coldel replied to -Bradders-'s topic in Member Build Projects
3 months 5 days till Scotland...make sure they get a move on! -
There are lots of filters which are green from different companies - google HKS panel filter and look at the plastic cage that holds the filter, its quite distinct and will give you an idea if yours is that.

Your car sounded great Adrian when you fired it up next to me at the Woodman the other day must have been awesome all those cars cruising through town!

Headers are meant to be good, but are a lot of effort to install from what i understand...

The width is the widest part of the tyre, not the width of the tread pattern, so to me it looks the same (as the tyre on the left has a wider tread than the one on the right but the one on the right where the tyre meet the wheel is pretty wide too, but ultimately both at their widest point are about the same). Also the image is a shocker if you are trying to prove a point, wonky, one tyre further from the camera than the other, not taken straight on etc)

Which Colin... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Or was it blue jackets, anyway lots of guys on the forum rated Poirots plugs, worth going for to be sure
-
There are some 'yellow jackets' on eBay but they are a bit crap, his stuff is a bit better and sit between the cheap eBay ones and spitfires (which are about £300 for 6)
Not heard anything bad about them For coilpacks on my skyline I used Poirot on skyline owners
This, tried and tested and cheaper than the splitfire ones.

ZED Zee, indeed. Bloody Americanism! Note to self, if Dan on the rare occasion is winning a debate, call it a Zee...

I was going to say no way is it standard ride height and the skirts etc are extras, most GTTs up for sale don't have those stock. Actually didn't Ian own this car first? Bought it for around £3k and had to do a load of work to it then sold it for £6k or something? Seems to look familiar?
-
Clarkson loves them and thinks they are amazing, so steer clear
-
I agree, lowered, aftermarket wheels skirts etc looks lovely

Horses for courses JP, 350 has a glaring omission of a couple of seats in the back, and the OP said he wants a change. I get that a supercharged Zed (probably £15k minimum I would have thought?) is properly quick, but looking at alternatives. Agree the GTT body shape is dull but like any car the body work is a movable feast, you only have to look at what chargespeed and amuse have done for the Zed (which I think looks pretty lame in standard guise in terms of body shape). I found my DE 350z about on par in terms of comfort as my R33, R33 had better seats (albeit had the GTR limited edition ones). I think the early 350z in terms of a nice place to be were not quite that, in fact they were very sparse in terms of comfort. The R34s will just keep going up in value, 350z's have some time to go before they see the same...depends on what you want out of a car if you bought one right now.

£9k you can have my Celica
-
The R34 GTR is ridiculously overpriced, the prices of R32 and R33 GTRs are about right, the R34 is pricing half driven by the F&F brigade I suspect. Especially given the price of the R34 GTT, it just doesn't make sense. There are plenty of R34 GTTs with a bit of fettling that would easily match a stock R34 GTR, they are really an overlooked car and subsequently undervalued.
-
If that's the case isn't that true of any car? If you can't afford a 370z you get a 350z...
-
Sold the R33, bought the GT4...much happier in that now. Its so much more nimble (rally car I guess!) and responsive but still has that out and out speed in a straight line. An R34 GTT in my own opinion if you are on a budget of £9k would get you a better all round car than a £9k R33 GTR. Its rear wheel drive (the R33 GTR will operate in rear wheel drive in most driving conditions anyway), single turbo with the revised Neo engine.

I looked long and hard at going for an Evo, I personally would not have gone below a 6 if I am using it regularly and wanted it above stock boost. Or save up a bit more and get yourself a Tommi Makinnen, it will only gain in value and is a rocket straight out the box. I didnt quite bond with my R33 (albeit not a GTR), I liked it, it was proper good theatre, but something didnt quite get me to 100% happy on it. If you are set on an R33 I think for £9k you are getting a bottom of the range GTR or you could probably pick up a standard R34 GTT which would be a great base for a build over time, much better interior and body weight trimmed a tad. Whilst we are on the subject, will put forwards my suggestion for a Celica Gen 6 GT4 forged and tuned will see north of 350bhp no problem.

Worth reading up on MPS as there is a lot of mis-conception out there as to what each tyre does...MPS3 was not a replacement of MP2, and is not a replacement of MPSS Next up, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Many people felt the Pilot Sport name lost its direction as theMichelin Pilot Sport 3 didn't replace the Pilot Sport 2, but the slightly more touring bias Pilot Exalto 2. The true replacement for the Pilot Sport 2 came in the shape of the well regarded Michelin Pilot Super Sport. With the launch of the Pilot Sport 4, Michelin are aiming to get the Pilot Sport name back on track. The new tyre borrows lessons learnt from both the Pilot Super Sport, and Michelins involvement with the Formula E race series. This has resulted in a tyre which has a much more performance focus than the Pilot Sport 3, but still retails excellent tread life, a strong wet performance and the good levels of comfort we've come to expect from a premium tyre. As for the fate of the much loved Pilot Super Sport? This tyre will continue to sit above the Pilot Sport 4, catering to those of us who want an even higher level of performance in 19 inches and above.

Vred Vorti's on my GT4 and are very good well pleased.
-
Openeo, Tyre Leader, Asda, Camskill all good sites for tyres. Do make sure to check the tyre ages though, have heard stories of these cheap companies selling on tyres that are 5-10 years old and have been sat in a warehouse. I bought my Vreds from Camskill, literally pence in it compared to the others but have bought stuff from them before and had great service.

I also believe that the data stored on your attendance is shared with a private firm NPDDs or something - pretty sure at some point it will become something insurance companies can access freely.
