Not sure if anyone has been following the Eibach 350z project in Banzai last few months? The point being that Eibach reckoned they could upgrade a 350z to 370z beating levels for much less than buying a 370z So they got a late spec 350z and started work. It was interesting reading, all the usual mods, Abbey made an appearance. Then in this month the final part, they tested the 350z but didnt put it up against a 370z on the track. Even the lap time test they referred to a different driver driving a 370z in different weather conditions on a different day and even though the lap times were about 7 seconds apart (350z slower) they felt confident having a race driver in their car would easily shave those 7 seconds off and declared it most likely to be a 370z beater. I get its an advertising piece of editorial but the 'final test' i.e. is it a 370z just wasn't answered in any way. Huge disappointment!

Remember to put the plenum bolts back in the right order, search on the forum for the order I think ZManAlex has posted it up a couple of times in the past.

Anybody travelled and worked on the go?
coldel replied to Ollydykins's topic in Off Topic Discussion
My wife and I lived and worked abroad in our mid thirties in Tokyo and Paris for three years, its never too late to go do this sort of thing and yes we did own a property at the time. Certainly travel is quite tempting at your age, but honestly never feel like once you do something like buy a property that is the end of it -

My wife did the whole working in Oz thing before I met her - from what she told me its really hard work and you have to be willing to blag your way through stuff to get the job. She worked as a chambermaid, kitchen staff, and lots of other tourism based work. A lot of the work is not sociable hours, so she found herself working evenings or such early mornings she slept during the day. Pay wasn't great, they knew that English working tourists are desperate for work and take advantage. She did find some time to go party and enjoy Oz, but no where near as much as she envisaged as she was working 6 days a week. It all sounds depressing but really it is character building and she has life long friends now in Oz. -
Japan for the weekend. Lightweight! I went to Taiwan for 4 hours, work. Must admit that my brain was rather 'confused' when I got back though. Have done several trips to Australia and NZ for only 3 days. Spent more time travelling to NZ than I was actually there. Ha, I see your 4 hours and raise you...

Welcome Coldel to the team and some going for gold

Thanks for the comments people - remember, keep to the proverbial speed limits on the forum and you will all be just fine -
Bah its not a long way for a week - do the proper sleeping patterns on the way over with the help of some natural sleeping remidies and booze, chill for 5 days, come back. Well worth the hit. I went to Japan for the weekend once, admittedly work paid but it was fine!

German vs Japanese Car Show 2016, Sun 28th August

Always going to be tough on a summer bank holiday weekend when people are taking breaks/holidays... -
Yeah MPG has never really been a reason to buy or not to buy a sports car. The funny thing is an invention could come along in 10 years time which revolutionises travel and EVs could well just disappear. Who knows. We all assume the future of road travel in our lifetime will be a car with a different power unit...
-
Thats when you put taxes onto owning EV's...oh...
-
I would imagine the costs for combustion engines would still be higher, but the current cost of running an EV is not going to be the status quo - its cheap now to convince people to switch, once they do, it will climb in price as you mentioned.

I'm insured with them, good company, sure it wasn't just connectivity where you were? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Because Scandinavian countries have minimum 50% income tax brackets so infrastructure spending is much easier. They can't even fix all the pot holes here, where does the money come from to make EV charging practical? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Passing 240volts 32amps wirelessly? Over distances of 20 feet or more? I know it sounds like I am just ranting, but its a serious point, we can all point to EVs but they do not solve problems practically when most of the country cannot practically charge them up. The challenge is not building an EV that can compete with combustion, its the infrastructure.

How do people nick anything, they work it out and take it. I seriously cannot believe for one second that people cannot nick something like that. It was tongue in cheek in any case. I live in zone three London, lots of cars, around 5% of people have driveways. I wonder as a percentage how much of the country actually has off-street parking? 15% possibly? There seems to be this given that we are all going EV but how is it practically going to work? There are 40 cars on my road and 5 lamp posts? The infrastrucutre cost is going to be utterly immense to switch anything over, especially with 'free' charging also now coming to an end.

Or nicked the charger! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Actually the opportunity is there, keep your car in great condition and whilst people buy EVs your old combustion engine will sky rocket in value, and it will be much more fun to drive than to sit in a silent aluminium box doing nothing.

...I guess the one challenge I would put out there is if you have to park on the street how do you charge at home? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And import evos? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can imagine for getting A-B as eco friendly as possible EC are a good option, having been in a couple now I just find them soulless, sorry! Its like sitting in an arcade just without the great engine noises. Appreciate 0-60 in 2. whatever seconds but when its done silently I realise that its actually not the performance that is important, its the noise that comes with it.

I remember I was umming and urrring about one of these in V6 format a while back, that or the VX. I was driving towards the toll booths on the M25 Elizabeth bridge mulling it over then hit a whole heap of traffic. Culprit was a dead one of these smoking quite badly under the bonnet blocking one of the lanes - made my mind up there and then lol

My Vreds are the same, I also PM'd Dan to check I hadn't bought 4 for one side

My Celica is pretty low and I know my R33 was lower, neither had any problems as Bobby mentioned the occasional full beamer but most modern cars have auto lights which go to main beam which is not a problem. Its certainly nothing to do with the Zed, many more cars much lower out there.

I have to say I am so confused by this? Are people peering over the tops of steering wheels or something? Never had this problem!
