  1. Petition outcome... In the interests of road safety and to support law enforcement, the Government will not be changing the legal requirement for vehicles to display front and back number plates. UK legislation specifies the position at which number plates must be displayed on a vehicle. The main purpose of number plates is to make vehicles readily identifiable for the purpose of law enforcement, road safety and the collection of vehicle excise duty. In addition, members of the public who report incidents to the police are often aided by the presence of both front and rear number plates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is widely used by the police and others for the purpose of detection and prevention of crime and to support road safety. ANPR is critically dependent upon the presence of clear and readable number plates on vehicles. In the interests of road safety and law enforcement the Government will not be changing the legislative requirement for vehicles to display front number plates. Department for Transport
  2. What in gods name. People are just going mental nowadays. I blame brexit. Should have been banned in all honesty.

    Clay bars

You need to wash the mitt in warm soapy water. Old clay bar won't scratch if you fold it and expose a clean area. Clearly once you have used it enough you will never get a clean face on it no matter how much folding. The clay mitts are good for 30 cars by all accounts before you should ditch it.
  6. Yeah thought you might have to pull the plug on this. Such a shame its a beautiful looking car.

    Clay bars

Invest in a Megs/Autoglym/Bilt Hamber bar and you should be fine. That said, I bought a clay mitt recently and its every bit as good as a bar but x10 faster to do the work.
  8. Went on my stag do to Cork....it was sensationally good
  9. Very odd thread! Ultimately you should buy what you can afford to run. If saving £50 year by having a box plugged in is a big deal, when it costs £90+ just to fill the car up, I really don't think its a big saving at all, just don't put your foot down for a few weeks (like you cant with the box attached) and keep your mpg high and job done. I think performance cars are gotten just a little bit too easily nowadays and many younger drivers crash them due to lack of driving experience, but hey maybe thats the old cynical guy in me coming out. And as Dan said above, insurance is not something you try to trick or get around, its about putting forwards an honest assessment of your car ownership. If this second driver never gets in the car, you are committing fraud.
  10. Thats kind of my point though, that comparing Clarkson to Evans in the same light was not really comparable in the first instance - the acts are not really the same and the way they happened is not the same.
  11. Yeah an absolute joke - how is that a deterrent? He could have easily killed people in that move.
  12. Yep absolutely right, but then again pretty sure some of these sexual assault allegations would never happen 20 years down the line if the person wasn't in the public eye. Clarkson was a complete muppet, on a warning for various indiscretions then he goes and gets drunk and does that. Got what was coming really when he got sacked from a job he clearly loved. Stupidity of an arrogant person.

  14. And I think looking back you will find most of us were saying he should go if proven guilty which of course came out as true within a few days (didnt stop a million people putting a petition to parliament in the meantime saying he was not guilty...). Unfortunately if you do something in the public eye like Clarkson did, then it will be reported to the public. He punched someone in front of dozens of witnesses including random members of the public.
  15. There were a squad of witnesses running to the press, photos of a bloodied Tymon etc etc. I think that is in no way comparable to someone coming out and reporting an alleged sexual assault from 20 years ago.
  16. Got my alignment done the other day at Wheels in Motion, car feels so much better, and for just £70 - one of the best investments you can make.
  17. There is something quite brilliant about Sabine laughing her head off whilst executing sensational driving skills in amazing sports cars. I really enjoy seeing variations in presenters in the show.
  18. I am no CE fan, but it wholly wrong that such investigations are revealed before evidence is confirmed to justify an arrest, let alone the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Who knows it might be another Cliff Richard debacle, but the media justs loves to presume guilty until proved innocent - how would we like that to happen to any of us knowing we were totally innocent that could (and does) ruin lives? No different to Jeremy Clarkson what so ever and everyone was keen to jump to on that bandwagon, JC has never been charged does that make him innocent too? JC admitted he did it though. He wasn't charged because Tymon didnt press charges, and Clarkson apologised for doing it. I think there is a substantial difference between the two...
  19. Yes it is poor, the people that bring these allegations are given anonymity and I cannot see why people it is brought against even before an arrest is made are then named and shamed when they are innocent and they will never shake off that incident for the rest of their lives. Anyway, TG, I really enjoyed it, no matter who was presenting such a relief to get a break away from the three guys rolling out the same old lines ruining great cinematography. Whoever came up with the idea of focusing the TG show on the events and entertainment and creating the online follow up to look at the more technical side deserves a great pat on the back, in fact many people miss this and do not realise EG is there.
  20. Sonex stuff is generally excellent. Although I am currently enjoying this product, its a bit thicker and not a fine mist but the shine is every bit if not better than most products http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=350890
  21. ...and from a short term point of view, absolutely essential when you park your car up at a car meet and are of a vain disposition!
  22. Can Del Bosque speak English?
  23. You wonder how much chance there is of becoming a classic, they make many more cars per model than they did say 30 years ago, also cars are designed to last longer anyway so more likely to be more of them around. Reckon you are looking at 25-30 years before a zed becomes collectible?
