  1. Is it just me, or does it look a bit similar to a mustang.....
  2. This happened to me too. Just tell them its not an import and they will deal with it.
  3. I use my Autoglym polish on the wheels as a sort of sealant. It brings out the shine plus puts an protective layer over the paint which the brake pad dust goes over, making it an easier job to clean after a month or so, and no staining or anything on the rims so I guess it is working!
  4. There is a lot to go wrong. 2.5 tons of vehicle and various electronic systems for air suspension and other technical gubbins means when something does go wrong its expensive. When it works its the best car in the world but most of the time you are just waiting for the next thing to go wrong. I was releatively lucky with mine - a couple of small issues like the EGR valves (recirculating exhaust gas for emmisions), twice the coupler on the steering wheel airbag thingy went (400 quid a pop) and a few air suspension dramas along with the usual wearing parts (it will eat through bushes). Yeh, I heard there are loads to go wrong with them. Too much electronics these days!
  5. I liked my RRS - added a few bits on as well - but the running cost of the SC Zed paled in comparison to running an RRS - performance and massive weight don't really go well together - my diesel RRS handled better than a mates supercharged RRS (which still wasn't particularly quick) - def go diesel if you can and buy a track day toy. I have heard these newer Range rovers have quite a few problems in various areas. Have you had any problems with yours?
  6. That's the thing though. Say you had a 335/330d, you'd get what, 50mpg? If your buying a 4x4 you wouldnt really be looking for fuel economy to be honest, but you may compare the fuel economy in the 4x4 range. Recent 4x4 like the new range rovers are quite poor on fuel economy and get about 20 mpg if your lucky. 4x4's have changed over the years though, and they have become more of a luxury 4x4 sports car appealing to more people who will most likely never take them off tarmac, and for this reason if you want a proper 4x4 you should buy older models and not the new stuff with funny electronics and gizmos. My landcruiser has been with me since new, 15 years know and coming to 200,000 where all I have done is change the head and radiator on it. Other than that she has never let me down.
  7. You're still not selling it enough for me Why have a v6 derv when you can have a 6.1 hemi v8? I don't believe it's economy as I don't think most people get a 4x4 for economy. My Landcruiser with a 3lt turbo diesel engine will get 35 mpg cruising at 80/90 mph. Not bad for weighing 2 tonnes and 16 years old....
  8. Im sure you can get a decent set of rims off ebay? May I ask how much you paid for it?
  9. Brilliant - I was actually down at my mates farm yesterday and we went across the fields with his Defender. Safe to say I think that thing could go ANYWHERE. I asked him if he ever got it stuck and he said it had happened once or twice. He said he can often get it out by putting some carpet under the wheels for traction, failing that it's call out the tractor to pull her out. Gonna have a look on Autotrader today for inspiration. The RR Vogue/Sport seem like good options, but I can't help but look at the Cayenne Turbo and imagine HOW much fun it would be. The range rovers and nice cars, especially the interior and the amount of luxury you get plus the supercharged beast of an engine, but the reason why I wouldn't buy one is because of how unreliable they are. The recent one's especially have engine problems, and the olden ones have there problems with the head and overheating. Thats why I went for a Landcruiser
  10. I wouldnt agree with you completely there. I have 20" rims on my cruiser with 295 45 20 Kuhmo tyres and they were Brilliant through the snow and Ice. We got quite a bit too and I still travelled to work everyday in it 120 miles a day, even on the motorway where all you could see was snow and cars sliding. I even tried to slide about but the 4wd system in the landcruiser is so goood. In my opinion it is down to your tyre choice and tread pattern. Obviously for more harder off roading like thick mud ect you will need decent tyres. Whats a motorway????? We have to drive 90 miles to get to one of them. 20s with an all weather tyre will still perform. 20s with road biased rubber will fail miserably. I have seen many a blinged X5 on 22s stuck in the snow. Yeh, those x5's and range rovers have such a small tyre profile that there is hardly and flex in the sidewall.

  12. Would rather prefer one of these
  13. If you have 60k to spend and have enough left over to put fuel in it.....
  14. If your after a proper 4x4, I would go with the latest model Toyota Landcruiser V8 Twin Turbo Amazon I have had mine for about 14 years, 150,000 on the clock and still going strong! Amazing car, great reliability, quick, not bad mpg and the noise it makes, on top of that, you get loads of gadgets, luxury and a 4x4 capable of going anywhere.
  15. Yeh, thats what I meant My wheels are 15 offset 9.5 wide 285 35 19" so quite similar to yours and they only touch when either cornering very hard or a big dip on the road, not a massive issue to be honest.
  16. whats the offset on that wheel?
  17. well they are on the way but in the mean time i need to run a west midlands meet and can't do that with rubber being shaved off. Who'd have thought that pirelli prosso's are 2 inches wider that vredesteinUS's for the "same size". How badly does your tyres rub? Pic?
  18. aha Im not too bothered about it know, as I have found out it can crack the paint, and nissan didnt really do a god job with the paint work so it would properly be easy to crack.
  19. I had this exact problem. You will need to remove the door card and behind one of the black sticky labels there is a reset button for the window motor. I believe you have to press this and wind the window down and then release and wind it fully back up and it should shut properly. If you have any problems PM me. The instructions for this is on the 350z Manual.
  20. nope, many people have done that same setup.
  21. People have the fronts at 20 as they dont want anything to rub. You can get away with 25 but it will rub a little. And yes, having tyres that are outside the arch will fail the mot due to spray when raining. But 25 will be safe, 30 may work as well if you roll your arches over.
  22. hmm do you think I could maybe borrow it.....
  23. Hi guys, Im keen on getting my rear arches rolled and they occasionally touch the tyres. Does anyone have the kit, or know a good place to get it done? Thanks, Beau
  24. Im sure people have said the max you can go is about 27/28mm,so best bet is 25 all round.
