Cars can be registered in 2007 but were cars that were the last of the revup cars just sat in warehouses waiting to go out. So you will see occasionally that oddity occur. As above, its very easy to spot an HR - dual intakes is the best way (beware bonnet bulges as many owners swap out the old one for a bonnet bulge for aesthetic reasons). Just lift the bonnet and the answer is bang in front of you. Just avoid Junction 17 altogether, if anything goes wrong they will break every law in the land to fob you off, its just not worth it there are so many other zeds available at better prices in better condition.

Ha! Yes it wasnt interesting in the slightest, I just wanted to test out the camera but also the 3 stem mount I had stuck to the outside of the car to make sure the whole lot didnt drop off, it was a nice safe place to try it out But yes, the image quality is really good, it has a case it can go in which has vents towards the back which should shield the mic I will try it in. Also might stick it towards the front of the car to try and capture the noise better (but so many curves hard to find a decent surface space to attach it). But overall, a brilliant piece of kit for £60. Came in a decent box as well which has all the attachments in so easy to store. For what I needed it for, absolutely no reason to go spending silly money on top end gear at all.

I bought the Apeman 4k camera in the end - paid £61 for it from Amazon. I took a quick video of it attached (without mic screening hence the wind noise) to the side of my car and took a drive around Richmond green. Its strange as its 4k on my laptop when watching the mp4 file via a media player but then on You Tube when I uploaded it the settings say its 1080/60 https://youtu.be/FJUdXD-AJnA In any case this is easily good enough for what I wanted the camera for. Small, cheap and easy use to capture the moment. Not sure on the image stability function, its weird watching the car move around but the rest of the scene stay stable - shows the function works really well but to feel in the moment I guess you should feel all the undulations of the road!

There is no need to bump this, you posted it up at midnight and no one has responded by 9am. Some common sense required here along with some patience.

I have to say for a hundred quid it's pretty tempting

Don't tell her you have it Then when you go out for the night with mates and you suddenly see the car going around and you get home and its back where it was when you left it, you know what to do

Anyone had a go at some of their devices (or similar?) https://www.rewiresecurity.co.uk/ I would be the first to admit my car is hardly worthy of a tracker given its modest value, but still it would be good to know that in the event of it being stolen there will be a window of opportunity to track it (before its pulled apart). There are some serious hardware solution out there costing hundreds/thousands so a little searching turned up these devices which hide away in the car and use a sim card to transmit location data to your phone. On some there is even the capability to turn on a mic in the device to listen in on what is being said in the car. So cost wise, you are looking at circa £80 for the hardware, a sim card will need topping up every 2-3 months to a total of around £5 each time, and you pay £20 a year for the app. Its an interesting low cost option - anyone tried this sort of stuff out yet?

Dont tail-gate them then Dan

I think like anything, drive to within the limits. Tyres 'generally' don't find ditches, bad drivers are much more likely find ditches

My wifes 55 plate megane feels nimble compared to a zed

Gave the Apeman cam a test and its pretty impressive! Image stabilisation is really good and picture quality great as well. A little dark in the picture (but as expected by the reviews) however shot some test footage in 4k when uploading it to You Tube it gets a bit funny when playing back and judders? It plays back fine on quicktime on my mac but gets upset on you tube, also it doesnt upload in over 1080?

On the hunt, first time 350Z buyer... help!

As above, buy the best car you can get for your money. I have never understood why someone investing thousands in to a car, which you will put thousands of pounds of fuel into, probably spend thousands of pounds in mods on, hundreds on tyres so on and so forth would deliberately buy one car over another because you save 250 quid. Just no sense in that logic at all. Sure buy a low tax one because its in better condition, but as above, buy the best car for your money. -

To be completely frank, do not whatever you do buy a Zed based on the annual taxation cost. Buy the best car you can for the money. The extra annual tax is something like £250 per year, or 20 quid a month, or around a fifth of a tank of petrol. Buy the best car you can for the money you have available. You could go buy a lower tax band car over a higher one and the clutch goes, that a grand straight out the window and suddenly that tax saving seems irrelevant. -
Ah, buy your E92 but if you ever get overtaken by a Mustang on track you must hang your head in shame and remember I was right TWR VXR8 with money left over to blow on many things for it? (just trying to think outside the obvious..!)

actually a quick google of Mustang Track Car pops this up, looks pretty cool actually!

If you are just popping along no problem. We park at the end of the car park away from the pub. No revving etc in the car park cheers!
