  1. As above, job, location etc contribute more to insurance premiums in some cases than type of car. It seems once all the stats are gathered together that you are less likely to have a zed stolen, or crashed, than a Mokka - so that could be a reason for the price. Then other cars have huge premiums, to insure my Skyline R33 was twice as much as it was the zed.
  2. There have been some changes in insurance laws http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/27/insurance-premiums-young-drivers-could-rise-1000-government/ Although yes you have to do the usual ring around come renewal time, there is always a cheaper quote out there with just as much cover as your renewal.
  3. I moved post code and it changed one digit and my insurance went up 15% - car is now parked approximately 100 feet from where it was previously on the street. As they said at the time though, there has to be black and white borders somewhere and I was unfortunate.
  4. I am trying to remember the name of the kids film, its animated, but it is the future where humans sit on floating seats and have turned into bulbous blobs and lost the ability to walk. Its a comedy, but it also has a slight edge to it...
  5. I have been in one of these, they have them as a parking option at Heathrow airport. Quite uncomfortable, slow and jerky. Felt like I was sat in a bumper car at a fairground. That said, was nicely convenient to just jump into instead of waiting for a bus across the airport.
  6. Many things still remain unsolved though - no guarantee it will be.
  7. Yeah I know you were jesting. But it was a good point! I am struggling with the legalities of it, if someone doesn't respond quick enough to being given control and someone else dies, does that make it manslaughter? But then whats the point? I know when I travel in cars as a passenger i am never going to be as alert as if I am driving. I don't think a car can just hand back control in a split second, it has to be a transition.
  8. And you have a coca cola in one hand and a book in the other whilst leaning over the seat and talking to the person behind you probably unaware of what road you are on let alone the impending incident... So many implications, I can see some partial implementation (we already have it to a degree with lane control etc) but the idea that in 20 years we are all sitting there having a snooze whilst cars take us 100 miles from A to B is quite frankly not realistic.
  9. Exactly the point I tried to make - you have quite a big decision here for coders sat in a valley in the US, that they will ultimately decide if you are walking down the road one day that you die to save a group of people in a car. Should 1 pedestrian die to save 4 people sat in a car, where a driver might not make the same decision? Numbers say yes, human instinct would say no. But then 1 life is less valuable than 4 is it? As with most innovation, the technology is relatively easy, the outcomes and implications are immensely complicated. Who has liability, who makes the decisions etc.
  10. Why are P Zeros nearly always on performance cars as standard? I get that Pirelli probably run a good deal with the car makers, but you think Michelin could get in with as much clout?
  11. Thanks for the comments all, as mentioned we really value trader support on here, it makes a huge difference to how we can support and insure events etc and keep the forum running.
  12. FAO Pro Traders Following discussion within the team we have taken the decision to increase the traders fee from £50 to £55 effective immediately. As a car enthusiasts forum we highly value the specific expertise and great service pro traders bring to our members, and as such have kept the traders fee at £50 since 350z-uk.com's inception over ten years ago despite rising costs since that time. The decision is not taken lightly but hope you appreciate the reason for doing so. As always all proceeds go back into the forum and ultimately to the benefit of the membership. If you have any questions please do drop me a PM and I would be happy to answer. Regards Col

They are the cheapo ones on ebay if I remember rightly? Lots of labour to do, potentially they fall apart in no time at all, and you start over. In terms of performance on headers, by all accounts they do have a nice positive impact.
  14. I think it is unreasonable to start saying things like Brits standing up for whats right etc. and calling out members on here for not agreeing with you. You posted up this asking for opinion, people are looking at it and giving it. Reading this objectively, I would disagree with your original post, in that your first mistake was accepting the offer until you clarified the postage error as others mentioned - you assumed the postage error on your part without confirming it with the seller, regardless with him being unprofessional further down the line, by doing that you ultimately put yourself into a position with having to negotiate it to a level which you felt was correct, which the seller didn't agree with, and here we are. Looking at the profile, he has 100% positive response so far, including many offers which probably were similar situations to yours so it, clearly though he has taken your email about a refund and the review completely the wrong way (as email often can be taken). If he was cheating and ripping people off left right and centre I am sure there would be more evidence of it on the feedback? I think if you are that aggrieved just put it through the ebay system and let them do their stuff - often you do not have to do very much and they take on the leg work for you.
  15. It is a good point, what happens when you pull into a car park? Or a field for a festival. So many scenarios about there which break the system. Don't get me wrong I am all for innovation (it's in my job title!) but I also like to stress test every outcome of innovation - on the road where lives matter the test and learn approach is not one I particularly agree with with certain innovations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That's not the point though...should a computer decide to kill innocent bystanders to save you... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Go there, look at some roads, click PacMan in the bottom left corner...!
  18. Also saw that Uber are pulling a load of driverless cars in the US after the computer flipped one on its side (albeit in a collision with another car potentially at fault) Interesting conundrum for you - clearly the computer is given code to make decisions, if the decision was to avoid a head on collision at speed which will most likely kill the driver and its occupants, but the only way to avoid it is to swerve and hit some pedestrians by the side of the road, how do you program it to decide...what decision should it make.
