We went the standard route last year, took over an hour to do the last mile, just creeping along a couple of feet every minute or so it was a nightmare.

Building that 1000bhp+ Supra then trying to get the fastest top speed on that test track oval

Its all very debatable, which is good. How comes a mint 240z which is now knocking on 30 odd years old only worth £20k? What does that say for the 350z which is mass produced (relatively speaking)? An R34 built in 2001 is worth 8-10 times what a 350z is worth built around the same time. I think it comes down to a few things such as: Looks: I think the 350z ticks this box, but does suffer a bit from the 'it looks like a porsche' syndrome Badge: Some Nissans break the mould i.e. by having the Skyline badge against it, but many do not - why does an E-Type go for £100k+ when its contemporary the 240z go for a fifth of that? Heritage: Zed heritage is good, so should count in its favour, although many 'average joes on the street' wouldn't have a clue what a Zed is, or was Performance: Its a good quick car, but lets not forget Toyota/Nissan/Ford etc. were building cars just as quick 10 years prior to it External factors: Movies, celebrity endorsement, viral stuff on social media can all impact it, who knows what is to come - its not had its Italian Job Mini-moment yet but it might do I think its in with a chance of becoming a classic worth something in 15-20 years time, I think its far from a given though.

+1 that, if you take the normal route you will spend an hour sat in traffic (as the GT4 lot did last year) the other route gets you into town in about 10 mins!
-
But in terms of what would drive value of the 350, I am not so sure it being NA would be the main reason or even one of the main reasons. There are so many external factors that are unrelated to the car - I am thinking Bullit and the Mustang for example, alright the Mustang was a well known American car but it became and icon there and then which will have put a large positive value on the car. With Nissan, if they go on and make another NA version of the Zed lets say, does the 350 retain that point of difference and become valuable. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that so many factors affect future value.
-
I can see some logic in that, although as above that didn't stop turbo cars like Supra's becoming highly valued over NA cars. I cannot see an NA Supra being worth more than the turbo version in the next 10 years. There are some interesting papers written about 'iconicity' which are worth a read, about how and what defines an icon and thus creates value.
-
How comes the view on the NA? Because most cars are going turbo nowadays? Supra and R32 made it off the back of being turbo charged.

Its one of those questions, that if you knew the answer, you would be a very rich person. 300zx's I understand are not 350z's (you could argue they are much rarer and twice the effective price of a 350z) are only now just creeping up, they bottomed out ten years ago. R34 GTRs have doubled in value in the last couple of years after sitting around £20k mark for ages. I think the challenge with modern classics is that they are built in such high numbers, much better put together etc. If you really want to make money on a 350z, should be worth something in 10-20 years time...not sure I would sit on a zed for that long with fingers crossed though!

Nothing wrong with certain EBC brakes, but sounds like he is just wanting to flog you EBC as he probably puts a decent mark up on them. Anyone who knows their stuff must know those brands are no worse than EBC.

They shouldn't be damaging your rims at all. Best take photos prior to tyre change as evidence and take it to a reputable (not the cheapest) place you can.

According to stuff I have read, making a material reflective is not making the plate legal. The number plate must be made of a reflective material which steel isn't. It also appears the number plate should be capable to bend and return to a flat shape again metal won't do this. Also some talk that ANPR cameras cannot read properly raised letters in certain conditions. I think the short answer is no they are not legal but happy to be shown the error of my reading up if someone knows better. In any case you would be pretty unlucky to be pulled up for it.
-
Pretty sure they are not legal (something about not being reflective) you would need to put them over the legal plate at shows?

Ha yeah, sod the lot of you that do not like it, I do I think the camera angle makes it look a lot fatter than it actually is, it still easily clears speed bumps too. Fox nailed it above, it was built to rally but I have lowered the car put larger alloys on and sprayed badges discreet black so it looked a bit odd on the front with the raised nose the side profile of it was just not fitting with the rest of the car which looked more GT. Car going back to spray shop to get the wings blended in (as the red is slightly off the wings but matches the bonnet) - I didnt blend it originally as I wanted to be sure I wanted to stay with the look but having lived with it for a week or so really like the front so getting the blending work done and have sold the OEM bumper/fogs. Fortunately the majority of my driving is on London roads, no fear of not having front fogs (which I never used once in nearly two years of ownership).
-
Yeah it's marmite but the OEM one was a bit pointy and looked a bit dated. I didn't really like it hence the change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New front bumper much flatter front, more aggressive, nice big air dam and fog lights out.

iPhone 7 Plus arriving today, daft question but what tips on making sure I successfully switch over to the 7 from my 6 taking contacts, apps, photos etc with me? I have taken VR photos with Google Cardboard photo app for instance, how do I retain those? I also plugged it into iTunes and I have about 20gb of 'Documents and Data' what is that given it also shows music, photos, apps - what on earth is taking up 20gb that isnt those? -
What was the reason for using this stuff over the tried and tested plastidip out of interest?
