  1. I had no problems at all with my 350z on bumpy roads and my god there are loads around my way. The only time I noticed issues was when all 4 tyres were nearly bald, at which point the car tram lined like mad and followed the road a lot. New tyres soon fixed this problem.
  2. Snap. This was me a few years back. I ended up getting a 20k mile 350z HR for about £16k and for that money i was looking at a much higher mileage M3. For that sort of money i guess you`ll be looking at 370z`s which are about 3 years old so out of warranty. If you buy from a main dealer like I did, they will give you bit of a warranty. I cant remember how much mine was, think it was 6 months. However, you`ll find this will only cover major things. Anything classed as "consumable" like belts, brakes, clutch, etc etc etc wont be covered. If you get the roadster one then the roof isnt covered, neither is bodywork. I was left wondering exactly what is covered!
  3. The problem with those things though is what when I see one, my first immediate thought is "he`s got something in there worth nicking...." What i usually do with the up & over door on my garages is to bolt the door shut from the inside by drilling a hole through the side of the door & frame, or bolting some sort of metal over it so you cant open it. Just means you have to go in through the side door and unbolt it before you can open it.
  4. Scumbags. Id definately be wary now though as once they have nicked stuff, very often they wait a few months for you to replace the items, then they come back and nick the new ones. I love this idea!!!!
  5. All I can say is that you have a very understanding missus - either that or your single. Im lucky if i get 1 hour a month to spend in my garage and usually thats spent washing the car just to keep on top of it. His missus HELPS!!! :scare: indeed! Lucky bloke there!
  6. What he said. The P3 is basically identical to the P2 on the 350z. And on top of that you have age/mileage related things, such as brake fluid change, plugs etc. So it all depends on what is due at your mileage really.

  8. Honestly, it's all just down to the prep work and how much effort you put into the sanding Totally agree, ive resprayed more wheels than I can remember and the results look like brand new alloys. If you take your time sanding them down, then primering, a few coats of paint, then a lacquer they will look lovely. I usually try to do it in summer when you can do it outside and the wheels get nice & warm and dry quickly.

  10. The 80 year old bloke next door to me bought a new GT86 last year. Nice looking car!
  11. I used to treat my roof every 4 months with some AutoGlym cabriolet roof kit. There was a special cleaner solution you scrubbed into it first, let it dry then spray on this sealant stuff which waterproofed and conditioned the roof. Kept my roof looking brand spanking new. As for roof down in winter. I used to love it. Made that boring journey home from work much better, gazing up at the stars etc. You stick the heaters on and they are pretty good so your driving along in a nice bubble of warm air.
  12. If you end up driving 300 miles to view it then the chances are the seller knows he has you over a barrel then if it comes to price negotiations as they know you are very keen to buy. Id be more tempted to wait until a more local one come along. Theres no end of zeds out there and the really early ones like 2002/2003 are getting cheap now. My ex had an AA inspection on one of her cars and they were pretty thorough. This was before I met her and she didnt know anyone who knew about cars. Funny thing was the gearbox went 6 months later on the car, so i dug out the AA inspection to see what guarantee they have and to my surprise they actually had mentioned that the gearbox sounded a bit ropey and might be on the way out. And yet her dad still went and bought the car.
  13. Yep perfectly normal. You can reach back and give it a bit of a shove, or close it slightly then reopen. Id be wary of trying to force it too much. As others have said, I found it was down to the cold weather. The stiffer roof material seemed to strain the motors a bit more. It was fine in the summer.
  14. I would possibly agree, but seeing he's going to FRANCE I wouldn't want to know the data cost Its not too bad. When I went abroad I just buy a "data pack" and find that the sat nav doesnt use much data at all. But, if the OP is worried about that, id definitely go for an off-line sat nav app. I use iGo on mine for off-line use and that works really well. Scuse my ignorance, I am not an expert on this, but how does an offline navigation system know where you are if it is not using GPS or similar? Off-line as in not connected to the internet downloading maps & data in real-time. GPS signal is separate to internet signal, so it always knows where you are regardless of if you are on the internet or not, so an off-line system will just have all the maps stored locally.

  16. I just use my nexus 7 tablet with Waze, google navigation or iGo. If you tether it to your mobile phone you will get live data/traffic/speed camera updates. If you dont fancy that, you can just d/l tomtom or other off-line sat nav`s to it which dont require data connection. Has the added bonus I can use it as a media centre just plugged into the aux of my head unit.
  17. As an ex roadster owner there was only a couple of things I had. One was the roof doesnt like going down when cold. The user manual actually states something like "dont use the hood if its less than 8 degrees warm". It can stick half way down, at which point you need to switch to close to make the hood close slightly, then switch back to open for it to click past the sticking point. However, you can happily drive the car with the roof down when its like 1 degree out there. Stick the heater on and you`ll be in a bubble of nice warm air. The only other roadster issue is that the roof has horizontal supports which go under it. The one directly over the drivers is under tension when the roof opens and I found on mine, it peeled the metal back from around the support bar, which affected the hoods operation. Nissans solution was to hammer it back and rivet it back in place.
  18. Nope, there wouldnt have been any damage as the shield usually is thin material and would just be rubbing on the disc slightly. Very strange though that they managed to bend the shield. Im assuming you have brembo`s and they really are the easiest pads in the world to change. Literally a 5 minute job each wheel without even touching the shield. pads and discs were replaced Ah that explains it. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

  20. Woah, let me stop you there. Theres no way id be collecting grub from the chip shop in my car. My god, the car would stink of fish & chips for weeks. :scare:
  21. Doing the service is pretty straight forward on the zed. I found the most time consuming bit was getting the undertray off under the engine. It had about 18 bolts which were all rusty. The oil filter is easy to get to, along with the air filters etc... both of which you can change with minimal tools needed. Good luck!
  22. Looks evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome.
