  1. If I'm reading this right the op sold it direct to the garage and didn't claim on his insurance? So would it show up on an hpi report?
  2. Very nice Dave and as RT says, welcome to the Club! Ref the hat and gloves comments.....
  3. Yes, you need to hold the gear lever shaft itself to avoid damaging the rubber bush type retainer lower down. The knob itself does seem to have been loctited on from the factory so quite some force is required if it hasn't been off before. And yes anticlockwise.

Just a thought but what's happening with the fence damage. Were the police involved? You might have no control over the insurance needing to know. Not trying to be negative, but worth bearing in mind?
  5. How many great and epic expeditions down the ages have started off with just such a near catastrophic set back??? Have fun Dan, just a bit jealous.

Sorry to hear about this and hope you get it fixed. You say there was another car involved that cut you up. It's seeing stuff like this that makes me think getting some onboard cameras fitted to the works vans would be a good idea.
  7. Normally it's because I' m on my phone and my stumpy fingers click the wrong bit.
  8. Happy Birthday and All The Best!!!

Leftfield!!!! what happens when the drivers front wheel showers you in stones????
  12. Some great photos there guys. Especially liking the look of the 55 plate azure with nismo wheels. Thanks for looking after her Wizurd!
  13. Just try taking the knob off and wrap some insulation tape round the collet taping it to the shaft and then put the knob back on. The only reason I say this is mine did exactly what you are describing . Worth ruling out?
  14. There should be a round washer or collet that goes on the lever before the knob screws on, this is what is probably rattling. Take the knob off and wrap a bit of insulation tape round it. hopefully that should stop it.
  15. Brilliant! I'll keep an eye out for you but it won't stand out like the Zed.
  16. Just the 350 showing
  17. Congrats Chris, looks very nice! Will you be fitting retractable number plates to this as well?

  19. That is just brilliant!! Love the bit where he decides to move the fuel can.
  20. I think the main thing is to make sure you see the receipts. the bodywork I know you can sort. Looking at prices for the petrol ones there seems to be quite a variation. The only other local one I could find was a white wrapped one in Stockport with 138,000 at £6,495, so £7,300 is something like I suppose.
  21. Compare it with the original E type you see just how cars have grown in size.....
