This is standard with most makers. My mate had his Vectra serviced and they didnt touch the air filter which was black as your hat and full of straw / fag ends. Likewise on my beemer, which had its first service at 18,000 miles they didnt touch the air filter but happily changed the pollen filter as part of the service. Amazes me when you think I can get a vectra air filter for about 4 quid off ebay and takes all of 5 minutes to change over.

As Ekona said they are very nice cars but make sure you can afford the running costs. I very nearly bought one before I changed my mind and went for my 313 zed. They certainly are coming down in price now and there are some bargains to be had. Theres also a lot of rough ones out there so make sure you know what you are looking at! An added bonus I found was that they were loads cheaper for me to insure than my zed!

Be interesting to see what comes of this one. Hate scumbags like this. If that is the guy on facebook he looks about 8 stone wet through so will probably fill his pants if anyone turned up at his door. Good luck with it all.

The juke is an acquired taste. I got a brand new 1.5dci one for the missus back in Dec 2011. Took me quite a while to warm to it but now its not a bad fun little car. It has its quirks and the engine took about 15000 miles to loosen up. It still has a massive turbo lag being a little diesel engine, but once you get used to slipping the clutch and staying in a lower gear when you approach roundabouts etc its easy enough to drive. Handles pretty good too on the back rounds for such a high up car. Wouldnt mind test driving a nismo one just to see how they compare!

Big time. Wow!

P1 is around £140 at main dealers when I checked last. Most people will do it themselves as a Genuine Nissan Oil Filter is about £5, oil was £35. For that price, you can afford to replace the air filters as well if required. As long as you keep the receipts etc to prove you bought the bits, most buyers will be happy. Couple of things id also say on your car as its an HR. Has it had the plugs done? They are every 6 years or 60k miles, so id expect yours is approaching the 6 year mark. Also, on my HR i noticed it would shred the auxiliary/fan belt every 20k miles. Its a common "feature" of the HR model. The rubber belt is on the front of the engine, easily visible when you open the bonnet and have a look. Nissan refused to do anything about it, said it wasnt "normal" wear but they werent sure why it would shred every 20k as the pulleys etc were all alligned correctly. They charge £85 to replace incl belt. I bought a gates belt which is heavier duty and replaced myself in 5 minutes.

New door panel fitted by bodyshop now window fails. Help!
rabbitstew replied to PKAT's topic in 350Z Technical
Good luck. In my experience it depends very much on the bodyshop. My wifes car went in for some work following her driving into the back of someone. When the car came back several things didnt work, including the air conditioning motor, the engine management light was on & the coil pack was faulty. All were fine before the accident. Bodyshop refused to do anything saying it was nothing to do with them, insurance company said they were "consumables" and were our problem. Maybe a co-incidence, maybe not, but to us it seemed strange that they were both fine before hand. -
I remember driving over to Coventry for a wedding in my zed and had some guy follow me for about 8 miles or more until I stopped at a roundabout when he wound his window down and told me how amazing my K1 exhaust sounded.

Wow... interesting err photos there! Might have to bookmark that seller! Have a look at the rest of the stuff he's selling she's in all of them..!! I have... Thing is though shes quite rough, so he`d probably actually sell more if she wasnt in the pictures.

Just a thought on this one, I wonder if the garage tested the brakes on the rollers or actually on the road using the old fashioned manual method like they should do on a zed. When I had mine MOT`d the guy said the machine they used to test the brakes whilst on the road was so sensitive that it was guaranteed a pass even even if the brakes were barely working.

What he said, the handbrake is next to useless.

That is really shocking stuff and certainly would put me off a 370z roadster.

Very good price indeed there. The trade in price of that car would be miles less than that, so you have got a good result. Loads of cars to choose from now for £8500!

It not only depends on company it depends on who you are speaking to at that company. I had about a seperate dozen phone calls last year with Admiral when I wanted to add an old banger car to my policy to save me using the zed every day for work. I had 20 years NCB on the zed`s policy. Every single time, Admiral went through the prices and it was going to cost me about a £1000 extra to add a £500 car to the policy, even though the risk to Admiral was drastically lower if i was using an old car for work rather than the zed. Each time they said they could not use any NCB on the other car, so they would have to charge me the full price as if id no NCB at all on the extra premium for the 2nd car. What was hilarious was that each time they were sure they could offer me a "good price as a multi car policy" to "save me money" and yet it worked out cheaper for me to just insure the old banger seperately with another company. And yet as we can see on this thread, for other people they happily duplicate NCB or offer reduced prices etc. Guess its pot luck as to who you speak to on the phone.

Spotted this morning on Huntingdon Road heading out of Cambridge, silver coupe, think it was a 2005 or 2007 model, certainly pre HR. LX0? XUN

Spotted this morning at around 9am, heading into Higham Ferrers from the A45/A6. Nice silver coupe. MK51 OR*

I think the seller is hoping if he is saying a non cat D one is worth 2 grand more. I havent checked the prices recently, but i thought the 313 models were touching 9k, so a non 313 model isnt likely to be 11 grand. It does look like a very nice car however, lovely colour and ive never seen 2 tone seats like that. Normally the alezan orange ones are solid orange, not with the black middles - i wonder if they were a special order like the seller says, or if someone has redyed the middle bit? Also, if its a 6 year old car, the spark plugs would probably be due, so make sure thats been done.

Not 4WD but last year my winter car was a 2003 Peugeot 307HDI. Absolutely massive boot on it, huge. Plenty of room inside for 4 adults. It was a 2.0 with only 90bhp but me & a bunch of mates all went to Manchester & back in it no problem. It was my wifes old car, she`d used it all year until we got her the Nissan Juke, so I decided to use her old car over winter. It was returning 56mpg day in day out, on my 90mile commute, never got stuck in snow and only expense I had to fork out on it over the 18 years we owned it was 2 new tyres and front suspension top mounts. Cheapest car ive had maintenance wise. We sold it for £1600 with 120k on the clock, having done 40k miles on it in the time we had it. Not the most exciting car in the world, but for room, economy and cheapness I couldnt fault it. Compared to my mk4 golf, it was certainly a lot cheaper to run, although not quite as good build quality & driving experience.

I considered the Z4M when i was looking for my zed, but it didnt have much more power then the 313 zed I ended up getting and on the road was neck & neck in performance. I think the Z4M was something like 334bhp and the 313 is 309bhp with identical torque. What swung it for me was I actually prefered the looks of the zed, as well as the zed coming in slightly cheaper. As others have said, cracking cars, great engines, but for me it wouldnt be the next step after a zed. In fact I didnt even consider one when I chopped my zed in last year.
