A common idustry term - You F*ck up, you go up! That is so true, i have seen that in loads of companys ive worked for. You fail upwards! I have seen some shocking examples over the years of people who were completely useless at their jobs but amazingly got promoted! In my experience as an employee, I have found these days more and more companies seem to value degrees over experience. Especially American companies. Ive been turned down for jobs I had 15 years experience in over guys straight from Uni purely because they have had degrees. As an employer, personally it makes no difference to me if a guy has a degree or not. Id much rather see proven experience and give the guy tests myself to ensure he has the experience and knowledge I am looking for. I also look for someone who will fit in with the rest of the team and so personality and character is as important as me as having the right experience.

my thoughts exactly! with the window motors, clean the contacts up first and if they are knackered im sure you can swap them out for replacements cheap enough.

Me and my husband have over 900bhp between us.
rabbitstew replied to Blackie's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Cool idea! Well, in my garage I have: 350z - 309bhp Trackday Renault 5 GT Turbo - 225bhp Yamaha R1 - 142bhp Honda VFR750 - 100bhp Kawasaki ZXR750L2 - 115bhp Which adds up to 891bhp just for me. My missus has a crappy Peugeot Diesel which has 110bhp, so grand total is 1001bhp! I could add my lawnmower, but thats only got 3.5hp. -
Man that really sucks big time. Hate people who do that, they are just jealous losers. As someone else said, id really think before claiming of your insurance. You`ll have a large excess anyway, you`ll loose some ncb and your premium will at any rate rocket for the next 3 years or so. You are better off paying the repair shop your self. My missus had an accident last year in her convertible, I priced the bits up and with paint they came to about 300quid tops. But, she claimed off her insurance, had a 250quid excess, repair shop charged the insurance company nearly 3000quid for the bit of work and the repair was so bad we had to send her car back 4 times and it still wasnt right. She lost 3 years ncb and when the renewal came in it was so ridiculously high we had to sell the car. Now she drives a crappy old diesel which is still costing her more to insure than her old sports car!

wow, that will stand out a bit on the road! nice one! welcome to the forum! -
A lovely sunny day so I thought it was about time I posted a few pix of my 350.

snap, works fine on my 07 too.

Doubt if my local police will be interested in those. My missus went on the speed awareness course the other week and they told her that all the speed cameras in northamptonshire have been turned off as they cant afford to run them. They are only using mobile speed traps these days.

Its pretty easy to solder, theres only 3 wires or so to do here. The most fiddly bit i found was cutting through the tracks. If you are not careful you slip and cut too many!

Welcome to the forum! Certainly an excellent place to find out about the zed. If you have any questions the guys here are a very helpful bunch!

Welcome! That sure is one bright is200! I always fancied an is200, but they were always just out of my price range at the time.

do you have to be over 21 or 25 to drive 350z?
rabbitstew replied to shooter89's topic in 350Z General
If it makes anyone feel any better, I also got a car for my 21st birthday from my parents. It was a 1984 1 litre Austin Mini which cost them £400. Still, I was very grateful as the 25 year old 850cc Mini (which was all i could afford to run at the time) was on its last legs and I needed a car to get to work with. -

I think a lot of it has to do more with luck than hard work from my experience. Ive worked hard all my life trying to get up the career ladder and its amazed me sometimes how some people are just in the right place at the right time, or just had a bit of luck. They say people fail upwards, and I have really lost count of the times ive worked with people who really have been next to useless, then next minute they have been promoted into a higher paid job! As for youngsters being able to afford to buy supercars... I just really dont know how they can do it. My first job after leaving uni paid the grand sum of 14k a year. However, I have mates now who are a lot younger than me, and after leaving uni they literally walk straight into jobs paying 35k upwards when they are 21. But, in my town, the average salary is only 25k a year, so I dont know how anyone could save up for a supercar on that. -
Yes this last couple of months has been interesting with Range. Everyone saying 24p was rock bottom and its going to go through the roof. Now we are sitting at 14.75 when I checked earlier today, despite the various "good" news releases on Range`s website. Now people are suggesting that maybe by Christmas we should be back up to 24.

Ive got to take mine off this w/end to fit a replacement reflector..... not looking forward to it from the looks of these pictures.

I was in that exact Marshalls a few weeks back. They charge £50 + VAT per hour. Was the first time ive been in there and came away thinking I wouldnt want to go back. I had my car booked in for 11am to have a belt fitted. I arrive early. Receptionist bird jumps into my car and drives it around back. So already im getting a bit nervous that this receptionist is driving my car, but there you go. Then I find out that they dont bother getting the part ready so they can start the job at 11, but they then have to drive off to the warehouse (in their van), get the belt and come back so they dont actually start work on the job until about 11:30. Now at that particular Marshalls the garage backs onto the showroom, so you can see whats going on. So im standing there having a coffee and next thing I hear is my car being rev`d up like its about to launch from the starting grid at le-mans. Now, to be honest I was waiting for this to happen as I know what mechanics are like and I *knew* they wouldnt be able to resist trying out my K1 exhaust. Next thing I see is about 10 heads turn to look at me from in the workshop, incl the Parts Manager. The looks on their faces was priceless when they realised I was standing there watching them with my arms folded. It was like the look on a kids face when he`s been caught nicking sweets. At this point the mechanic doesnt realise he`s been busted and is still revving away, so there is a mad frantic commotion as the service manager and parts managers try to get his attention to make him stop revving my car up. It was like watching a carry on film. All in all, I didnt leave there until 12, so 1hr for a 20min job. But, they did only charge me for the 20mins. The funniest thing was this nervous mechanic coming out after a while looking very sheepish and appologising to me for revving my engine - clearly the manager had sent him out to speak to the big skinhead whose car he`d been messing with. I did find the receptionist a bit off and the whole atmosphere was not friendly. A complete contrast to the service staff at the Nissan dealer I bought the car from. Have you tried Bury St Edmunds Nissan? Thats not too far from Cambridge and I know another member on here was quoted a much lower price for work than the Cambridge one. Certainly pays to call around the local dealers.

lol!!!! sounds just like when me & the missus goes on holiday. She has massive suitcase and bags of shoes, i have a small rucksack and then loads and loads of booze....
-
my god. I saw those 3 suitcases sitting there next to that roadster and really did not think they would fit in, but they do! makes the boot look huge! And yet when i open mine it looks so small! Amazing!

I would also go for springs anyday. I had the same dilema on my old mk4 golf and opted for a set of coil overs. Waste of money really as once I set the height up, i never ever adjusted them again. Then, within about 12 months they were seriously coroded and one of the front had already started to leak. I threw them away and replaced them with some koni struts and springs. If you lower the car any more than 30mm your standard shocks may not like it as you are restricting their range. I also personally wouldnt be going any more than 30mm, else you will have serious ground clearance issues.

I`ll second that. I couldnt afford to insure a flash car when i was that age, so drove about in a crappy old mini which cost me £20 to buy. Insurance was still £400 mind you. -
Out of interest what is a full GT and a GT without the extras? We speaking about Rays and Sat Nav? According to Parkers the optional extras for the GT are: Met paint; tan leather interior and 18" RAYS alloys (http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-pric ... 0&options=) Cheers, S. With regards to the "claw marks" on the drivers side door handle. Thats common on these too. Im guessing either drivers rings, or they open the door with the keys in their hand. With regards to the Service History, im my personal opinion it all sounds fine to me, and would not put me off. 20k in last year is nothing really. Shows the previous owner just used it as a daily runner, in which case it must have been a reliable car. Over the next 12 months I expect I will do 25k in mine. Which for me is low miles as I used to do 35k a year. Those sorts of miles are more than likely to just be motorway miles. I think id rather have 20k of motorway miles compared to 4k of hard thrashed track day or weekend fun miles.
