I was offered £5.5k for it from Regtransfer. Im sure you know, but id take any offers from them with a pinch of salt. They said one of my plates was worth £2000, then after about 18 months of them unable to sell it, i just let the retention certificate expire on it and gave up on it as it had only cost me £250 in the first place.

My mate went from a 500bhp (or something like that) RX7 to a Smart Car. After I stopped laughing he took me out in it and its awesome. Such fun. Its RWD too and the fun we had trying to get it out of my driveway which is on a slight incline was interesting. After we realised it was RWD we hit a local carpark and did a few donuts in it. He loves it.

I got on well with falkens on my zed. About 600quid full set fitted.

As above, how long is a piece of string really! You could be talking about bodykits & spoilers then paint, or uprating the brakes, or if yours is an older car, maybe air filters exhausts & remap etc...
-
Wasn't he raving about Autogrip and Linglongs the other day too? I thought it was the YingYang Ditchfinders he preferred?

oh dear! We looked at these when my wife was looking for a car. I quite liked them but she decided to go with the Nissan Juke instead.

No. As far as the garage is concerned they usually want to get it in / out as quickly as possible. Servicing is usually given to the YTS trainee lad who has something like 20 minutes allocated to do a full service. Sometimes if the garage is looking to get more cash out of you, they may check the tyres & brakes and recommend that you need new discs etc... in such cases it pays to check yourself as more often than not they are just trying it on.

I remember following a Porsche through a local town one Saturday afternoon in my 313 Roadster. Roof down. A whole bunch of kids on the side of the road completely ignored the Porsche and screamed out at me "Nice car mister!!!!" which made me chuckle. Someone else once mentioned that kids probably recognize the 350z from Gran Turismo and other such console games and so when they see one in real life they know what it is and associate it with being a super car. But in general, i found my car got more attention than nearly any other car ive had. Even popping to the local shop to get a pint of milk, id walk out and some complete strange would say to me "nice car mate". I remember going to the local parts place to get some oil for the wifes car only to come out to find the owner standing there staring at my car and telling me how rare they were and how he hadnt seen many roadsters. Even the MOT place I went to commented on how rare it was! I remember going to a tyre place to get a set of 4 tyres fitted once and I actually had 5 fitters running around my car as if it was some sort of formula 1 tyre change - they ignored all the other customers!

Not supprised. One of the biggest things which puts potential buyers off is if the seller has only had the car for a few months. The buyer assumes something is wrong with it and just want to off load it. Not only that unless you are buying the cars mega cheap you will more than likely loose money when you sell, especially if you are after a quick sale. If you want a car to hep you move stuff like telly's and tables then the zed isn't the one for that. Maybe go for a van? -
I stuck ferrodo ds2500 pads in my brembos on the zed and were very impressed with them. They werent cheap at £250 a set, but certainly were an improvement over the OEM pads.
-
Theres also a whole bunch of age related things too such as sparkplugs, brake fluid etc... so it depends on what age your car is as to if these need to be replaced at the same time.
-
You can if you want - the idea being it stops them rusting together etc... but in my experience ive never bothered and have not had any problems with discs rusting onto hubs, even after 80k miles. The copper grease on the back of the brake pads can help stop squealing but if i remember rightly when I changed the pads on my zed the originals already had anti-squeal shims which I just transferred to the new ferrodo pads.

Buying 313 - can't quite find info I'm looking for
rabbitstew replied to NeilMH's topic in 350Z General
As a side, ive lost count of the number of car adverts ive seen where the garage says its a 313 model purely because its a 2007 or newer car when clearly from the photographs its not a 313. Thats one reason when I bought my 313 I actually checked what I needed to look for when I bought it. Interestingly though, the Glass`s guide traders use have never heard of the 313 model. When I part ex`d my 2007 car the price Glasses guide showed was for the older 300 model and not a 313. -
Mad!

Buying 313 - can't quite find info I'm looking for

One of the reasons I bought my HR is because you dont really need to do much to it. Nissan spent god knows how many hours squeezing the very last drop from the engine which is why its 80% new over the old one. They even modified the cooling to improve reliability to some of the cylinders, added ram air, lowered the engine in the chasis to improve handling etc. etc. The list is endless. If you look at the 2007 HR sales pdf you`ll see loads of stuff. So, whilst with an older DE car or revup you would add a pendulum, air filters, exhaust, remap and about get the same power as an HR, with an HR you already have it. Problem there is, cos the HR is so highly tuned, adding an exhaust or air filters doesnt do much if anything. Even a remap wont add much to it. Personally apart from add a different exhaust to make the exhaust note a bit more fruitier i didnt do anything to mine and wasnt disappointed. Temptation though is always in the back of your mind that if you want to go FI then the HR engine is the strongest one to do it on. Downside, well apart from the higher tax, the extra cost an HR will cost you to buy. -
Wow, nasty. I bet footage of this was up on youtube before the car hit the water...

I guess if your being strict then you should, same as if you have non OEM tyres, brake pads or discs, or even if you change the stereo. But, in reality, noone does.

Yep, just laughing at this one... "I wont be bidding I'm afraid. I have spoke with my mechanic guy again and he has suggested I should be looking for a 4WD as he thinks I might prefer being driven from both the back and front simultaneously." -
Just about to test a 350 couple of questions

Good question mate )) not promising anything, but theres plenty more cars to try usually I have my cars from 2 weeks to a month )) see how it goes, the only downside is 2 seats idd say- thats why I always wanted the Infinity G35 (Skyline thing ) Your insurance company must love you. Mine charges about £30 every time I change anything, so if your getting through about 20 cars a year thats a lot of fee`s! -
Soon adds up. When I was using my zed for my daily commute to work & back it was costing me nearly £500 a month purely on super unleaded.... I worked out it would be cheaper to actually rent a flat near where I work in the week!
