  1. I am apparently due an upgrade on my iPhone 6. Its in immaculate condition, but battery is obviously not holding as much charge as it used to. Looking at iPhone 7 reviews there are some marginal upgrade such as the quad processor and screen. I am wondering if a 7 Plus is worth it or just stick with my 6 and reduce my monthly bills? (Appreciate this is slightly off topic..!)
  2. Whats the point of a waterless wash if you need to wash it with water first? Is this not just massively overpriced QD?
  3. So when we going to get an MPSS smiley?
  4. Surely it has to? Either that or the dirt evaporates to nothing the second it comes into contact with the waterless wash? It has to be somewhere, and it will be abrasive?
  5. Still not convinced, no test to see if it caused micro scratches i.e. torch on the paintwork which would be my main concern. Any quick detailer would achieve that superficial 'clean' you just see in the vid...
  6. Yeah bit of a surprise this one. Do I not like this...RIP GT.
  7. For value they are excellent mine were less than half the price of MPSS in a deal on one of the tyre websites.
  8. MPSS are just better, but also twice the price. I got these on my Celica, clearly a different beast with 4WD compared to a Zed but fantastic in the dry, can feel a little bit skittish in the wet I think.
  9. I know, was just jesting. Have Vreds on my car, never spun the wheels, never lost it, guess I am not driving my car hard enough
  10. GTFour-Owners forum will be there again this year and have signed up, so will get to catch up with you lot again, fish and chips on the pier!
  11. I cant say Ive driven an FI Zed but I was getting wheelspin in 5th this morning, thats plenty craziness for me That's simply because you don't have MPSS on your car, as everyone knows all other tyres will kill you within a week of ownership
  12. And its not all about that peak power output either, no way you can measure 'performance' based on a peak output bhp figure. Clearly the weight of the car makes a huge difference, my VX220 was a lowly 150bhp but weighing about 950kgs means it doesn't need to drag the extra half tonne around the Zed had to. Also higher peak performance figures often comes at the expense of low down power levels. Its quite likely a 600bhp Supra has less horsepower between 1000-3500 revs than a bog standard Zed for example. I think the only way to really measure 'performance' is timed point to point runs taking in corners, braking and acceleration.
  13. As I said, theres is no argument for this being a time saving thing. It is more convenient, but no it does not save time. I am not here to say they are not worth it at all, its simply an opinion, there will always be groups of people that dive in head first when tech hits the market. I don't wear a watch, I have an iPhone. I look at the cost of the Apple watch at nearly £300 and think is the extra convenience worth it, in my view, its not. As an aside I also cannot see how you can predict the future of these devices, nothing has stood still for that long in the last ten years that hit the market in any serious way. iPods, phones, tablets, wafer thin laptops everything just 3-4 years down the line from inception have multiplied in capability from gen 1 or 2. Unless of course you have a job or something that knows something all of us does not - there is no business model as far as I can see for Apple or Samsung to not recoup probably hundreds of millions in investment through sitting on the same tech for 3-4 years. I can also understand that there is no disadvantage from integrating the two. If you have cash on the hip then I think go for it, me, Im spending my £300 on a new front bumper for the car and part of the spray and fitment work
  14. You can save more time just not bothering to undo your laces and slip shoes on and off over the course of a year than the time saved going through the arduous task of taking a phone out of your pocket. The time saving is really irrelevant, its not the reason to have this watch, its a tiny by-product of owning one. We also have this really old invention called a 'clock' on the wall in the kitchen, which has for centuries been a useful device for timing egg boiling OK sarcasm aside. I think in its current state its a nice addition to owning a phone, the health tracking part is really the only substantial benefit the rest is somewhat useful but on the whole a gimmick. Interestingly when I ask people what they do with the step counter etc most people respond that they monitor it - which is kind of pointless, surely they should be using this new information to make their life more healthy and taking action upon it, most just though look at their count at the end of the day and think 'yes I did this many' which for me, is not a good use of the capability. Versions 4 5 6 etc of these types of tech will be useful, and probably when I invest my first pennies into it, in the meantime I let you excitable lot fund the development of those me
  15. I just clean mine more often, at least once a week including the underside of the car. That's when you know a car is super I would suggest it varies by region, in London you rarely get bad ice on the roads, temperature is usually higher, less chance of snow and the like. I can imagine living up norf its a slightly different prospect. In short though, I adore my cars, but drive them all year round, and my cars will always be one of the most polished and cleanest at any car meet any time of year...admittedly at the expense of the missus complaining I spend too much money on car cleaning gear
  16. I think most people I know who own these use them primarily for checking email/text without taking their phone out their pocket. I can see how that can be marginally useful but there is no way you can claim its time saving - there are many areas of our lives we could save much more time without forking out hundreds of pounds on tech. The fact most of these watches require you to have your phone to hand is what will hold them back, once they become autonomous of the phone suddenly you are in a whole new ball game.
  17. No, actually last year it was the 4 days driving in rain, sleet, hailstones and some sun in bonny Scotland
  18. Someone on the Celica forum posted this up, a series of 30 second ads for the 80's/90's Celica featuring Eddie Murphy. A great 2 mins or so of entertainment...any funny car ads you can recall?
  19. I found the stillen splitter worked well with the steps on my old Zed
