  1. ...and in the meantime the EU continues to build their case against the UK for divorce proceedings. We are going to get hammered.
  2. Yes UKIP got smashed, SNP also. Lib Dems made a bad call focusing on Brexit but to be fair doubled their seat allocation. May has announced she is going nowhere. Which is quite frankly astonishing.
  3. Actually there is argument that Corbyn has every right to stay, Labour exceeded expectations and are heading in the right direction whereas the Tories have gone the other way. Less about who won what, instead about who overachieved vs under in my view. But agree that neither excite me as a leader of the nation. TM made some terrible decisions in the last couple of months on the budget, u-turns, non appearance in debates, all bad choices that have undermined confidence. And of course hard brexit makes any sane person worry...
  4. Zac won by 45 votes out of over 50,000 cast Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. ...and snide Zac back in at Richmond Park Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Fife held by SNP by TWO VOTES Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Tories get rid of May and jump into coalition with DUP? Similar aspirations on brexit...pretty sure I heard Thornberry say last night no deals with Labour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Tory SNP coalition with deal on indyref2?
  9. Thornberry is on Sky now...calling for May to resign if the result comes as it looks. Actually she has an annoying habit of shutting her eyes whilst being interviewed...
  10. Exit polls are saying Tories seat count is down and possibility of a hung parliament...
  11. Historically Sunderland does declare first, around 11:45pm. They like to make sure its them first, they literally have runners sprinting with ballot boxes and a hall of trained counters!
  12. Actually could it be Docwra
  13. Isn't lexx a 200sx guy? Worth a chat with him first?
  14. I did as well! Was like errrr, ooooh ok!
  15. The barge is up - and 200sx eh, any rust?!
  16. I explained (oh do i have to repeat myself here, again) that it wasn't directed at you, i meant it, I used you as a more general term around people complaining about policies etc. (which you havent done so again it wasnt directed at you) but do not vote. As I say, again, you can either take that as true or allow paranoia to dictate what you think. I also pointed out quite clearly that 100k spoiled papers in 2015, and that if the millions who claim to have the mindset you had around politicans spoiled papers it would make a difference. It does involve you registering to vote though, getting yourself over to a polling station on the day and doing it. I can only assume that from your other posts around being very apathetic around who runs the country, that you don't care to, which is a shame the more people make their vote count the more likely this country will be run in the way people want it run. Stop worrying about countering every question that is put to you for a change and try read between the lines that actually this is a post around trying to give you a bit of information or support around something that you cited as a problem. Take it or leave it.
  17. You used the word "you" a lot for it to be a general comment not directed at me I haven't registered to vote, no. Fine whatever paranoia issues you have there sat at your keyboard about how the forum hates you and the like. Take it as you want. In actual fact I am trying to enlighten you to spoilt paper voting as the clearly obvious alternative which many people who are apathetic around voting choose to ignore as a way of voicing your current issues around politicians - reason being because I felt exactly the same way when I was in my teens and didn't bother voting for years, then the realisation hits you as you get older and wiser how much missed opportunity there has been. If you are happy to take whatever happens fine, but you cannot state hatred of politicans, lack of information etc as reasons when there is a way to be part of the process to voice that concern and enact change.
  18. I hate posting links to media articles as there will always be a political spin to it but worth reading Strudul, I think the general consensus is that they do not commit to promises made but this has no backing and no evidence behind it. Of course will they be able to implement everything, our wonderful changing world means they cannot, but have a read through and see how much actually does get done https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/apr/14/how-much-of-the-conservatives-2010-election-manifesto-was-implemented
  19. A few numbers for you: 40m cars in the UK (give or take) of which 99% are petrol/diesel - its been a steady number for some time now 2m cars bought new each year - again pretty steady for a number of years So in effect cars going to the great car park in the sky are matching new car purchases, 2m in 2m out. So to get the scenario where we say 50% of all cars in the UK are EV, thats 20m on the road all things being equal. Lets say EV cars off the bat (and this is clearly pie in the sky) today are 50% of all new car sales, 1m sales a year. By 2030 twelve years from now thats 12m cars, around 1/3rd of cars on the road EV. For some realistic context sales are currently around 2% (I think!?) EV not 50%. OK I understand all things being equal is not going to be the face of it - the only way EV is going to be the main car on the road when said daughter is driving is really up to the government and how much money they invest in the UK on promoting EV usage in the country via infrastructure.
  20. It was more of a general comment about the complaints, not directed at you. The political system is what it is, it wont change unless you actively do something about it and the most impactful thing you can do is go and vote for something. Including spoiling papers. What is stopping you doing that? That is in effect a vote against the people you have overtly called out as stopping you from voting. What you have said is totally aligned to why vote papers are spoiled - a million ticks on the government petition site gets a debate in parliament, a million spoiled vote papers would probably achieve even more. Can I ask, have you registered to vote?
  21. I clearly gave more reasons than that, but okay. Yes, I disagree with the system, but if you refer to my previous post: So in effect you are against democracy? You sound like someone who would prefer an autocracy? I am not sure what exactly the point is? You will never have the full facts in many things in life you just have to do the best you can, in fact the majority of your life is spent making decisions without the full facts or the ability to get them. One of these people are going to rule over the country for 5 years, you are either in choosing or out - if you are out, then there is no complaints whoever gets in and the policies they implement. At the 2015 GE 100k papers were spoilt, millions of people didn't vote. Now there could be lots of reasons why people didnt vote but a lot of it is apathy wrapped up in a perceived hatred for politics, plenty of it is though a cannot be bothered attitude to it. But its here to stay, unless you do something about it. If you choose not to and are just in the mindset to be some sort of victim in all this and accept it, then thats your prerogative.
  22. If you don't want to vote because you believe that everyone is a liar then you should protest against the system by going down there and spoiling the paper. If you feel that strongly then get down there and do that, they get counted and if they are big enough they will start to count for something.
  23. This kind of sums it up for me when it comes to electric cars and why they just do not stir the senses - ok its blatantly done by a petrolhead but hey it was as good an illustration as I could find I have no problem going EV for carting the kid around and doing boring journeys down the motorway, but for fun, not a chance
  24. Wind is the primary form of renewable energy collection in the UK (and quite rightly) and costs substantially more to set up than other forms of electricity generation. Ongoing costs are about the same once they are installed vs other forms of energy collection including power stations (go google energy costs it defines it there).
  25. Actually green energy is not free, its renewable. Its costs something like 6-7 times more to build and collect wind energy than it does to say build a power station. Energy companies are getting a lot of crap off the press at the moment for putting up prices somewhere between 10-15% in some cases but that is to allow them to invest in renewable energy infrastructure. The government also puts billions into contracts with power companies to build green energy solutions. The key is to be clear, this is not free, its renewable. Our utility bills are going to rise substantially as renewable energy is put in place to replace ageing power stations, it has to, simple maths dictates that. To be honest, I don't mind paying more to get renewable energy up and running. When it comes to my cars though, having been in a model x etc. I would rather drive and enjoy the sounds and quirks of my cheap Celica than a £60k Tesla, but thats a personal choice, silent electric cars just don't do it for me for a fun car and I couldn't care less about 0-60 times
