You also have to use special oil in the car if you have a DPF. On our shed 307HDI it has a DPF and the oil we have to use costs nearly twice the price of the oil we could use had it not got a DPF.

Last time i looked at RS500`s they were more around the £15k mark. The more common saphire cossies were about £2500 when i last looked too, but that was a few years back so many things have changed.

The tab 2 uses an older version of Android OS compared to the nexus 7. We have an ipad3 and a nexus 7 in our household and the smoothness and speed of the nexus certainly is equal if not better than the ipad 3. With Android you can simply re-install flash if you wish. No problem at all. As for the app store, i seem to remember reading that Play Store has 600,000 apps? How many more do people want? If I need an app for something, i simply go to the Play Store, search, it quickly finds it and I download it. I have never once ever not been able to find an app to do what I wanted. Whether its to use my phone or tablet as a remote control to control my hifi, free sat nav, tesco shopping, amazon, imdb, angry birds, new keyboards... everything ive wanted has been there and easy to find. One cool thing I like about the play store is that if im on my PC and see an app I want, i can just click download and it will automatically send it to my tablet so when I get home the app is already installed & running.

If you were on a multi car policy with admiral then this is perfectly normal and was one of the reasons I didnt do such a policy with them. They said to me that if I put both cars on the same policy then if I took one car off - maybe because i could get a cheaper quote elsewhere, then effectively there would be a penalty charge. After lookin at all the figures, id probably have saved £20 by insuring both my cars with admiral, but would be forced to use them for renewal else face a penalty if I moved one of the cars elsewhere.

Exactly thats my thoughts on it. My mate actually has one of those DIY testers, but thats probably even worse as it may well show you are fine, but on another unit it may show you are over.

Look for the thread on here about the nexus 7. Big discussion about it a few weeks back. Best buys in my opinion in the 7" size are nexus 7 or the Samsung tab 2 7inch. Both are less than £200 and cracking tablets. I bought a nexus 7 a few weeks back myself and love it. If you want a 10.1 inch size, then the Samsung Tab 2 10.1 is the one to go for. You`ll find you`ll get more for your money with an android though than with an ipad.

Or in my case my latest quote has dropped like a stone on the zed. March 2011 I was quoted £900pa to insure my 2007 313 Roadster. This dropped to around £600pa in November 2011 with Admiral when I requoted. And now thats dropped to £340pa as of 2 weeks back through "privelage". £340. WTF is that all about? Ive 20 years ncb, so its nothing to do with another years NCB as at that level it makes no difference. No changes to any of my circumstances at all. I just clicked "requote" on confused.com. All fully comp, kept on road, commuting to work an back. Makes me a bit gutted that I sold the car now, as one reason was that the insurance on it was costing me twice what the replacement cars insurance was.

If you are planning on taking the plate off, get those forms in the post now as it currently is taking 2 weeks. I know as i did mine a few weeks back. The problem you have though, is that you need to change the address on the v5 first which will take 2 weeks or so, then put the plate on retention = another 2 weeks. So your looking at 4 weeks at the quickest before you`ll be in a position for someone to drive away with the car, with the value of the car dropping every month. Id definitely look at returning it to standard if possible as like someone else on here said, the money your looking for can get someone a minter 313 HR zed. So anything you can do to bring the price down to make it more appealing to Joe Public is definitely a plus, as at the end of the day Joe Public will be comparing this against other 2004 cars which maybe cheaper.

T'is a facelift, but not a HR. Thats right! Facelift came out in 2006, HR came out mid 2007. The price on that one does seem about right. 2007 ones seem to be around the £9500 mark, so 2006 for £8995 (maybe less if you knock him down) seems to be about right.
-
My 2007 roadster which was also mint, the same spec as this one and also had the optional Sat Nav is up for about £10500 at a dealer. Looking on autotrader, you can pick up similar 313 Coupe`s for £9500, so the What Car evalution is about right. The things you mention are pretty normal from what ive seen. The front tyres do seem to wear more on the inside due to the camber angle, and can cause the car to tramline all over the shop until you replace them. The grab handle on the drivers door is nearly always chipped and scratched. It seems the coating on it is very thin and people seem to open the door whilst clutching their keys. Sounds like that car however was very over priced when you factor in new tyres and fixing the bits you mention. Midnight blue is a colour people either love or hate and I think as a result, not many of them were sold, so you may have a bit of a search on your hands if you want one!

Shocking Nissan HPC experience West Way Manchester

Good point - that happens to me with almost everything I buy from gadgets, clothes, meals to cars. I start off with..."must be sensible and set budget at £X" and end up spending at least half as much again Same here. I always end up spending over what I had planned. Was thinking about test drives last night, and I remember back in 2000 riding by a BMW garage on my ZXR750 and spotting an M3 Evolution up on the forecourt for nearly £30k. I popped in and asked there & then for a test drive and they had no problems at all in letting me straight out in the car (with the sales person sitting next to me of course). A week or so later I saw a nearly new Lotus Elise at a Mazda garage and so I phoned up and arranged a test drive. I turned up again on a motorbike (albeit a brand new Ducati 748SPS which was around £12k), the sales bloke gave me the keys to the Elise and off I went. On my own. I took it back about 20mins later, gave him the keys back and left. He gave me no high pressure sales talk at all. In fact I dont think they even asked to see my driving license! -
Yep it does... just! The figures are: Early ones: 276bhp / 268lb ft The "300" models: 295bhp / 260lb ft The "313 HR" models: 309bhp / 264lb ft

My god i havent laughed as much in a very very long time. That car is just shocking.

By facelift model are you referring to the 300hp model? Also, does the higher tax apply to the facelift or for 2007 313 hp cars only? Cheers. Anything newer than 2006 has the higher tax bracket (465quid a year). The facelift came out in 2006 which improved the styling a bit, then Nissan completely redesigned the engine and made other improvements to the handling / steering etc in mid 2007 when they bought out the 313 model. The 313HR model actually has 309bhp and it kind of showed the max of what Nissan could do with the engine. The engine was 80% new, has improved cooling, has ram air through duel air intakes, 7500rpm rev limit compared to the 6500rpm limit the early cars had etc.. These cars have the bonnet bulge as despite the engine being mounted a lot lower in the chasis than the earlier cars to improve the cars handling, the engine is a bit taller than the old ones. Everyone I know who has driven the older zeds and then the 313 model says its like night and day. Id definitely try and go for one if you can afford it. They are coming down in price now. I had a look yesterday and there were some nice ones on autotrader for £9500.

The alezan ones were solid backed on the coupe and ventilated on the roadster.

Not selling well at all atm. I just sold my 2007 313 UK Roadster, with optional GT pack, optional Alezan interior, optional Sat Nav, ipod adapter, 18" Rays wheels, DS2500 pads, stainless exhaust, 4 new tyres, 12 months MOT. Totally mint, FSH, not a mark on it anywhere. 1 previous owner, and only 40k miles for £9k. Okay, so it was to a dealer, but they are struggling to shift it on their forecourt for £10,500k atm, so I know privately id have struggled to get that. Gutting really how much they have dropped in value. In general though the prices vary like mad. Theres a garage not far from my old house which seems to always have 350z`s in stock and they are asking £10500 for an 2005 plate.

Shocking Nissan HPC experience West Way Manchester
rabbitstew replied to Alex C's topic in 370z General
I think a lot of main dealers are all the same. Im struggling to think of a good experience ive had with one. When I bought my 350z roadster, I got a test drive, although it was about 3miles long, 10mins max if that, I couldnt get out of 3rd gear due to the traffic and the only time I managed to try the acceleration was 1st gear off some traffic lights. Still, I bought the car as it there was only a handful for sale nationwide. For servicing, when I took it back to the dealer I bought it from to have them check on something, they gave me the keys to a brand new 370z roadster and told me to keep it until they finished with my car which was 48hours later. Another dealer I went to, more locally took 50minutes to do a 15minute job and included revving the hell out of my car in the workshop to impress the other mechanics. Its not just Nissan though. I remember when I was hunting for a sporty diesel hot hatch for my ex missus, we went to Peugeot and they didnt have a single 207/208 diesel in stock for us to drive and didnt know when they would get one in. Seat didnt have a LEON 1.9TDI in stock either and so they gave us the keys to some 3 cylinder crappy version and said take it for a spin for 30mins. We just drove it home, left it in the drive for 20mins whilst we had some lunch then drove it back and said no. Renault on the other hand were much better. They gave us the keys to a clio dyamique s 1.5 dci (115bhp i think it was) which was fully loaded with factory extras and told us to come back in an hour. We had a great test drive in it, then had a good negotiation with the sales person who actually after much much haggling amazingly agreed to the price I asked for which was considerably less than the asking price. My most recent experience is with BMW, and ive got mixed feelings about it. I popped in one lunchtime to test drive a car they had in stock. They said that maybe an hour wouldn't be long enough so I should pop in in the morning when we can have longer. Sounds good and im thinking great a nice proper testdrive. So I pop in the next morning at 9am, thinking they would look at my driving license, let me have a drive so I can decide if I want the car. No. They actually spent a good hour with me in the showroom getting my details etc. They then look around my car and spend ages talking to me about what sort of budget do I have, have I considered finance, how about PCP? etc. etc... All I wanted was a 30minute test drive, but even that ended up taking well over 2 hours. "so, are you prepared to buy the car today sir" ? err... i havent even driven the bloody thing yet. After the test drive, which again was only about a 10minute drive as "its low on fuel". They tried every typical sales trick in the book and negotiation was extremely hard. Im the sort of person who sees a car, wants it and buys it there & then for cash. The same when I sell something. I normally happily drop the price for a quick sale. But BMW was very hard work. Loads of the usual "I must speak to the manager", and after I finally walked away, loads of phone calls to me saying they can knock £50 off a £26k car... wtf... This was all when it was the last day of the quarter too, when "apparently" sales people are more desperate for sales. In the end I did manage to knock them down a little bit, but still ended up paying £3k over what I wanted for it. Then, when it came to doing the part ex and them processing my old car, my god, they had no idea what they were doing and it involved all sorts of me messing about with DVLA and BMW to try and get them to process things correctly. In fact 9 weeks on and im still waiting for my tax disc refund. -
Good luck getting a black facelift for 9k. I too want a facelift, can afford it, but the extra in tax and initial outlay is really off putting. Unless I can pick one up for a bargain price of 8k then pre facelift it is for me too. Probably a "how long is a piece of string question" but how much would you, out should you be winning to negotiate off of trade poor private buys? When I was looking, black or silver seemed the most common colour around at the time, but fashions change. With your 2nd question, like you say its really how long is a piece of string. When I bought mine, I made offers on 2 and the sellers (dealers) refused to budge a penny on them. Seriously. I even tried walking away after a good hard haggling session and they still refused to budge on the full screen price. Usually you would get a bit more flexibility with a private sale, but the problem there is that 350`s have dropped in price a lot this last year, so people who are selling now may not be happy at letting the car go cheap (even if its a "fair" market price). I paid £16k for my zed last year and now its up for sale at a dealer for £11k. I got £9k for it trade in. Thats a big drop in value and not everyone would be happy letting a car go for that sort of cash. Some people figure they would rather keep it.

Gone are the days when a job is for life and companies actually looked after you. You have been with your firm for 6 years and now its taken over by some other company. They will start looking at what they have and make adjustments, so for all you know your job could end anyway. Companies dont think twice about how loyal their employees are these days. For that sort of money id definitely go for it. The reason I didnt go into contracting many years ago is that I was worried about what if contracts dont come up and you have no work for a while. But, ive quite a few mates who are contractors and they are racking it in and most of my clients I deal with atm also employ contractors - some of whom have been working for the same company for 3 or 4 years! As a contractor! The amount of money they must be earning is staggering - they are always making sure they get in on weekends, and always take 2 or 3 times longer than they need to on the work to claim extra money. As a side note, i went to a review meeting at one clients earlier in the year to review how a project we had just finished went and EVERYONE in the meeting had a brand new car. They were all contractors and over the 6 month project had racked in loads.

Looking on autotrader £9500 should get you a totally minter good spec low mileage 2007 313 model from a garage with warranty. So, if buying privately you should be able to find one a bit less than that.
