about ten years ago, so not up to date on whats good and whats not! Maybe current car owners better placed to give pointers. Common brands I hear used are stoptech, black diamond (I had these), DBA - EBC are for sale everywhere with up and down reviews.
-
Have a nose around on the traders sites on here (Torqen, Tarmac, Cougar Store etc) and you will see plenty of options. DBA are around £250 for a pair https://www.cougarstore.co.uk/nissan-350z-dba-t2-brake-discs--front-98-p.asp

Yeah midrange stuff should be fine. Pads make huge differences so would rather spend more there TBH.
