The engineering and numbers required to fly something so large so far through so many environments is mind boggling. The video looks so simple yet the effort required to make this work is incredible. Flying something hundreds of millions of miles and landing it on another planet

Its amazing how much tech you use day to day and have around that was invented by Nasa, from the more obvious stuff like solar cells to less obvious like scratch resistant lenses and LASIK as well as advancing the durability of rubber now used in every day car tyres. There are literally hundreds of inventions that were created for space travel but had viable applications on Earth too. But ultimately, it was this desire to learn, to explore, to discover that got us out of caves in the first place - and long may it continue!

Not sure I would ever read much into a company 'reviewing' its own product I have used this stuff as well as a number of other waxes over the years and am pretty meticulous in terms of caring for my car (I would say at last count I have about 60 bottles of various car care products in the cupboard) and it doesn't return what they are showing. Maybe I am just a bit crap at it or they could be just showing us what they want us to see

To be honest waxing the car isn't where the hard work is at, I would be asking what polish and process he is using? Assuming its being decontaminated/clayed etc. I use Fusso Soft99 but in reality its no different to the Dodo Juice Supernatural and Victoria Concours waxes I used before.

Search for signs of life once being there as theorised. History of the solar system. Better understanding of nature around us. Human development. Huge leaps in technology development. Like saying to Carl Benz building this thing called a 'car' 150 years ago why bother horses are faster...whats the point.

I didn’t want to say it...but yes

Enjoying following this at the moment, in the middle of a pandemic to see something amazing like this is good for the spirits https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/timeline/landing/watch-online/ They landed effectively a car, weighing a tonne, on another planet. Amazing feat of engineering.

This and the ebay electric suerpcharger vids were the first two I ever watched years ago of MCM - good little channel, especially the 240z they bought in Japan. They just did a Lotus, was a shame as they didnt know how to drive a mid engined rear wheel drive car and made a bit of a pigs ear of it!

Jogged by your car this afternoon in Richmond parked up near the station, possibly had a V3 front end (I was running just soooo fast lol)

Oooo yeah, coil springs corroded all four corners. It says front sub-fame corroded but they could be referring to the W brace which always rusts and can be replaced. It also says Rear vehicle corroded as well. Then the subsequent MoT all that has gone away, worth checking to see how they repaired all of that

Hello from Ireland, looking for a Zed
coldel replied to Chris M's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Welcome along. I actually sold my previous car (a Celica GT4) to a chap from Ireland, he flew in to Heathrow I picked him up in the car, drove back to where I lived, did the paperwork and he drove it back to a port over in Wales and home again just in time for tea! He paid in cash to avoid transaction costs and brought the money with him, I had to write an email to him and immigration explaining why. Funny thing was we went into my bank, first thing so only people in there and the manager wandered over to help we explained we needed to pay a lot of cash in he said no problem and we used the automated paying in machines which could do £2k at a time. One lot stopped and spat a few notes out it couldn't count and the Irish chap right in front of the manager and me just said 'aaaa they be the ones I printed out' I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry Anwyay, good luck, the guy that bought my car had a full day but said it was relatively painless considering he had to buy in a different country. -
Its completely standard, so unlikely to have passed through here I suspect It doesn't even have a stubby. Otherwise given its age and miles check for all the usual stuff that perishes over time/use such as clutch, exhaust, anything made of rubber, rust etc.

Glad you have the car back, we got an insurance payout actually last week after a skip lorry hit our ford focus ...in August 2019. Despite several witnesses and video footage of CCTV they fought it all the way before paying out. Not wanting to tell you how to suck eggs, but did they check all the obvious things like fuses? OBD is where you plug in the reader/dongle so you can collect 'on board diagnostics' so not sure what your garage means? Unless I am reading the above completely wrong?

Haha bonus point for illogikal! But yes swapped out the griffen!

I cannot see it. You might be able to get six cars in a car park but large scale stuff I just can’t see it unless the numbers tumble dramatically. After the mistakes of coming out of lockdowns previously I can’t imagine it will be like before where it turned into a bit of a free for all.

The ad doesn't say number one to be fair to the trader, it just says one of 76 which is what it is. The price though is loopy land and imagine they are looking for a new buyer with far too much money on the hip and no knowledge in their head! Interesting dealer website, they sell rare and expensive cars along with a few very low mileage everyday sports cars.

Cheers Dan/Stu, a little zoom in shows the stitching on the inside of the wheel. Also the matching gaiters for the handbrake (out of shot) and the gear stick. The steering wheel is standard with the VX, its a Momo branded one, so I have bought a matching momo gear knob.

You would be paying a premium for the name of it in reality. And if you plan to add miles to it, rather than take it out to the countryside on sunny days only then you will lose money on depreciation. To be honest, unless you are investing by buying one and sticking it away out of sight, I would get over the mileage-myth that exists in this country and get yourself a well kept and sorted car possibly one with an enthusiasts history, One that has refreshes of all the moving parts, has been driven, but cared for. Do try and drive one before buying, they are not sports cars, they are GT cars. They are a touch lardy and meant for the wide open roads of the US market not the backwoods B roads of the UK market - although you can do some work to help them adapt to that.

Yeah I binged Breaking Bad a couple of years ago it was really good. Mandalorian Star Trek Discovery Cobra Kai (Being in my 40s this is bang on the money retro) The Witcher X-Files (currently watching all of them over again) The Expanse Dark Matter Ken Block - The Gymkhana Files

As the car is just sat outside not being used, seemed like a good time to get something done that is kind of essential to everyday running. It required disconnecting the battery, then carefully removing the airbag (praying it doesnt go off in my face) and taking this off Then sent it off to my guy that did my interior to do something with it And in no time at all it was back in the car I thought about putting some alcantara on it, but apparently it wears quickly so went all leather with blue stitching and a blue line at the top. It left my house Monday, and work was done and it was back with me Thursday morning. Brilliant.

With the VX living outside I need to take any dry days in winter as an opportunity to keep it clean and remove winter debris. Just a basic rinse down and wash with my favoured Bathe+ Also a good opportunity for some car pic porn

I guess for me, you said he has to work stupid hours and doesn't have a great salary yet wants to throw a ton of cash at a car he doesn't drive and is even less likely to drive once it gets even more power. You hinted about you tube but is this purely a willy waving exercise and he is after more the notoriety in car circles than actually building a well sorted car that will lay down the power properly and he drive?

I’m bringing my engine bay over! Great result mate!
