Its an import so a huge lump of it is in KM But Keyser had it before me, i use it daily I meant it looks like it only did 6k miles from April 2010 to April 2012. Thats not bad going for 2 years!

Noone I know likes him incl myself. I think what annoys me most about him is that he harps on about how he`s been in the motor trade for 300 years and yet most of the time he pays over the odds for some shed of a car, never spots all the problems with it, then ends up selling it for a lot less than he thinks - very often making a loss on the car in the process.

Looks like it was hardly used at those previous mileages!

Looking for a Z - does anyone know this car?

Looks like a nice car. As others have said, that car would have come with the 18" Forged Alloy Rays wheels as standard. According to the 2006 Nissan Press Release I have, all 350z`s from 2006 onwards in the UK had them as standard. Prior to this, they were a £1000 extra. Good news is, Rays wheels arnt expensive and you can easily pick up another set cheapily and recoupe some money by either selling those wheels off, or just keep them for winter use. Its the 313HR one, so certainly the one to have and that bodykit sets it off nicely. From what I can see that looks like the standard exhaust. Aside from checking the service history has been done correctly. P1, P2, P1, P3, P1 and repeat. P1 is minor (cheap) and P2 / P3 are essentially the same and are major (expensive). At only 48k miles, id expect some of those services to have been done by year rather than mileage, but even so they should all add up. I sold my 313HR at 44k miles and it was just coming up to a major service, so that one might be similar. One thing you want to make sure of is that since its a 2007 model, it will be due a spark plug change this year, so make sure this is done as they arnt cheap, nor the easiest things to get to. Theres no cambelt to worry about on these, and the clutch shouldnt be a problem at that mileage. I would also have a look at the drive belt on the front of the engine - you can easily see this when you open the bonnet. My 313HR used to shred this every 20,000 miles, Nissan didnt know why as none of the pulleys or tensioner were worn or mis-aligned. I replaced mine with a heavy duty Gates belt in the end. The belt isnt expensive and is an easy 5 minute DIY job to replace. -
Definitely. Im quite an experienced mechanic and I still enjoy watching Edd working on the cars, it has taught me a lot of about what to look out for on certain cars and things like that. As for filming in a day... well, on a lot of these sort of car programs, they seem to work on all the cars in the series at the same time. Its as if they go out on the Monday & buy all the cars, then work on them in the week and sell them all on the Friday - as sometimes in the background in the workshop you see loads of other cars which are shown being worked on later in the series. Wheeler Dealers does seem quite good in that they either dont do this, or they hide the cars well enough so you dont see Edds workshop littered with other cars.

Yep, your right. Although double glazing salemen do seem to be a lot more pushier than others. I remember when I fitted new windows and doors in my old house, I had safestyle out and the guy was one of the most aggressive sales people ive ever dealt with. Quoted me double the price of anyone else, then tried to offer me £1000 less cos I was near a school (?!), then knocked off a bit more. He even did the "phone my manager" trick and the manager basically asked me what i wanted to pay. In the end I had to physically "help" the salesman out of the front door along with his bags and bags of sample products he`d carried into my house. Next day the guys manager phoned me up and basically offered to match my cheapest price at which point I told him that even if he offered to do it for free I wouldnt due to the fact he had tried to rip me off by double the amount initially. I went in the end to a local company who had fitted my neighbours windows - so i could check their quality first hand. They did a cracking job.

Hold out ya hand, he`s hot to trott. It certainly does. Theres a massive long thread on Piston Heads about it all, which sort of kicked off when on Wheeler Dealers they bought that Porsche Boxster for £1000. There was suggestions that maybe theres a "TV appearance fee" which they pay to sellers, but by all accounts, the prices they pay do seem to actually be genuine, but from then on its all pretty much very "creative" with the truth. 9/10 they do loads of extra bits to the cars they dont tell you - stuff like new tyres and other replacement bits. Then more often than not, the "sell" is totally fake. Its sold to a member of the crew, or someones friend. The cars they have done up very often appear on ebay or at various garages for sale for a long time without anyone buying them, even though on the telly you have just seen someone buy it. This seems to happen a lot more now than previously.

Result! I played the usual game with Admiral this year when my renewal came in and they tried to charge me double the price I was getting on confused.com. Quick call and they happily halved the premium without questioning.
-
They certainly are cheap now. I was looking at Range Rover Sport prices 2 years ago when I bought my zed and they have more than halved since then. Like others have said, its the endless list of people who have had problems with them and the expensive costs which put me off. One comment which I think Chesterfield made on another thread a while back has stuck in my mind though and that was he got a RR for the safety aspect and that if someone ran into him at 70mph in their car he`d know he`d be okay!

Its perfectly legal to kill vermin like pigeons, rats, rabbits & grey squirrels. Around my way they cause thousands of pounds of damage to farmers crops and they are more than happy to let you shoot them. Its also perfectly normal to eat what you shoot (certainly pigeons & rabbits) as they are low fat, healthy, free and very tasty. Id much rather know the history of what im eating rather then buying some random bit of meat in the supermarket not knowing how its been treated or where its come from. As for the pop gun comment, its not as if we are talking about some kids toy cap gun. The air rifles mentioned are professional (and expensive) weapons and more than capable of a clean humane instant kill at 45 yards, which is around about the same range as id aim to shoot something with my shotguns. -
Ive been tempted quite a few times now they are more affordable, but as someone else said, it would have to sit in the drive and I wonder how long before some scrote scratches it or breaks into the house looking for the keys.

oooh would match my wifes handbag! -
Bloomin expensive though tool boxes! I want another / bigger one it will probably be my next major purchase for the ZedShed - although I'm planning an extension on the shed at the moment I know mate. I kept thinking just how many tools I could buy for the cost of the box to keep them all in. But, it was a Christmas treat. It is lovely though, on wheels, has 6 or 7 drawers and its so strong you can stick an engine on top of it and rebuild it. Sometimes I find myself just opening & closing the drawers, or taking it for a "walk" around the garage..... Also gave me an excuse to buy more tools to fill up the drawers! Its this baby... http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/clarke-cbb217bgb-7-drawer-tool-cabinet-black

What he says. I started off with a 1.5hp 50litre compressor and it wasnt much cop. Now ive a 2.5hp 100litre one and its ideal for what I want. Can use impact wrench and all the normal air tools without any problems. Ive yet to try spraying much with it, but if you get a top fed spray gun, they use less pressure and so it should also work with that too. My brother in law has a small 50litre one and he uses air tools without any problem, but the poor little compressor has to be working flat out all the time to try and reach the pressure it needs. Id start by having a look in machine mart and speak to the people there. If you do decide to buy from them go on one of their VAT free days. For air tools. I made the mistake of buying all the bits separately from different places. I then found out Halfords do a start pack kit which contains all the tools you are likely to need and worked out a lot cheaper.

Ah... see my missus hates me shooting anything and so put paid to me shooting pigeons, squirrels and rabbits. Apparently they are all cute things and the pigeon I may shoot may not be the nasty one whos dumped on my car, but some innocent by-stander..... at least thats her logic. Ive got an air arms s410 which ive lost count of the birds ive had with that now. Have to say pigeons are lovely & tasty tho. And at least you know its not horse. -
I never knew that. I assumed as they were mega cheap that if they broke (ive broken a few of their sockets in the past) that you just bin it and buy another one. I knew Halfords Pro have lifetime warranties so ive been trying to buy them instead now for a lot of my stuff. One mistake I made when I first started buying tools is picking bits up from here & there. For example, with my air tools. I bought a impact wrench & all the sockets, an air sander, a nibbler, an air chisel, spray gun, tyre inflater etc. etc. etc. Then I walked into Halfords 6 months later and they do a starter kit containing nearly all those bits for a fraction I paid. Doh. One of my favourite purchases has to be my black/gold pimp edition tool chest, with roller bearing drawers. Very nice, and keeps all my tools under lock & key.

I hate the way they sit there watching you spend hours washing your car, then once you have finished the 2nd coat of waxing they fly over and dump all over it. -
Agree with all of them. Those ratchet spanners are very good, ive a set of those halford ones myself. The breaker bar is a must, saves you messing up your torque wrench. Speaking of which, a torque wrench is one of the best things ive bought, that and a wire brush. Oh and an Angle Grinder. Think ive got to the stage now where ive nearly every tool i could possibly need, incl air tools & welders, but I still manage to find excuses to buy more.

Personally id wait and go for a 313 model if you can wait and save up a bit longer.

I got done once after being stopped by a marked traffic car with just one officer in it. It was his word against mine, no witnesses or video evidence, which confirms what Ekona said. In actual fact this particular cop car was so far behind me he only actually had visual sight of me once I had stopped at some traffic lights and sat there for 3 or 4 minutes. So his evidence was sketchy at the best, but the 187 year old magistrate obviously believed his word over mine. I never knew that. Ive been pulled in the past by unmarked cars with all their blue lights flashing and thought you had to stop. Or do you mean, unmarked as in non police cars or unmarked cop cars without blue lights?
