Actually reading the full public paper the Leave campaign have put up, that contains 90% 'project fear' than anything, I imagine they saw that tossing around big numbers for Leave in Scotland didnt work and the 'fear' tactic is better employed and they are doing it themselves. I guess it will work to a degree along with the broad rhetoric of 'we will take control of everything' without any plan as to how, I do get that they cannot give that away, but like I say, I need something to vote for other than them telling me I am a coward for voting stay and that by taking control of everything we will be better off - which I have yet to see any concrete evidence to say so. Its their job to change my mind, of course I am going to vote for status quo as actually economic indicators show that we are growing, so its needs to be pretty bloody compelling for me to vote otherwise - its not a 'give it a shot' decision.

The danger is that uncertantity and instabilty in the economy will only exacerbate this. Like you say, its a protest vote with no idea who are what follows, in all likelihood they will blame policy makers if the desired outcome from any Brexit isnt to our wanting. There will always be someone to blame. I saw on social media the video of the people nicking water off the london marathon stands during the race, loads of people said its a symptom of Camerons government that people are so desperate. The fact that most of them were in designer brands (ok probably chinese knock offs) well dressed, and clearly 'overfed' shows they are hardly bordering on dying of thirst, but it was interesting how many people started ranting about the government and Carmeron. The fact that people have nicked stuff since the dawn of time regardless of which government is in shows the political party is somewhat irrelevant. But I get the whole northern thing, I have lived in the midlands, south coast, essex, london so have various experiences of people and I dare say it for the flaming I get, but the knowledge of people in this country around politics, economy etc is shocking, when I lived in France the understanding of 'how stuff works' was just generally miles higher - whether thats a schooling issue I have no idea.

more like #teamreacharound Stay on topic I *think* I am going to vote stay - still the Leave campaign are saying 'take control' but refuse to say of what... Isn't it obvious? Laws, Courts, Human rights, Trade, Environment, Borders, Democracy. Take your pick, or come up with your own. Do some research. It's pretty embarrassing to vote for the status quo and allow Brussels to think for you because you can't think for yourself. Think 10, 20 or 30 years ahead, what the In & Out campaigners say is 100% guff and irrelevance. Look at the EU performance now, where it's going, and how it's performed in the past. Engage critical thinking, come to a conclusion. Base your vote on that. Has anyone voting out read the official webpage? None of it actually says how and what they want control of. Borders, Environment etc none of this is mentioned, you have just listed out a list of things you 'want' to think you have control of without actually knowing what the Leave campaign have said they will take control of. How can you have a Free Trade Agreement whilst closing borders, that contradicts everything that Free Trade stands for and Free Trade (of which there are many types of different ways of doing this) is about the only thing they do mention that they want to instigate. Engage critical thinking is right, assuming that you can 'take control' of your list by exiting the EU is fundamentally incorrect, plenty of research to be done there my friend.

Good choice on tyres, I have exactly those on my GT4 and they are pretty bloody good actually.

12 months with the Leaf....far from perfect, but the future is coming.
coldel replied to gangzoom's topic in Other Cars
Funny you say that as the Leaf is quicker to 60 than the Focus The only think cheap about the Leaf is the running cost they are expensive to buy Never said the 1.6 Focus was faster than the Leaf? -
I would have thought you buy all those separately, did you tell the wheel supplier what size spigot rings you needed?

VX220, still look at the classifieds every week to see whats out there...not much comes close in terms of raw driving appeal, made my zed feel like some sort of bumper car. Completely impractical of course and leaked a bit but good god it felt like climbing into a formula 1 car every time I drove it.

Ultimately, cheap to run, but it is in the grand scheme of things a cheap runabout and nothing more. Focus 1.6, not exciting vs other petrol cars, but certainly more exciting than a Leaf on comparison. I think the actual comparison of a Leaf is against something like a Ford Ka. Unspectacular, relatively slow, cheap runabout. Ironically the places where this should work best i.e. cities trying to cut pollution is where it will not sell in my view. I use my car when heading off on bigger round trips. Anything shorter then public transport wins hands down in London in my view. So, cheap, slow, uninspiring, get a Leaf. Want longer journey's get a Focus. Want some fun, get something else. -
Have played with VR over the last couple of years at various conferences, it is so convincing when you have the head set on. One example made you stand on a platform which suddenly shoots up in the air, even though you know you are stood on the floor, in a room, it still makes you almost fall over and put your arms out - then the guys running it challenge you to step off the platform, even though you know you are stepping around in a room, it takes all your willpower to overcome what your brain thinks its sees and step off.

JDM ones came with more power out the factory than UK ones

I think it was repainted in Japan where it had a single owner from new (I even have his address!) and was kept inside, it was then auctioned off to the UK and picked up by a car collector and kept in a lock up, he only did 900 miles in it between 2009 and 2015 when I bought it - seemed mental as I have a folder of receipts totally up thousands of pounds and the guy never drove it. So it hasn't really seen the light of day for years before me...hence the lack of oxidization in the red paint.

Nothing wrong with a Cat C as long as you know what you are buying into - well known on VX220s for instance a key alongside two panels was a cat c write off, it really depends on whats happened, its all value based not on how much damage has been done. Personally, given how many 350z's are out there you should go for a non cat one, but don't write off (scuse the pun) cat cars point blank, some can be great bargains.

Advice on upgrading Macbook to El Capitan
coldel replied to chirag1988's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I have a 2009 macbook and have always updated the OS, on EC now and all working fine As you said, you have a capture of pre-update to bail you out if you dont like it. -
I went for this http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-dual-action-polisher/das-6-dual-action-polisher-menzerna-intro-kit/prod_721.html but its now out of stock! There is also a working 5% discount code on CYC at the moment if you google it. Mine was all Menzerna branded, both the pads and the polish, I used about half of a 250ml bottle of polish doing my car. I used the medium/yellow pad on mine.

Its a Kestrel that many companies seem to own label, have a nose on ebay lots of 'companies' selling the same machine with their sticker on. Its a good bit of kit, a fair bit noisier than the one for instance Wasso used some time back on my Zed, think his was a Megs pro one. But it does the job and for the money you get a lot of stuff in the start package.

How could I possibly turn that offer down

The A3 is a shocker for middle laners, its the most bizarre thing, I might take a video next time I am out to demo it - you can be driving along on the inside lane and far into the distance a stream of cars all in the middle lane. Occasionally one will pull out and then sit in the outside lane doing the same speed...it really makes the mind boggle.
