You just need one which has 2 photo plugs. i.e. a red one for right and a white one for left. You can pick them up for hardly anything on ebay. The one I bought was: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160600769096#ht_3238wt_899 This is if you want to have a 3.5mm jack to plug anything into. If you want an iphone/ipod connector then you`ll need a different lead.

Will insurance company pay if this lands on my car
rabbitstew replied to rabbitstew's topic in Insurance
Be cool if they did. Wouldnt mind it landing in my back garden, it could do with a being re-landscaped. Think im going to be walking around with 1 eye looking up into the sky tomorrow. -
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/spac ... where.html ????? Just want to make sure im covered.

Ive had it several times when they "lost" my logbook after sending it off to have changes made and countless chasing in order to get the problem resolved.
-
They are normally a kind of sequential gearbox. Usually with 3 or 4 gears. Awesome car and a good time. A friend has a fully street legal, MOT`d, subaru imprezza built in his garden shed which does the 1/4 mile in 9.47 seconds, but its amazing how much extra work, power and money you need to get from 9.47 to 6.63.

Happy Birthday!

I like your style Rabbitstew Indeed. The only problem with that though is that if the monkeys damaged her car then I know im the one who`ll end up having to fix it.
-
You`ll probably find the car is a bit more responsive, but no extra power. Like you say, it may even be a mental thing. I find with my cars / bikes some days they feel quicker than others. God knows why... its most strange!

Using and Pairing IPhone to existing hands free in

Excellent! -
Definately. I see at least 15 boxsters on the way into work every day, but im lucky if I see 1 zed in a week. Thats not taking anything away from the boxsters, some people really like them and thats fair enough.
-
I looked at these when I was looking for my zed and they just didnt do it for me. Common as muck around my way, so always plenty for sale.

I had the exact same situation a few weeks back when my missus said to me "lets go to the zoo" and we ended up going to some safari park or another. Think it may have been Wickstead park - thats how interested I was, I cant even remember what it was called. But in order to keep her happy we went. So, I say to her, no way on gods earth am I taking my roadster there. So we go in her Peugeot 307 instead. Actually when we got there, there was big signs saying people who have roadsters or convertibles are not allowed to drive through the park - you have to go straight to the parking area. I guess thats to stop the elephants, monkeys and rhino`s from eating half your car. Cos we were in her car I had no hesitation at all driving through the monkey area. They just jumped on everyones cars, ripped off the occasional window wiper / arial and that was it. They seemed to enjoy jumping on the car at the entrance, then riding on it around before jumping off at the end. It was actually quite funny as people were stopping their cars to look at the monkies and some guy in a new flashy looking Audi A4 was getting anoyed at this. So he overtakes everyone and pushes in. This monkey saw the Audi and jumped straight on the roof, then proceeded to urinate all over the guys roof. It was running down the windows and side of the car everywhere. Oh how I laughed.

Brilliant and what a cool colour, its like a metallic burgandy red - sort of colour I used to see hotrods in back in the day.

I had a similar problem at work. I park in an underground carpark with big concrete pillars everywhere. Bloke in space next to me reverses his car in sometimes, then walks over my space to get out because there is a pillar in the way so he cant walk forwards past his car. I also reverse in, so I am then left wondering how the other driver plans to get into his car. He will either have to climb over his passenger seat, or squeeze himself between my car & the pillar risking scratching my car. Im so paranoid about someone scatching my car i usually park it miles away in the supermarket carpark, but you can guarentee, sods law someone will park next to me in some crappy car, even though the whole carpark is empty. Strange!

Using and Pairing IPhone to existing hands free in

Welcome! And good luck trying to pair the iphone. My missus had a nightmare trying to pair her iphone with bluetooth headsets / dongles. We must have tried about 4 before we gave up on it. Strangely all 4 worked perfectly fine on my 2 old nokias, an ancient sony ericson and the samsung tocco, samsung i8910 and samsung galaxy s2. I think its something to do with the bluetooth standards not being set in stone, so apple have changed how they use them slightly. -
Yeah thats the avenue ive been considering. Just dont want to risk my mint roadster having some sort of accident in the snow. Not sure how im going to work it out financially yet as the insurance company want £500 just to insure a second car. Might have to look at a classic car to reduce the insurance bill.
-
Ive noticed the same on mine. When I park up and climb out after the drive home, I can literally feel the heat coming from the exhaust from the side of the car.

Welcome, and your from my old neck of the woods. I lived in Peterborough for about 20 years or more, until I moved last year. Still pop back there every so often, so may see you about. In fact I was back there last weekend getting some bits from Millfield Autos! When I was looking for a zed earlier in the year, there was a garage in Stanground next to the fishing tackle shop / Sheltons, which had 3 zeds for sale! It looked like the specialisted in the more upmarket cars as they had mercs, porsches, m3`s and that kinda stuff. Might be worth checking them out. :EDIT: Oh, and im also a biker too. Currently got an R1, a VFR750 and a ZXR750L2 in my garage.

Welcome to the forums! Your experience reminds me of a mate of mine who was all set to buy an car last year. He asked me my opinion and I said I thought that the car didnt look right. We did a bit more checking and found the car on a forum and checked the sellers posts. Transpired the car was an accident write off which the seller had repaired (badly) himself and put back on the road. Needless to say my friend walked...... -
Not sure anyone will post that on here as its not legal. There are sites out there who sell the GPS discs for 40quid, rather than the very high price the originals cost, but from what I can see they are not the original DVD so id stay well clear of them.
-
My err.. friend *cough* *cough* did this and apparently it all worked fine for him.
-
Gutting isnt it. I dont know whats worse, getting rid of a girlfriend or selling a car. I know when I sold my last car - which id had for 4 1/2 years I really missed it. Longest relationship id had with anything in my life. Only thing which helped me pull through it was knowing that I had a fitter younger model parked in my driveway.

HP finance still on car, looking to buy
rabbitstew replied to John tarantula's topic in 350Z General
I had a similar thing when I bought my Yamaha R1. Bloke had HP on it. I phoned up the finance company directly and they refused to discuss this guys finance as obviously its private between the company and the borrower. But they did say that the HP loan on cars / motorbikes was always against the borrower and NOT the vehicle. Therefore they would never look at repossessing the vehicle and would always persue the borrower for any monies owned rather than the owner of the vehicle. Interestingly the guy paid off the HP at the time, but even if I HP check my bike now it still shows the finance outstanding and this is 12 years later. When I bought my zed there was also finance on it, from Lombard Business Finance, and the details were "unit stocking". When I checked up on this, it was the Nissan dealer who themselves cant afford to buy cars to put on their forecourt, they get finance in order to buy their stock in!
