On my roadsters roof, it was looking a bit tired and dirty, and I used this product: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255237 It has a cleaner in it which you brush on to clean it all up, then some sort of silicone spray stuff which bonds to the roof to make it water proof. It was easy to go on, and I was amazed with the end results. It looked like a brand new hood. Nice, clean & dark. I reckon id probably only need to do this twice a year max to keep it looking new. Im not sure if it will solve your problem with the tide marks, but it may well do.

Spotted on Pistonheads!! the most BRUTAL 350z ...
rabbitstew replied to WINKJ's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
My god, so he reckons he`s spent £30k on it, and only done 2k miles in it, now selling it for 8995? Thats a serious amount of cash per mile!!! -
In my old car i fitted one of those isolator switches like rally cars have with the big red handle on it. I wired it up in the engine bay. Just took the feed from the battery and joined onto it, then a heavy duty cable from the switch to the other terminal on the battery. In all fairness, it was actually easier just to disconnect the battery.

Congratulations!! Hope it works out for you!!!

Ive no outside tap at my current house, so always use watering cans. Normally takes me 2 cans, maybe 3 to rinse the whole zed off incl the alloys. Guess it depends on what size can your using! It is a pain though. I really need to get an outside tap fitted.

Does it work ok? -
In my opinion £8k isnt too far off the mark. The pricing of zeds in general seems very weird. £8k for a 2004 car and yet ive seen 2007 313 coupe`s for £10k. So only a 2k drop in price over 3 years. And yet, for mine, it dropped £16 grand in 4 years and looks like its dropped another £2k over the last 12 months. Maybe the prices drop quickly until they get below £10k then seem to hold their value better. As others have said its a buyers market - although that depends upon what you are trying to buy!. In your case the colour / year / spec of car you are looking for, id imagine theres a good selection out there to choose from. So, offer the dealer what you think its worth and if they wont play game then walk. When I bought mine, I found dealers very very hard to negotiate with and none of them refused to drop a penny on the screen price. The only thing they would offer is 6 months road tax. They all seemed to be under the impression the car would sell quickly. Indeed, 2 out of the 3 I looked at were snapped up pretty quick!

Not heard anything apart from the revup ones apparently sometime use a little oil but they are a lot newer than the one your looking at (2006). Another thing to consider, is the power differences between the different versions of zed. The early ones only had 276bhp, which increased to 296bhp around 2006, then to 309bhp in mid 2007. Some people (myself included) felt it was worth the extra money to get the 309bhp version. The 52 plate zed you mention, id definitely be offering a lot less. If its 52 plate then its probably one of the first zeds made as that was the first year they came out, so its one of the oldest you`ll get. Also if its an import then that usually means its worth less too. So, it sounds like the seller is asking top money for it compared to others ive seen.

Black Rose 370z Roadster M1 Watford Gap
rabbitstew replied to rabbitstew's topic in Spotted or Flyered
that's Will Hope you flashed him to move him out the middle lane Lol must admit i hate middle lane hoggers, but as rabbit said motorway was rather busy so i'll let myself off. Yep it was a bit of a nightmare traffic wise, and the road conditions were terrible with all the standing water. I was coming from Coventry, so joined on at the m45 Junction and followed you pretty much for miles! Have to say your "rosie" looked really nice. I had one exactly the same as a courtesy car last year and hated it. Hated the looks and the colour. But, over the last 6 months they are now actually growing on me and im starting to really quite like them. Whilst I was following you, for some reason, I even found myself driving along thinking "hmmmmm.. maybe i should look at trading my 350z roadster in for one!" -
Who do you think will win the Premiership?
rabbitstew replied to HassanZ's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I bet the bookies are kicking themselves now. I read a few weeks back that paddy power & a load of others were so convinced Man U were going to win that they paid out all the bets early! -
Sounds like something is amiss with it. Shame you cant translate the japanese and workout what its saying! With the actual system itself, if the early ones like yours are the same as the later one in mine, then the dvd only has the map and you cant update the OS on the system - so you cant physically change the software. I would have thought you could just swap the map disc for a UK one in order to see UK maps, but the software would still be in japanese, if thats how it currently is. I updated my 2007 map disc to a 2011 one earlier in the year and it worked a treat.

that's Will Hope you flashed him to move him out the middle lane In all fairness the rest of the traffic was doing the same speed as it was quite busy for some reason. I was in my missus`s car else id have flashed and waved! At first I thought it was a woman driving as until I over took them, all I could see was the drivers hand on the steering wheel and it looked really small! -
Most insurance companies ive spoken to in the past are perfectly okay if you swap out the stock exhaust for a different one. How ive approached it with them is that the vehicle needs a new exhaust and an "aftermarket" exhaust is cheaper than buying an Nissan one. Performance wise, the difference it makes will be negligible unless you then go off and have a remap etc. If you went into quick fit and asked for a new exhaust, the chances are they wouldnt be fitting a genuine nissan on, they will fit whatever brand they stock and you wouldnt then have to ring up your insurance company and tell them you have a "walker" or whichever brand it is now fitted to the car. But, if you are increasing the power of the car then technically you need to tell them, but unless you rolling road test it before and after you wont know whether it has or not.

At least he owned up to it! Good luck getting the repairs done.

Ive been a couple of times and it used to be pretty cheap. That was before the euro came out mind you, when all the prices suddenly rocketed through the roof. Only thing I hated was all the drug dealers and beggers around the red light area hassling and threatening you. I tried to avoid that if possible. Some lovely architecture though and nice streets etc.. As others have said the Ann Frank museum is interesting and worth seeing whilst you are there. One of my favorite things when I was there was to sit in the window of one of the pubs near the red light area, with a nice pint of Heineken (albeit with a 6inch frothy head on it) and people watch. You see some really funny scenes.

How long is a bit of string really. In general with cars ive owned (non zeds), they tend to need a lot of bits replacing at 80k... like brakes / discs / suspension etc. etc. It seems a lot of things are designed to last 80k miles. On my Golf TDI it had 170k miles on it when i sold it, and I ended up actually replacing loads of bits twice! At 80k and 160k. lol These days most cars handle high mileage well. Years back 100k miles was seen as high mileage, and to some degree people still think that, just because back when cars were less reliable, 100k was good going!

I shudder when I see this sort of thing happen. I remember once I worked on the 6th floor of this building overlooking a carpark. I was looking out of the window at the carpark and saw this old man reverse this car straight into the side of a parked car. He got out, looked around, then drove off!!!!!!! The car he hit actually rocked back and forth with the force. Unfortunately because I was so high up I couldnt get the guys reg number, but I ran down with the details I had to put a note on the other cars screen, but by the time I got there he had also gone.

Nice one!!!!! I deal with no end of Scottish clients but none of them ever buy me whiskey... although in my industry the anti bribery and corruption act seems to put paid to that.

Now my experiences with this one always makes me laugh. I nearly always ring up first and tell them im coming to look at a particular car and would like a test drive. I guess really you shouldnt do this as it gives them chance to make sure that the car is all ready, warmed up and any problems are hidden - rather than catching them unawares. But, 8 out of 10 times ive pre-warned the garage im coming to look at a particular car, they have not even made an effort to get it ready for a test drive. Usually the car is about 5 cars deep on their forecourt, more often than not it has a flat battery. One I went to see had flat tyres, flat battery and was in their showroom, blocked in by about 4 cars. I really dont understand it. Sure, they may get the odd time waster who rings them up, but if someone was to go to the effort to call me and arrange a test drive, id damn well make sure i had the car sitting there, all perfect ready to go. Its not just car dealers, i had the same thing with an R1 motorbike. Called up, reasured it was a lovely example. Drove 45miles to garage, they then couldnt find the keys to the bike, it had flat tyres, they had to pump these up, then move a load of bikes out of the way to wheel it out onto the forecourt, only to find the thing wouldnt start and no amount of jump starting would get it to go. I took great satisfaction in showing the sales man I had 7 grand in cash in my pocket and he`d just lost a sale as I walked off. He litterally came running after me begging me to stay. Needless to say I didnt.

Thats pretty normal. The other year I got 2 insurance quotes for exactly the same car. One in my missus`s name with me as named driver and one in my name with her as a named driver. She only had 5 years ncb and had made a claim. I had 20 years ncb and no claims. The quote in her name came back a lot cheaper than the one in my name.
