  1. Odds are people do not use their little finger - its probably in 80% of cases going to be a thumb or index finger I would have thought?

It really depends on which one you came up against. Mine is boggo standard with no boost work, so running standard boost at 0.9bar but has had a panel filter and replacement exhaust put on which on the dyno put me at 281bhp which given the kerbweight of a GT4 is around 120kgs less than a zed makes it more than capable of tagging along with a Zed convoy Its quite common though to have gone stage 1 which means FMIC, boost controller and winding up the boost to around 1.1bar which puts you in 330bhp territory - if you come up against one of these then you might be struggling a bit on the b roads. The next stage is forging and turbo/ECU switches which sticks them up and over 400bhp. All in 4WD
  3. Its like anything, you can be robbed if someone has the desire and drive to do it. Was it safer to walk around with £15k in your pocket to view that car to pay by cash? Or even be paid by cash at home where you could easily be robbed, car driven off, fake money passed over etc. Its not 100% but its less dangerous than how we have banked in the past - its probably on par with passwords but fingerprints are just more convenient aren't they?
  4. Happy belated birthday humpmeister-general!
  5. Zombie Apocalypse my brother secretly booked in himself and a load of my mates to go to a half day event underground simulating a zombie movie and we were raw recruits who got attacked by actors done up as zombies, we had night vision goggles and air-soft guns to take them down with though I wasn't really that bothered about travelling as such - having spent a fair bit of time abroad over the years preferred to just invite a load of people along to a bar in central London for a boozy one.
  6. Thanks for raising this, we have had issues with pop ups on the forum intermittently over the last month or so. Clear your cache and bear with us.
  7. Approved, for pictures its always easier to use something like photobucket to host the images and then copy the link over from there to here and use the insert image button (the greenish square in the control panel above) then you do not have to contend with size limits. Can you also get your username on the other two pictures please today.

They were already on the car, I am not sure what brand they are (yes my bad, I should know all the parts brands on the car) but I think the previous owner got them from TCB. All the work and maintenance was done by Martin King at MKAutos so am very confident in the workmanship on it. You could also try drop a mail to GT4-Play see what they can recommend?
  9. Ever more evidence to show that dashcams are great...
  10. Just check the boot lid sits flush, when people swap them over for carbon ones the lightness actually means they are raised up a bit and not flush with the lines of the car.
  11. ...a lot of the 'voting' for strikes is a farce in any case. Often you only get something like 40% of members actually bother to vote, even then its often something like 60% in favour 40% against so effectively you area seeing around 25% of the workforce voting for a strike.

    NEW car!?

Ah but I know you kept back a fair few grand to sort it Dan!
  13. The reason why I thank my lucky stars that both my dad and my brother are both car mechanics...! I remember reading a story a couple of years ago how a driver in a modified Evo got pulled by the police, no insurance so they took the car off him and sent him packing. The police then jumped in and ragged it down a 30mph road and lost control wiping out an entire front garden wall and writing off the Evo. They never got charged for it funny enough though...as straight as the FA our police force haha.
  14. I managed to wrap it without taking them off. I looked into it and I am pretty sure you are looking at removing the steering wheel to get them off. Wrapping in situ is fine, just use a squegee (and I used a trim removal tool as it has an angled end for tucking the wrap) and place the wrap over the top.
  15. I cannot stand strikes - its hell but modern day worker in central london can usually bypass it nowadays working at home, although for some appreciate thats not the case. That said, on the odd occasion there is good reason for it, but on the whole they are politically motivated by the unions to maintain support and retain members by being seen to do something.

    NEW car!?

I think as above, buying a 10 year old+ big beemer with high miles could land you in all sorts of trouble with reliability/replacement of worn parts - that seems like really bottom end price, has to be a reason for that. Actually just did a check, hasnt been taxed for the last 3 months, MOT expires in November and has advisories around the brakes and an oil leak. It has failed 4 MoTs since 2011 then passed with advisories after that. The oil leak has been present since end of 2013...
  17. There are thousands of tyre reviews online and done by various mags, we seem to as a forum have come to the conclusion MPSS are the best without doing our own independent like for like testing, plenty of other forums say something else. That said, happy to see the Vreds doing well, no complaints with them on the GT4 and half the price of MPSS.

    NEW car!?

Unreliable turbos? They are what you buy, like any car, poorly maintained and they fail, just like a poorly maintained NA V6 will fail. My turbo unit is 21 years old and still going good guns. A quick PH search for sub 7 seconds car for under £7k (assuming you can stick in a bid of £6k) turns up a reall good mix of cars: Porsche Boxster Focus ST R32 Golf Golf GTi Monaro (high miler but hey so are all the 335 beemers and Monaro is V8 yummyess) Audi S4 Mazda 3/6 MPS Mk1 V6 Audi TT Leon Cupra R SLK350

    NEW car!?

VX220 mechanics are made up of standard vauxhall parts easily (and cheaply) available...

    NEW car!?

A cat d VX220 NA? Might just squeak one in at the bottom end of the price range for £6k but running costs are peanuts, its does 30mpg+ easily even when giving it some beans. Fast, looks cool, very different driving experience.
