Well went and had a look today, managed to knock it down by another £100 and thats literally as much as i could do. Car itself is in fantastic condition and drives well. So i stuck down a deposit and it is getting an MOT and service done on it tomorrow and im going to pick it up on tuesday morning Also when i opened up the bonnet i noticed an AEM cold feed induction kit which definitely makes the engine sound beefier under load. Looks to have had a new OE nissan exhaust very recently also and possibly new cats along with two new T1R's on the rear. So overall im very happy with it and cant wait to go pick her up on Tuesday

If replacing with dead pads you would probably have to "wind" your pistons in the calliper back a bit in order for them to fit in, id imagine its a case of popping off the fluid tank cap and literally pushing them back with your hands. Im sure someone more knowledgeable will be along with the correct method. But in the past i havent had any issues with pads on any cars being a pain in the arse to do.

Have any of you guys tried Pagid RS14's? I had them on my VX220 that was used on track frequently and they were stunning, just took a bit to get some heat into them, i.e. brown pants coming off a motorway slip road and needing to brake, but you learn and brake earlier to get some heat. Im currently using Mintex 1144's but i heard the the 1155's should be a good compromise between a road pad and a car being used on track every so often. Sorry to chime in, as i assume there is the usual stuff people have tried for Zeds just offering a point of view from another area, as in the VX community no one uses EBC pads unsure of the reason but its sort of taboo. So i guess it may be the same for other stuff here.

Well thats the plan with the mot retest, hopefully they will cop the price of a couple of tyres and some disks. If not i shall enjoy the car as is and get started on things id like to do in the new year

haha no my username isnt to do with the song, although it is a good song Trouble is i have come to a pre arranged deal that basically comes to me paying £400 for it, which if the condition of the car is ok im happy with. I did originally want a pre 06 UK GT pack azure blue, with a nismo kit. However this one is; cheap, close, and very easy as i can get rid of some cars off my driveway with no hassle lol. Also I will be able to do other things like fit a Nardi wheel to it as the only gripe i had when driving zeds in the past was the sterering wheels which i wasnt a huge fan of. In time id also like to obtain the rest of the nismo kit probably replica stuff if its any good maybe even a vertex style kit. Some Work CR Kai's in a decent size and offset, suspension...oh the list goes on haha. I have told myself to keep it standard ish for a while if i do get one but coming from a VX220 background i think i will always have the mod bug, even if its little things like the tape player mod (which i will probably do the day i get it) haha.

Well i shall report back after my little trip on sunday Yep have an NA have been part of .org for the past 4 years of ownership, just feel its my time to leave it for the moment and in all honesty a zed is actually a much more practical car for me lol.
-
Thanks for the advice i think it might also have a Nismo exhaust as well as the kit (i will be honest the nismo kit was one of the things on my want list). What kind of price we talking for front disks? I suppose things like that are going to cost me more on a zed than a VX haha. I do intend on spending a bit of money with scope to get a full stainless manifold back system anyway so i wasnt hugely fussed by the exhaust "damage". But would want to keep it as is until the new year anyway so would be beneficial that it doesnt just fall off haha

Hi guys i havnt posted for a while as i have been out of the country. Now im back and have been on and off the phone all day today looking at a specific 350Z Link below if anyone is interested. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p I have come up with a "deal" that i am happy with and if on both our parts everything is as has been said i will hopefully make an agreement on Sunday after viewing. I have come from a VX220 background and just dont fancy another winter in a cold aluminium tub and have wanted a zed for a couple of years now. Your thoughts on the car would be much appreciated, i know its an import as i spotted a few things that didnt look right apparently it came in to the UK in 2004 from Osaka Japan. I also did a previous MOT check as i got the V5 reference number and nothing outrageous cropped up. Only tyres and disks generally. The last MOT has an advisory for: Front Exhaust has part of the system slightly deteriorated (7.1.1a) Nearside Front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1) Offside front tyre has a cut in the side wall but has not reached the cords. Front head lamps have different colour outputs. Front brake discs are deteriorated I have requested the car has a new MOT upon purchase so if any of this stuff has got worse it wont be me that needs to pay for it. Firstly i must ask what do you guys think of the price? Also i plan to do stuff like the plenum spacer and a cold air feed induction kit, and im sure it will go on from there haha. Cheers guys

That looks fantastic!

I currently drive a VX220, and im selling at the moment in order to buy a zed lol. Its basically the same as an S2 elise. I have lived with the "quirks" for over 3 years and the chassis is amazing and as others have said handle sooooo well. Thing is they really are barebones as thats the whole point. Take one for a drive and see what you think but they are not fun cars to own during the colder months.
-
I think i do remember that car in all honesty and everything you have said in your post is pretty much what i expected and the reasons im changing from the VX One cant have all the bases covered so some compromises must be made, which after m time with the VX220 im more than happy to do.

on .org im known as madfreebird. Did you used to have the stage 5 VXR by any chance? If so you actually follwed me on the L2B about 3 years back lol. Like i say i do remember you from back then anyway, and your right about the VX crew. Great bunch of people, although a lot of the awesome people have moved on now. People like Fab are still about and in all honesty always will be. I intend on getting to some VX meets even if i do have a z, I have made some good friends over the past three or so years. You may also remember me from having LY79 that burst into flames and died it was minimis old car. Thre a rod in Cyl 3 and well the rest was history. What are your thoughts on the zed anyway after having such lightweight nimble toys before hand? I personally thought that the 350 deals with its weight very well, it doesnt at all feel as heavy as it infact is. It also has the creature comforts i would like, such as an actual interior
-
I remember you off .org mick do you still have the VX or have you done what i am about to do Thing is currently i dont feel like i will miss the VX experience but i know down the line i will. Shame i didnt win the euro millions then i could have both
-
After this past week of awesome weather here, i have been blasting around in the VX220 with the roof off loving every second of it. However i still really want shot of it as my brain keeps wondering "just imagine if you were blasting around in your new zed " I just really want it to sell so i can start my hunt my 350 Cant wait to come and join the fold am i sad?
-
I would probably buy this if i didnt have my VX220 to sell first. If that as a P/X is of possible interest let me know, if not i will hope mine sells quick lol Very nice Z and really the kind of car im looking for
-
This is up on PH too i think, i saw it and it made me weep. What the actual **** have they done to the interior! Is there some kind of story behind it all? apart from the obvious "max power" stuff
-
I had a proton satria sprint at 17, which was a 1.6. I paid £1600 for 3rd party, fire and theft insurance on that (just me on the policy)

id like to know how the salesman managed to do that good of a job on a z :/ what a plum

i tried so hard to watch the vid, but my eyes were pinned on your avatar haha -
I personally really like this car, if only my bloody VX220 would sell quickly id probably snap this off you! My VX is up for £10k at the moment, im in a similar position in the fact that the subtle things one does to a car to improve upon whats already there is just something a lot of people do not understand. I had some laughable trader offers on the VX, the best being Adrian Blythe at £7500 but that still seems like a pisstake. Hope it goes well for you, and that my car sells so i can come and have a look at yours
-
pretty sure this car was up on PH a while ago too

Now i cant decide if i want to work in this place or in the ferrari factory! I watched an awesome vid showing the sand casting they use to produce the engine for a 612 today. I will have a quick look for that, if i find it ill post a link
-
I dont think this is too bad of an effort for a student haha With my ps3 and wheel in shot for GT5 you lot have some seriously nice setups.

Does sound very much like the power steering imo, like someone else said check the fluid level. Power steering tends to make some noise if the fluid level is low.

Hey all, hoping to be a new owner :)

My VX is a 2.2 NA as opposed to the 2.0 turbo. They are lighter due to the aluminium block and handle better as a result. I never played with an Elise on track but i am reliably informed lotus owners do not like us haha The VX220 is a lotus elise S2 chassis, with a bigger engine and a better (imo) looking body shell, and rare as rockinghorse @*!# The getting in and out is a skill you acquire when owning one haha, bit of an arse when someone parks too close to you in a car park! Many a time have i had to take the handbrake off and push the car out of a space before i can get in. The pistonheads lot were amused last meet XD I have seen a few z's now that interest me i think i will try and take my time over it, but my excitement gets the better of me more often than not. But i will bug you all for as much advice and such as i can when going to have a look at one Firstly i will make sure the VX goes, as i would be really annoyed if i found the perfect z that i couldnt buy due to still having the VX. Thanks again guys
