What a shame! I thought it was a brilliant idea. I've tried to show my son some basic maintenance checks and skills but it's like pulling teeth I think we run round after them so much, they don't see the need. If it breaks someone ELSE will fix it. Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits but sometimes.........
Do i sound like a sad old f*rt?
Shame I just sold mine, you would have been more than welcome to have driven it and compared. Perhaps because you,ve been driving it more you've got used to it? No fault codes showing or stored I presume, so can't be anything serious. Dave suggested clutch but i'm sure you would know if it was that. Only real way to be sure is a rolling road. There is a guy in Congleton who does a lot of rally cars.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted.
Love the updates! Keep up the great work.
Suppose you saw Bernie and the muppets on the last episode of classic car rescue doing the Mini " cooper " yours should be worth about 30k in comparison
That's because I never had chance to drive it! As you've said the paint and corrosion protection seems to be a downside to these cars. Just keep on top of it and don't ignore it.
Main thing is you are actually getting some use and enjoyment out of it, so don't become a "Stress Head" like my son accused me of being with it!
