I definitely need to make a note of that place for when im next passing. Sounds awesome!!! -
Im not sure what the difference is between the iphone tarrifs and normal tarrifs which have data. Ive always used data a lot ever since I got my first mobile phone. Ive always used them for emails and surfing etc... Sure, "smart phones" may use a bit more data as a lot of people have them running apps which go off to the internet more often and update things, but I dont see what the difference between that and an iphone tarrif is. So it may be worth asking your phone provider. Also, with data, check what allowance they will give you, as it does vary a lot some have 100mb, 250mb, 500mb or "unlimited" data tarrifs. On my smart phone, i tend to use about 80gb a month max. Mainly because im nearly always connected to wireless whereever I am and therefore dont need to use 3g. My missus on the other hand, hardly uses her iphone and yet its mysteriously using about 800mb of data a month! She isnt connected to wireless as much as me, but doesnt really use it for anything different to I do. So it maybe that iphones just use more data, or she has some weird app perminantly downloading data.

Ah... ive got one of those in the freezer ready to try. I actually was speaking to my brother about pies yesterday and he also recommended that one - he had a freezer full of them! (must run in the family!). -

My missus would love them. Not sure they would be my cup of tea as I like a bit of meat in my pie. The pieminister pies I tried were pretty dismal. You can read about them on my blog. Just tucking into a Freshpack minced beef & onion pie as I type! -
To be honest, ive never seen the point in having them. Surely drivers should know where the front and back of their cars are. But.... having got my zed, im finding reversing a total night mare as you can not litterally see a thing out of the back of the car. Even the wing mirrors shed very little light on where the back of the car is when reversing. Having reversed into my parking space at work every day for months I have now kinda worked out where the back end of the car is, using the wing mirror and the distance it is from a post to the side of the car! So I can kinda see why on cars like the zed people like having reversing sensors.

My missus got her 4s about 2 weeks back now. So far she finding that she isnt really using any of the new 4s features. Siri seems very limited unless you are in the US. Unlike vlingo on android, apple dont like tying in things with google, so if you ask it to find nearest pub etc.. it just says "sorry, only avaliable in the US". She does use the front camera sometimes to check her make-up... And she has also noticed a problem recently where the phone suddenly gets red hot and the battery drops from full to nearly empty in the space of a few hours. It seems to happen randomly. Some days its fine, others it does it. I have read of a known bug in iOS5 which is relating to the battery, so it may be that. All in all as an apple worshiper, she`s very pleased with it, and having used it myself comparing it against her old 3gs the difference is extremely noticeable between them. The display on the 4s is so much sharper, the notification bar is great, the menus seem so much quicker etc. Its definitely a marked increase for old iphone 3gs users. But, comparing it against my 12 month old Galaxy s2, there is nothing I can see which the iphone 4s does better, and those items on the 4s which i like over the 3gs are stuff which the s2 already has. So its not good that the latest iphone which took them 18months to develop is struggling to better a 12 months old samsung phone. You would have expected a new phone to blow all the competitors out of the water. My missus is just hoping that apple will release a patch for the battery problem as until then she has to carry her charger around with her. My missus got it on a 99quid for phone, 36quid a month 2 year tariff, which seemed one of the best deals she could find at the time - she spent ages comparing all the providers. Comparing that against the s2 - free phone, £25 a month for 18 months... I really couldn't justify that extra cost.

Pricate car park full of untaxed cars!!
rabbitstew replied to Rubber's topic in Off Topic Discussion
If the car has no tax then it needs to be SORN`d every year. If its a private car park, then as long as the owner is happy then you can keep un-taxed cars in there. So, I the police wont be able to do much unless the owner of the carpark is not happy with having un-taxed cars in it. -
Well done!!!

Definately the shims missing. When I fitted the ferrodo pads a few months back I reused the original shims of the stock pads. I also used some copper slip. The brakes have never squeeked at all. It sounds like the garage wasnt really sure what they were doing, or the shims were already missing. Copper slip may help a bit, but its really the shims you need. Looks like your new shims have fixed the problem on the front, you just need to get the rears sorted now! On a seperate note, squeeking brakes dont always mean you need new pads. My mate was convinced he needed some new pads last week and ran out & bought some. But, upon taking his wheels off the old pads were fine. I just blew all the crap out from around the pads / calipers with an airline and cleaned them all up, and problem solved. Saved himself a good few quid.

I was more astonished at the amount of effort it takes that it didnt pull the paint off Thats a very good point actually! The paint was surprisingly good on the back bumper. I could see that whilst my car has only had 3 owners, its had 6 different number plates on it now. And, each owner has used more sticky pads in different positions - rather than clean the old ones off. Took me hours of cleaning the old pads off to make a proper job of it.

Welcome!!!

Thats what i did. I got some heavy duty pads of ebay. When i first fitted the back plate i actually noticed the angle wasnt 100% so had to pull it off and re-allign it. And OMG the pads were so strong it felt like the plate was welded to the car even though id only just stuck it on 10 seconds earlier.
-
I stuck my new plate straight onto the front bumper after removing the chunky black number plate mounting bit which goes between the plate and the bumper. The sticky pads held the new plate on no problem, even though the plate is bending slightly to follow the curve of the front bumper.

Yep its all down to the individual garage. They are more keen to protect their reputation than nissan is to repair stuff under warranty.
-
Problem is, back in the 70s and 80s when this one was "customised", they werent seen as the classic cars they are now adays. So, loads of people happily butchered them and many other cars. Id be tempted to buy it and turn it back into original.

Brilliant!!!

lol.... pleased its not just my missus. She doesnt see the point in washing her car by hand when she can take it to the local hand car wash and give them a fiver to do it. Theres no way on earth id take my car there, but its up to her what she does with her own car. What anoys me the most tho is when we go for a ride out in the zed, im driving and she suddenly pulls out a bag of crisps and starts munching away, putting crumbs all over the passenger side of the car!!! argh!

How about stew? Cats are funny tho, they always want to be in the action. Im in the middle of building some cupboards as I type and the cat is laying half on my saw and half on the bit of wood I want to cut.

Looks like the coppers were taken to court to be prosecuted for "aggravated vehicle taking" as they did not have the owners permission to drive the car, but then a senior officer claimed he had given them permission to drive the evo so those charges were dropped. Instead the copper who was driving got just 4 points and a £100 fine. Yep, just 4 points and £100 fine. Clearly they were driving dangerously and doing more than the 30mph limit and yet he gets let off. I remembered once getting flashed by a speed camera doing 71 in a 60 in the middle of nowhere and I got 5 points and a £400 fine! Talk about favoritism. http://www.messengernewspapers.co.uk/ne ... le_garden/

Brilliant. Must be special highly trained police officers.
