Have you got yourself a training plan? The marathon website usually has links to various ones to suit what you are trying to achieve. These involve building the distance up gradually from 16 weeks out I think it was from memory. Just as importantly have a proper warm up and warm down regime, again find online the ones that suit you, this will hugely reduce the chance of injury and reduce soreness in muscle tissue. There is a misconception that 2 minutes of pulling each foot up behind your backside and touching your toes does the trick but this can do more damage than good. Also all the usual stuff, plenty of water leading up to and after exercise, don't allow yourself to dehydrate, again prevents soreness and injury.

I was just going to say I just use normal car shampoo and they come up nice and shiny, but then mine are powder coated and black! Shampoo will get rid of the superficial dirt and make them look shiny, so looks fine with the naked eye. The point of products like BH is that it goes red/purple, this is the product removing the micro particles of hot metal that embed themselves onto your wheels during day to day driving which will be left behind after your wipe down with wash mitt and shampoo. BH is PH neutral so not harsh and will not damage wheel finish. Chirag! its funny, since I moved I could possibly use that pressure washer now as its easy to get parked outside, oh how I spend many an evening pining for my little blue pressure washer

Heres a snap of the manual, so yes it does say that they recommend that you use at least 96 RON (BP Ultimate is therefore absolutely fine), it also says you can in emergency use 91 RON but has to be mixed with the 96+ RON stuff. It doesn't mention 5k revs just full throttle or hard acceleration, which I imagine happens overall in about 5% of everyday driving. Probably why we haven't seen all the dead cars in Ireland. Would also be surprised if ECUs cannot be set to 95 RON, just like various tuners here in the UK can with uprev, surely cars sold new in Ireland have to be fit for purpose in that country?
-
All the above have good reputations from what I have read, what about adding MeisterR to your list they are traders on here. I had BC Racing coilovers on my Skyline and performed admirably well.
-
95 RON is called Premium Unleaded here, 98+ is called Super Unleaded. Both appear then to be 'premium' in literal terms. I don't have the Zed manual but yes it says run on 98, don't use 91, it should have referenced 95 somewhere but doesn't seem to, so you will have to infer between those two known truths. I wouldn't run my cars on anything other than the highest RON I can get from reputable fuel suppliers, you won't catch me putting 95 in, but he has a point if the only choice is 95 RON in Ireland how comes high performance cars are not littering the roads over there to the point that it would be common knowledge not to buy a performance car that needs super unleaded as it would quickly die due to fueling issues?
-
But over time if it were killing engines off then it would eventually find its way as news onto the forum? Maybe the zed engine is a lot more robust than we gave it credit for and relatively few are going pop over in Ireland...

There are some utterly horrific people out there that seem to go on for years, then you get some genuinely lovely people taken away, just an utterly lovely guy from what I could tell. Such a shame.

Sorry I know off topic but it is funny, when I recently bought my new double din head unit, reading the reviews and someone had given it 1 star. Was a lady who got the thing installed and was complaining about it not playing DVDs (you need to wire up the parking brake to the unit for that to work which I doubt she did because of the next comment..) and she also complained that the reversing camera didn't work either...she did to be fair write in brackets afterwards as a question whether she had to actually install a camera for it to work

Just tried out the Bilt Hamber stuff, used it on the missus megane (so excuse the kerbing!) as my wheels are still pretty clean. I don't have a pressure washer or hose (yes I bucket wash and rinse the car by hand each week!) so had to toss a saucepan of water over it, anyway: Before wash: A sped up video of the process, I left it on for a couple of minutes: Rinsed without any agitation of the wheel so spray on rinse off (no pressure washer or hose), still a fair bit of dust and dirt around the edges of the wheel: Another spray and use of a brush supplied with the cleaner and another rinse resulted in this: Then a wipe down with a microfibre: Overall a good result, I am sure a pressure washer would make for an easier life (and I didn't bother with the inside of the wheel nut cavities) but seems to do a good job, and water based as well. I would also possibly consider buying the concentrate as I bought a pre-diluted bottle to try it out and imagine that won't last long.

I think its actually a fair comment from the Irish contingent, he has a sticker saying 95 RON on his car, they do not sell 98+ in Ireland but there is not as far as he knows a graveyard of 350z with detonated engines, I wonder if there is something different about the ECU in Irish origin cars? Otherwise basically any performance car sold in Ireland should be lying dead on the side of the road? I get that in the UK it says use 98+ RON, and that using 95 is not a good idea, but what is going on in Ireland!?
Is there anything that you don't have an opinion about?
Now, are you flirting or is that excellent use of a sarcastic smiley?

Ekona will be along shortly to discuss 'mixed tyres' with you

How big is the company you are moving to? Generally I would find that this isn't a problem, larger companies have set budgets they feel are reasonable to recruit the person they need for the role. You said you are currently underpaid for what you do, they offered you a salary for the role you will come in to within their pre-agreed limits on salary. Trust me their first priorities will be to ensure you hit the ground running and like the role and that you can do the job, salary will be the last concern.

Dan's fault for writing something sensible for a change it's thrown us all out of kilter

Good read this, for those with Canons I still use my 350D had it for 9 years now with the same lenses although my everyday 18-55 lens has also just gone pop. I dug out my canon macro lens which I have probably put about 200 photos through and used it to produce this, although meant standing in a bush! I would normally have not bothered with anything non DSLR but have to say I might have to sell the faithful old 350d with associated lenses and pick up something like a mirrorless.

Yep GTR R34 is one of my favourite shapes in standard form, GTT is shocking, understand how they had to differentiate but really by quite that much. RX7 at minimum needs that front bumper or aftermarket for sure. I am still umming and urring about my own GT4 front, it kind of works but I do sometimes hanker for a flatter front...
-
Front looks too MX5 Mk1 for my liking, no bad thing but prefer it more on the MX5.
-
OK so I am referring to the majority I see with the standard bumper on not the 99 spec one as per the picture. Personally I would not leave the RX7 looking like the red one above and look to add something like the 99 spec one, wheels, lowered, spoiler (so in effect half a body kit and wheels and stance) it looks day and night better.
-
Is the front lip standard? I see RX7 as standard looking like this? I think R34 GTRs look great stock, the GTTs though (as mentioned the rear wheel drive versions) just don't cut it for me and certainly need the tweaks to the bodywork:
-
Absolutely... I actually think lots of RX7s in standard form look a bit lame, and really benefit from some changes here and there. The rear wheel drive R33/R34 Skylines also really do need those changes to really make them look something a bit more purposeful and less like a family sedan - but its all subjective hey.
-
I was just saying I like the VS kit on the RX7s generally...confused when JP told Ricey the VS kit was not VS and was Kazama, I thought he meant generally not referring to the pic at the top
-
Sorry confused.com, Ricey was referring to the yellow RX7 at the top right? Too early...
-
I didnt realise this, so when I google it and find thousands of references to it, they all got it wrong? (Im not being sarcastic here, really, its not Veilside?)
