  1. it works - but there's no-one home at the moment - I thought you guys never stopped ??
  2. the words OMG OMG spring to mind (and I'm not a teenager.......but OMG) the only thing I can think of for the alignment is to get a flange plate made up and slot it between the x pipe and back box ? thoughts anyone ?
  3. Hi folks well after a tiny amount of persuasion from Will370z and after listening to his Stillen on Rosie - I went ahead with the Berks HFC group buy, but knew it would need that little extra. Now after doing all the usual searches on youtube, I'd more or less settled for the Berks CBE as well - contacted Tarmac who did a sterling job despite the best efforts of the courier company to completely c*ck it up. Anyway photo's 1st what a complete bugger it was to get the stock cats off Berk HFC now a little video around 1:10 you can hear the hiss of the HFC's Left Tail Pipe Right Tail Pipe Ok - suggestions on how to get the alignment -10mm difference cheers all
  4. HFC's installed - no fitment issues - but an absolute bugger to get the oem cats off
  5. I have the black rose GT Edition - love it but also love the anniversary edition with red seats and callipers etc sorry - doesn't help does it
  6. All the best and hope it all fits. Did it arrive in the end? 3:00pm - took 2 days from the USA, then 5 days from Bristol to Pembrokeshire
  7. by quieter - you mean no vibration rattle never mind - will let you know how mine goes tomorrow
  8. with it being so prominent in the picture - what do you think ?
  9. In fairness, they could respond with what they'd do if they were a man for the day scratch their nuts and fart all day
  10. lets just wait for the sprinkles to post up - I suspect that there will be some choice remarks
  11. DE & HR refers to the type of engine MY is the model / year (i think)
  12. the first stage (and the hardest)
  13. Seriously, ive had high flow cats put on both my 350 and 370, i agree wholeheartedly with tarmac, get professionals to install it. Its a very tricky job, especially going in through the engine bay. Also if anything goes wrong its up to the garage to fix it. For the sake of 50-100 quid its a far better option. agreed - if you have the option but it is definately a do-able DIY job (with the correct tools)
  14. good luck with that - good pointer though is get some of that Plusgas (and leave it to soak in) - that combined with brute force and ignorance worked for me in the end and don't worry if the bolts shear
  15. good news (and bad) 1stly the good - The old cats are off (without shearing the 2nd bolt - not a problem if they do though as the cats just come off then and new bolts with the HFC's) bad news - the "extra" bits still haven't arrived so the HFC's are on and the original CBE is off the car - once it arrives, shouldn't take long to put together - I just can't wait now
  16. The valve should terminate above the highest trap - so somewhere around the 4' mark It sucks air in and should not let any out - if it is the durgo, then most likely the rubber or spring has stuck - the sewer air is denser than "normal" air so will settle to the lowest point ie under the bath - leaching out from the boxing where the 50mm pipes enter
  17. go to the showroom dressed in trousers and a tie - watch the reaction then (providing they don't recognise you) go in scruffy jeans and t-shirt - now guage the reaction I've done this a few times, only jeans 1st, then suited next - in fact I've actually told them I'd called previously and noted how I'd been treated......then walked away --- sale lost
  18. The BS requires that 1 in every 7 houses on a run needs to terminate to open air. - see I do read books (really boring ones ) also, as mentioned - check any shallow traps - showers are classic for this
  19. + 1 on this - either get a Durgo valve fitted or if its already installed - take it apart and check the springs inside (or just get a new one) ps not many builders know what these are !!!!
  20. Feeling pretty down after today - but I bet once we get that remaining bolt off I will be its an absolute bugger
  21. GRRRRRrrrrrrrr don't let anyone tell you this is a simple job passenger side Cat now removed after 1 bolt sheared (the one through the engine bay) drivers side..............bolt through the engine bay will not budge !!!.......and to make matters worse the bolt head may have slightly rounded now any suggestions anyone ? started at about 9:30am, gave up at 3:00, time to let some wd40 soak in - the car is only 6 months old so not really a rust problem but those bolts through the bay are soooooo damned tight
  22. I don't think I'd have gone through with the purchase if mine had been that high (£1108 cheaper )
  23. HFC's have arrived - cheers Tarmac but the "little extra" is due later on in the day - so hopefully will get it all done by late wednesday afternoon
  24. depends on your age, location, marital status etc.... but yes it can be beaten Tesco, strangely enough for me
