Storm grey? I was going to ask what colour will you be painting it as it looked like grey primer! Looks like you have made some serious progress on it from the original pictures on this thread!

bargain for someone, GT4 wheels £225 ebay
rabbitstew replied to ersen.o's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
He must have surely done that deliberately. If you are selling something and you cant take a picture of it, you google for a photograph of the item you are selling. Those wheels look nothing like standard ones, so he must be either blind, or doing it deliberately. -
I was under the impression that 12months was the magic number after which you were entitled to some redundancy. At any rate, redundancy is normally something rubbish like 1 weeks money per year you have been there, so you would have had to work there for donkeys years to get anything. 3 months notice is pretty good though, but normally if you are surplus to requirements and are given your notice, i thought it was tax free? I maybe wrong but last 2 times I was sacked / redundant / laid off, im pretty sure it was tax free. Its entirely up to the company as to whether they make you work your notice period. Ive been lucky in that the companys i work for tend to want you off the premises as soon as they give you the notice, in case you start trashing things. I think also by rights the company if they make you work your notice period have to let you have time off for job interviews etc. etc. so it has its benefits.

Sorry to hear that, another one of my mates has also just been made redundant too. Timing on these things is never good. Last year, not only did my missus run off with someone else, but my car blew up, I had some serious health problems and I was made redundant 2 days later. Talk about timing. Took me 10 months before another job came up, in which time I worked as a labourer for £50 a day just to pay the mortgage. Certainly made me reflect on things, when one minute I was earning decent money as a Director, next minute I was shoveling cement with guys who had left school with nothing and was happy with the £50 a day. In fact I met all sorts of interesting down to earth people that summer doing that job. Something usually comes up quicker than you think, so treat this time as a holiday and make the most of getting things done around the house whilst you have the spare time.

no as said, its for jdm's that are triptronic. rocks forward and back for snow and power. Excellent! I knew someone on here would know! Still, it gives us a nice blank hole to put some auxiliary switch in - like the nitrous above! wahhahahahahaaaa!!!

Dont forget you also pay insurance tax and tax on the mot, as well as tax on the petrol and road tax - just for driving your car on the roads! Outside of roads, you are also taxed on your wages and on your savings before you even start to pay for a car & using it!

New owner '06 350z touring. Me so happy.
rabbitstew replied to treacherous's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Whats the touring? I know the bmw touring is the estate version. Do they do an estate 350z?! -
Nope... on the 350 thats to the right hand lower side of the steering wheel, next to the petrol cap release. Mines got the blank button next to heated seats too.... dunno what it could be for as mine is fully loaded.

Brilliant. Love these 2 comparisons here which the lister gives: Throaty Exhaust - Throating Nothing Ever Precision Handling - Loose on entry

Setting up a business is very hard. First you have to think of an idea which can make money, research it, see who the competitors are etc. Then setup the business - buy stock in, advertise, try to sell, and hopefully you start to get some money coming in. Its not until you start turning over good volume that you will see profits. The risk then is that a bigger competitor will just come in and under cut you and put you out of business. Ive had several small business`s which could have gone further but I just didnt have the size or money to push them. The last business I had was selling speed camera detectors. I was buying them straight from the supplier and knocking out loads to owners clubs. I was selling them cheaper than the main competitors because I had less overheads and I was the only supplier in the area where I lived. My profit on each item was not great, I had to sell 6 units to pay for a small advert in the back of the main car / motorbike magazines. Where it all went wrong was when a big competitor just came in and undercut my prices so I couldnt compete - they bought in larger volume than me and so could afford to do this. They also then setup resellers in my area to directly compete with me and just put me out of business. Since then ive got more into selling stuff on ebay, but even there any business ideas are short lived. Once you sell a product on there, everyone else just does the same but cheaper than you. Where you would be okay is if you had a unique product, or a service which people can not easy copy.

100,000 mile 350z, a wise idea ?
rabbitstew replied to Robbo101's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Ive owned and sold quite a few high mileage cars in the past. The key thing to look out for is what is the owner like and what history is with the car. If the owner has had the car for a while, is obviously an enthusiast, has had the car serviced regularly and has kept details of what they have done with the car, then you should have nothing much to worry about. Welcome to the forum! -
My money is on the accelerator. They are drive by wire on them, same as on the golfs. Not sure if a code will be logged when they are playing up, but possibly. Certainly worth plugging it in and doing a scan as if they are anything like VW`s they will log every little thing which will make diagnosing this easier.

Saw a car completely written off today...
rabbitstew replied to Peter10's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Reminds me of my parents old neighbour, he was still driving into his 90`s. He was half deaf so couldnt hear the engine, so he`d have his foot to the boards when accelerating and slipped the clutch like mad. Believe it or not, he got through 3 clutches in the space of 6,000 miles!!!!!!!! The front of the car was covered in dents where he used to drive into his garage and mis-judge it so he`d run into the back and all the stuff would fall off some shelves onto the car. Once he got caught speeding litterally 2 houses away from his driveway, he was doing 50 in a 30 and he had only just left his house! In the end he pulled out on someone on a roundabout and wrote his car off. He still carried on driving tho up until he was about 92 when he fell over and done his hip in. Complete madness. -
welcome!!!

What do you think has a better chance of selling
rabbitstew replied to SidewysJay's topic in 350Z General
Definately stock. Not only that, but you will never make your money back on the mods you have done if you sell the car with them on. You will be better off taking off any mods and selling those seperately which will give you more cash. As Lexx said, any cars which are modified, people assume have been thrashed by chavs. Most buyers would rather buy an original car, then modify it themselves. Some mods you may be able to get away with, such as a sports exhaust and maybe different wheels. But, nothing too mad, and again, they wont boost the price you get by the car by as much as if you sold them seperately. -
I think that looks a lot higher than the 313 bonnet. Im supprised Stillen didnt alter the engine mounts to lower the engine a bit more, which would have made the bonnet hump a lot smaller. Personally I think the hump really detracts from the cars smooth lines. But, you cant argue with the increased torque and power. Whether or not its worth the extra £6.5k they mention in the Evo article is another thing. Is 100bhp more worth £6.5k?

I think your best bet will be to find a specialist roof place which can repair it for you. The zed`s roof looks like its got loads of parts and so trying to get to the back of the rip will be a nightmare I think. Unfortunately I dont know of any places myself, but my first port of call would be google or the yellow pages. Good luck with it!

Got One At Last!!!! Photos added
rabbitstew replied to rik-e's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Nice car and welcome to the forum. My first choice was black, but they are as rare as hens teeth around here, so I ended up with a gunmetal one instead. I think you paid a fair price. You will always pay a bit more for black, and a bit more from a dealer. All in all it looks like a nice car, so enjoy it!
