  1. To be frank, I wouldn't be surprised if its mental illness, and I mean that sincerely! I can imagine that something like what she has done over the last couple of weeks has effectively ended her career, she could well have broken down or something.
  2. Of course not and I didn't suggest that at all. I have seen these psychology tests in a number of formats and seriously, you are talking some massive psychological assessment done at individual level over a period of time to properly assess someones psychiatric tendencies. Something impractical for the level of catching out someone with violent tendencies. As I said, there is a group that does this already with varying results, you just go to their webpage and put your email address in...
  3. I have known a fair few people growing up who worked in the city in respectable jobs that loved going out on weekends and getting into fights. They would stroll through any application.
  4. Not what I said at all. Seriously. Questionable motives? Such as concern for their communities? Hunting? Hunting? Yeah..right. Pitchforks and torches. You've taken what I've suggested and turned it into the Nazi Party hunting Jews just before the outbreak of WW2. Bloody groups of thugs getting "tooled" up. Get a grip. i think it would be naive to think this wouldnt come as part of that Becoming a thug who puts fear into communities that aren't of British descent is NOT my desire or objective. What we have now isn't working. Hence the questionable motives point - the people signing up to this are not on the whole going to be priests and nurses, not sure if you are old enough to remember the Guardian Angels on the London underground, I remember them, some good guys but plenty who signed up just to be intimidating and get a self-fulfillment out of being part of a tough group - plenty of stories of them making a 'citizens arrest' on people who had done nothing wrong. Why do you say what we have now isnt working? They arrest 1 person a day on terror charges, they have foiled 5 plots to murder already this year. The UK is already pressured by many groups for having the toughest anti-terror laws in the world. It has been stated resource is the main problem to making even further inroads. Encouraging civilians to engage with terrorists can only lead me to one plausible outcome which is higher civilian deaths.
  5. Many people within the intelligence and security forces have said the system works, but they do not have the resource. OK so we change it, we disregard a human rights convention that has driven global change in children's rights, homophobia, torture practices so on and so forth (unfortunately the likes of TM will 'market' it as something else) - we toss that out the window and we find some chap born in Britain who has googled something and spoken with a hate preacher. What next? Whats this tough solution that everyone seems convinced we need? Deport them often gets put out there, but where? The country they are going to has to accept them as an incoming deportee. How do we, as a country with no jurisdiction in that country force them to take a British national we have deemed not fit to live here? Would the opposite apply then, say a guy who was born in Saudi Arabia of British parents who turns out to be a murderer, I presume you would accept that they can deport him to the UK as a Saudi national yes? What if a 'rounding up' approach was more prevalent, what would I do as a potential terrorist? I would probably go so far underground and probably accelerate my plans for causing death and murder giving security forces even less time to get to me? Just a thought. There is no way any thought has gone into May's statement, ask her now what the first thing she would do to start this process (not even ask her what the plan is) and she would 'have to defer' to someone. I am not against preventing terrorism but assuming some draconian plan with no thought in it will just simply tick a box and stop it all I just cannot get my head around.
  6. Complete knee jerk reaction from someone desperate to put some distance between herself and Labour and win a few extra votes - how much of these promises have been thought through, all processes examined, viability tested and consequences thought through - none at all. Political rhetoric to snap up votes on popular themes.
  7. Well the only source of real entertainment gone - will have to focus on genuine politics now No surprise though, she was an utter mess no idea what was going on there but she was turning up to interviews with no knowledge of what she was meant to be talking about. Crazy.
  8. Most of what I have read here are patches to cover a massive problem. Groups of civilians with questionable motives tooling up to go hunting possible terrorists, seriously? Feeding corpses to pigs to make them scared (given they are prepared to have themselves riddled with bullets), are you sure? There is no force vs force solution to this, any one of the billions of people on this earth can decide they go out and kill people, its been happening since the dawn of humanity.
  9. If you ever come to sell the car you are going to lose a pot of cash on it having to explain to people that you have an older engine in a newer car - as much as you can talk about rebuilds and the like most people given that they have hundreds for sale in the UK at any one time to choose from will likely walk away. It seems by accepting this you are taking a hit financially somewhere down the line for this companies lack of capability in supplying what you wanted.
  10. I don't have any evidence to back it up but my personal gut feel is that the muslim community would be shocked not because of the person but because of the lack of respect for their religion. If you just say burned the body in a pit, I would imagine people wouldn't bat an eyelid, but the pig thing is a deliberate sleight on their belief system. As for making them think twice, cannot imagine that would do anything to achieve that goal at all, in fact I would think it would encourage those on the cusp of doing something barbaric to take that final step they might not have otherwise done.
  11. Absolutely, it would be easier to do damage with chemical weapons - but either way that sort of destructive power is going to run a pretty high risk of being picked up before it gets anywhere.
  12. Its OK, my 5 year old is just over 1m 15cm tall in total, his feet don't touch the floor
  13. Having been through the whole baby arriving thing, I found that an estate is useful but not necessary (neighbour had one we didnt, they never used anywhere near the full boot space) so wouldn't get hung up on boot space. In fact we easily managed using the R33! The only advantage of four doors is the obvious ease of putting in and removing said child, I didnt mind as am a reasonably flexible guy (have to be to own a VX220...) - so I wouldnt worry about boot space as a factor really IMO.
  14. Personally I would be sending it back with a strongly worded letter - clearly the seller doesn't know what they are doing. Understand though that you just want to get your car up and running...
  15. Wife and 5 year old plus accompanying luggage, scooter and bike all fitted into the Celica for a 4 day break in Wales last weekend you lot don't know what you are missing
  16. N Korea have been throwing their entire countries resources at miniturisation and still havent cracked it - if it were to come from anyone it would be a nuclear ready country and there aren't that many of them about, there would be some very clear and obvious implications if one did go off. In terms of miniturisation its not like they are the size of a packet of fags, its still probably as big as a person from what I have seen of images of one, its not like you could pop it into a handbag and press a little red button...
  17. Skyline powered Stagea? Mazda 3 MPS? If you can get a cheaper one a mark 1 Focus RS?
  18. E46 M3? Or later turbo 335i? Fairlady 350gt?!
  19. Celica GT-Four for the win German mobiles like Audi S3 or Golf GTi? Edit: Just saw your quirky comment! R33 GTST?
  20. Brilliant tweet following the photo simply said @dianneabbot the gift that just keeps on giving
  21. Love it on that Telegraph report if you scroll down a Tweet from someone who photographed a rather 'in good health' Dianne Abbot on the phone at Oxford Circus station this morning She has totally been muted by the Labour party, car crash politician
  22. But they do not need the savings, they have the magic money tree...
