To be honest, ive learnt you cant trust any postal service. Its amazing how they damage stuff and the amount of stuff which goes missing. As an ebay seller im paranoid about damage so end up mega over killing the packaging, so usually end up paying more than ive quoted the buyer. But at least the item arrives safely.
  2. Love that last pic! Congratulations!
  3. Nice pics and nice lookign car!
  4. Although the title did make me laugh "Genuine K1" - a genuine copy Yep I had to smile at that myself!
  5. Didnt have you figured for a scientist! Haha now an hvac design technician It's hard to describe in understandable terms lol. I'm unsure of the exact setup in zed but that's the basic operating principles lol. Either way, it sounded impressive!
  6. If you change your car mid-policy then you will usually find that the insurance company your broker put you with for your old car, maybe not be the most competitive for your new one. The problem you have then is that you really need to keep with the same insurance company until the renewal else you loose your years NCB. So it really pays to change cars just before your insurance company needs renewing. When my missus had the same problem the other year it was cheaper for her to cancel her old policy, loose that years ncb and start again with a new company.
  7. Well so far ive done about 100 miles this year on my bike. So much for the plans to get it back on the road and use it more this year. Doing a house up seems to suck up most of my spare time, that and long working hours.
  8. I decided the same in the end! In actual fact, I started off looking at a4`s, then a3`s, then seat leons and then VW Golfs! Ended up with the golf as you got much better spec for your money and they are all essentially the same car / same mechanics.
  9. The Audi A4`s are cracking cars. If your after the diesel one, they are very economical. The early 1.9`s were a bit noisey, but he PD ones which came out in 2001 onwards were cracking. Nice and responsive, quiet, smooth and you could get into the 60mpg`s with them. When they facelifted the a4 they added the 2.0 diesel engine which is slightly different - same as in the mk5 golfs, but still good. The a4`s hold their value well, and a lot of them are ex lease / company cars, so you`ll find a lot have 100k on the clock. But, thats nothing, they will just go and go. No major problems, just make sure the cambelt has been changed as per schedule. I looked at quite a few of them a few years back and the only problem I has was there really were so many to choose from. In the end I went for a VW Golf instead as you got a lot higher spec for the same cash as an Audi.
  10. £95 was a very cheap price for this. Normally they seem to be about the £150->£175 price 2nd hand.
  11. Didnt have you figured for a scientist!
  12. Nice!!! And just down the road from where I work too. Tempted to pop down and have a look at it in the flesh at lunchtime. Not a bad price at all either... cheaper than I paid for mine a few months back.
  13. To be honest, this is normal for all cars in my experience. This happens on my zed, my old golf and the missus`s 307. So, I just leave the air con on all year around (unless ive got the roof down).
  14. I think you`ll definately get more money if you get the engine done as you`ll have a whole car then. Ive broken no end of cars, and you can get more cash than selling the car as needing repair. But, you have to factor in the time it takes to strip a car, do your research on what each bit is worth, photographing it, sticking it on ebay, packaging up, posting etc. etc. etc. It does take forever. You`ll also end up with some bits which dont sell and it will take you some time to get your money back.
  15. Welcome to the 350 club, and what a great colour you have chosen. Not sure how women manage to drive the z, as even i struggle to park it!
  16. Indian lad at work shows me this clip a few weeks back and I just couldnt believe how stupid some people can be. Dangerous or what. I wonder how many have got seriously injured or killed. Total nut jobs. Impressive to watch tho!
  17. Always tough to match new and old paint. Sometimes its easier to respray the whole car. When my missus crashed her old car I had to send it back to the bodyshop 3 times before they got the paintwork looking right. In the end they managed to get the right match, but even then in certain lights or angles you could see it had been repainted.
  18. Wouldnt bet on it. All it takes is some good news to be released and the RRL stocks always seem to fall. Hopefully they will go back up soon tho. I noticed Aminex has fallen like a brick. My shares dropped by 45% one day last week alone, due to them announcing they were stopping drilling at one of their wells.
  19. Yeah they arnt far from you either mate. I was watching them like a hawk and they didnt damage the alloys. Theres one very small bit (size of a finger nail) where it looks like paint has flaked off edge of the rim slightly on one of them, but I suspect that was more to do with the guy who refurbished them rather than the fitters. They even kept double checking the jack handles and bits as they walked around the car to make sure they werent going to hit the bodywork. They certainly loved the zed, and really were careful - didnt even use the windy gun on it in case they damaged the wheels. I`ll have to keep an eye out for you, as your not far away from me.
  20. I checked out reviews of both the falkens and the kumho`s and opted for the falkens.
