Indeed. My mate with all the free time in the world drives a crappy old mondeo. I drive a 911 turbo. No way would I be able to afford that on £50 a day labouring but happy job. Kind of makes it worth while!

Its a tough one, but really down to what you feel is best for you in your situation. Ive had all sorts of jobs over the years and I am currently doing a job which I dont really get much satisfaction from it but the pay is really good and its a fairly easy job. Downside is that I spend 3 hours a day commuting (£20 a day in petrol) and by the time I get home in the evening, put the kids to bed, then cooked tea, cleaned etc I dont end up sitting down for my evening meal until 9pm. I have tea, wash up then its virtually bedtime. So, my whole week revolves around getting up, getting to work, house work then bed. When it comes to the weekend I have a long list of stuff I would like to do, but usually that gets thrown in the bin and I end up getting dragged into doing family stuff. Which I dont mind, but it means I get virtually zero time to do anything I want, such as persue any hobbbies & interests. So I end going back to work Monday feeling like I havent really relaxed and done anything I wanted over the last week..... and repeat. My mate on the other hand, works from home and he finishes work at 5pm and bang, thats instantly an extra 4 hours every evening he gets to play computer games, workout, watch footie, go cycling and really do what he wants. Not to mention he gains 2 hours every morning not having to drive into work. So thats 6 hours (!!!) a day he gets to do what he wants. On top of that, his missus also does all the housework & cooking so thats extra time he gains there. So he is always relaxed and has so much spare time on his hands he doesnt know what to do with it. On the other hand, he doesnt get paid as much as me. But then thats the trade off - money vs quality of life. The reason why I am sticking it out atm is that in this day & age jobs are not for life. In the past ive been made redundant several times and can go from a decent office job earning decent money to being on the dole or working as a labourer on a building site for peanuts before you know it. So I figure I may as well try to earn & save as much cash as I can whilst I have the opportunity. Have to say a few years back I spent one whole year as a labourer, £50 a day, 12 hour days. It was hard work, but very rewarding. I got a tan, got in shape and didnt really have to use my brain much. I had a right laugh & banter with other lads, most of whom had been labouring since leaving school and thats all they had ever done. So whilst the cash wasnt good, the actual job satisfaction was great. Its not often you are lucky enough to be in the situation where you get paid really well for a job you love.

That rear wing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it depends on how much you need 4 seats. If I didnt need 4 seats then id be going for the 981. As I did need 4 seats I went for a 911 instead over the other options you mention.

My contract is up too now, currently using an s5. I am out of sync with the samsung release cycle, so my choices are either an s7 / s7e or wait until April for the s8..... Then at least then i will be back on cycle.

Wow. I would be going mental if that was my car, but hats of the to the guy above, thats a great result, awesome looking car and an option for the OP! -
Ive tried every sausage about nearly. All the different variety's from supermarkets as well as those from the local farmers markets etc. Cumberland, Lincolnshire, Pork/Apple, Pork/Leak, Beef, Chilli, Mexican, you name it... The best so far are definitely the LIDL Bratworsts. They taste so good and are huge. Im actually cooking a load as I type. Morning ritual at the weekends. Close 2nd is the tesco finest cumberland. The wife on the hand prefers those manky Richmond sausages you cook from frozen. No texture to them at all and taste of nothing.

Proposal permission from future father in law

Aha! I noticed that too. Both dads were crying at my wedding but the mothers were fine, which was quite funny. My missus`s dad was probably crying with relief mind you. -

Sigh, I wish. That would be the life. If the man was in charge still, id be able to stop cleaning the house and actually be able to have time to myself to persue my hobbies. -
Proposal permission from future father in law

For me it was more about asking for his blessing or approval and involving them in a very important decisions. More of we're grown ups, are going to get married, definitely don't need your permission just that it would be nice if you liked the idea. My father in law was I think just glad to get her out of the house at last. I agree. Its not as if you are actually really asking for his "permission" as such. Its just giving them a heads up ahead of actually asking her, and making them feel special that they are involved in the process. Its all quite exciting and they will feel honored that you told them first. As for "what if he says no?" - I think you will know well ahead of asking if he is likely to say no. Unless you are some sort of muppet and the father in law clearly hates you then he`s going to say yes. -

I didnt ask father in laws permission. Wish I had, as I really regret not. Mainly because im very traditional and so is he. I think he was quite upset that I didnt ask. -
Ive not noticed any negativity since I bought my Porsche back in May. You do get lots and lots and lots (and i mean LOTS) of attention though. Blokes seem to stop and stare at it. People will nearly crash their cars as they are too busy looking at it. Women, on the other hand, seem to have absolutely no idea what it is as ive lost count of of the number of women who have asked "errrr, what car is that?" The only car I ever noticed any hostility towards was actually my 350z HR Roadster. I actually had random strangers shouting "w@nker" at me more than once, for doing nothing other than driving along normally.

A very acquired taste in colour scheme there. The Midnight Blue is very much love/hate colour. I walked from one as I just didnt like it, but others (as above) love it. The frost white seats are extremely rare as noone wanted them.

Sounds like it could be a good deal for someone. Personally the mileage wouldnt worry me in the slightest.

HR spark plugs were more expensive than the DE ones when I looked the other year. Think they have a longer service interval on them also.

Err.. how big is your lawn? 5 acres?!

Brilliant. Love his door panels with all those speakers.

How different to drive is the 370Z compared to the 350Z?
rabbitstew replied to twobears's topic in 370z General
Its all a matter of personal opinion really. I had a 370z Roadster for a week whilst my 350z HR Roadster was back with Nissan for some work and personally I preferred my 350z. My 350z felt quicker, more responsive and I felt handled better. I also preferred the looks of the 350z - whilst the 370z is shorter and wider, the 350z actually looks shorter and wider due to the styling. So, for me, the 370z wasnt worth moving onto, - even if I was offered a direct swap. What I did really like about the 370z was the interior. The whole look/feel of the inside of the car was miles better than the 350z. Even the satnav and the multi-media / music streaming features the car I was given had. So much so, when I got back in to my 350z (even though mine was the facelift one) it really made my car feel dated inside. -
I had the same worry when I sold my 350z Roadster. There was a guy on here at the time selling one identical to mine and he really struggled for months. So in the end I part ex`d mine at a main dealer for my next car. Dealer obviously gave me 25% under what I could see similar cars advertised for privately, but at least I didnt have to worry about it sitting around and just not selling. Its kinda strange really. When I was buying the car, demand was high and I struggled to find one. When I did, I had to then pay full screen price for it and a premium over the same year/mileage coupe. But, come selling, they seem hard to shift as a private seller, with the coupe seeming to be more popular. £4850 does seem cheap, but if thats what the market dictated then thats the price. Its a hell of a lot of car for that money tho.

How about the car?

Or the "Load of" Bull worker as we used to call them!

I love the way you have a quick look around first to make sure noone is watching!
