Id have to question that the old bird is really 51 tho, she does look about 75.

Yep, if yours is the facelift 07 like mine then you`ll need slightly different ones. I have seen a few on the bay for sale, and you can ship some in from america even. They arnt cheap tho.

I assumed he was talking about the front reflectors in the bumper?

The other problem is, that there just isnt the incentive to work. I know when I was claiming a few years back I asked the woman how it worked if I was offered a days work whilst I was claiming unemployment benefit. She said "oh thats easy, if you earn £50 for a days work, we just deduct £50 from your benefit". So, really there was no incentive at all to actually do the work.

Should have used quilted....

Bit of T-cut and some elbow grease.... Seriously though, that driver must have needed a serious change of trousers after that incident. Mental!

That's how it should still be in theory. However certainly where I am there is a shortage of 4 plus bedroom housing available for those claiming benefits. I know of one landlord who is receiving in excess if £2000per month each for 4 bed properties that would normally fetch only half that per month to private rental. Families with 5 plus children are classed as special needs and therefore the local housing authority will pay over the market value just to house them .Where else are they going to put them? Licence to print money if you've got a four bed house to rent out. Thats mad. When I was at the council, the valuation officer would look in paper, see what the private rental price for 4 bed houses was and come up with a figure - say £1000. And that would be the absolute max the council would pay in housing benefit for a 4 bed house. If you had 5 kids, then they would expect to be 2 in a room up until (i think) they were teenagers. So I guess 3 rooms for the kids and 1 for mummy and / or daddy. Makes you want to run out and buy 4 bed houses now!!

And my missus calls me "Victor" after Victor Meldrew..... To the OP - the hack is easy enough to do. Ive did it on mine last year. Works a treat. I originally did it with an ipod / iphone lead, but then swapped it to a normal 3.5mm jack plug as this gave me better flexibility as you can plug anything into it, rather than just an iphone / ipod.

WOAH!!!! I didnt know that!!! And there was me wondering how these people can afford to be drunk all the time when I cant!!!! Wonder how you apply for this "benefit" ?!?!! I used to work for my local councils housing benefits section many moons ago when I first left uni, and the rules back then was that the council would only pay the "going rate" (which was an approved rate based upon the average price of similar houses) for your accommodation. They would also only pay benefit on the number of rooms they thought you needed. So if you were a single person or a couple, you only need 1 room. So they would only pay the equivalent of what a 1 room bedsit or flat would cost you to rent. Sure, you could rent a 3 bed if you want, but they would still only pay for 1 bed place. If you had 1 kid, then they would pay for a 2 bed place. If you had 2 kids, and they were both the same sex and under a certain age then you`d still only get 2 bed etc... There was also strict checks on landlords to ensure that they weren't related to you etc. etc. Of course, all that may have changed now.

Might have to have a go at that if i get some spare time.

Not sure why they need massive houses. Both my parents grew up in 3 bed terrace houses and had about 7 brothers / sisters each! Thats why all new builds apparently have to also allocate a certain percentage of the build as "affordable houses" or rent them out to people on housing benefit. Theres quite a few new developments near me where you have nice 4 or 5 bed houses, then litterally 3 doors down you get a load of flats with low lifes living in them. Totally agree with your comments though. I really just dont understand some peoples mind sets these days. I made the decision not to have kids until I could afford them and look after them. But some of these people seem to have kids as if they are a toy without even considering how an earth they are going to support them. They just assume its a given that the state (ie. us tax payers) will happily fund them and their kid. Then of course the kid grows up thinking thats normal and does the same. Thats why we see some familys where theres a great grandmother who is only like 45 or something.

Hope he sells it. Would make mine worth 30k based on his estimate. ! -
Tough decision really, whilst you can buy a shed cheap, the running costs are what screws things up. I had a shed sitting here which was free, but the insurance was going to cost £600, the tax £235, then MOT, service, cambelt & tyres... i.e. normal running costs... and before you know it its costing quite a bit. Mine was a diesel shed, so I worked out the mpg id save on running it over 12 months as a 2nd car and there was very little in it between running the zed as a daily runner.

Perforation Warranty Success (before/after pics)

That is a cracking result! Well done! -
Ebay mate. I had a car get written off a few years back and the insurance company gave me a full pay out and said I could keep the car. I stuck it straight onto ebay and sold it for spares. Because it was written off, i removed all the identifying features - like the chasis plate, num plates etc... and actually informed DVLA id scrapped the car. That way, if anyone tried to put it back on the road id be in the clear.

My 07 is the same. If the hill is more than just a slight slope the handbrake will just not hold it at all, even if its pulled up hard. I always make sure i leave it in gear. Its always been like that since I got the car, but now with its MOT coming up im wondering if its likely to be a failure?

+1 I was in the unfortunately position of being laid off work a few years back and went down the job centre for the first time ever. Id heard all sorts of reports of what the job centre is like and the people who go there, but I always keep an open mind on these things. I turn up and have to fight through chavs outside drinkin and smoking whilst their kids are in prams outside, I had to check in past 3 burly doorman like im at a club in order to get into the job centre, then inside you are queuing up for about 40minutes with all sorts of dodgy looking characters, a lot of whom did not speak English, before being able to see someone. The result was I could get £60 a week and that was it. No help with mortgage or anything else. Not that I expected anything, but £240 a month is hardly going to pay all my bills to look after my house and feed me. The woman behind the desk told me if i had no mortgage I could get housing benefit which basically covers your rent on somewhere to live, but cos I have a mortgage I get nothing. Also, the real kicker was because ive been working all my life I get unemployment benefit, and not income support. Which means I have to pay for prescriptions, eye tests, dentist etc. etc. Had I never worked in my life and been a dosser, id have got Income Support which means an automatic get out of jail card giving you free prescriptions, eye tests, dentist, automatic council tax benefit and housing benefit. To be honest, after going back about 2 or 3 times to sign on and being treated like total scum by the people working there I jacked it all in and got a job labouring on a building site for £50 a day for the next 8 months. I just couldn't face the demoralization and the shame of signing on. With regards to the £26k cap, I can well believe that as when I was down the dole office I was speaking to someone who l knew from years back. He told me that he would not be any better off working unless he got a job for about £30k a year. And for someone who has no qualifications or a trade, he was very unlikely to get that. When he worked out all his benefits, like income support, housing benefit, council tax benefit etc. etc. it all came to about £26k a year. He was also getting mobility allowance as he had hurt his leg a few years previous. The hillarious thing was I commented to him that he had put on some serious muscle since id last seen him and he then was telling me about how he hits the gym 4 times a week doing heavy weights and does running etc. etc. !!!!

Friday evening, about 6pm. Caught up with a silver / grey or possibly white (it was dark so I couldnt tell!) 2011 370z coupe on the a14 just north of Cambridge heading up to Huntingdon then across towards the M6 direction. Reg **11 EKR. Followed it for about 26miles or so. At couple of times the driver booted it up to a very err.. reasonable speed and must have really wondered what the car behind him was which was stuck to his back bumper! I turned off at Thrapston and left him to it.
