  1. Even at 21 the insurance will probably be over £1000 with current insurance rates so factor that in with your budget. From recent posts if you live in a "good" postcode area you can save a heck of a lot. Good luck with the search!
  2. I love dogs like that. My boxer is due for an operation also, the flaps of skin around his nose have rubbed raw and they just wont heal properly. They may have to do some work around his mouth too, he's really been suffering the last few days with the heat as he is panting and therefore his face is always wet. I must say, even as horrific as the images are, the camera work is really good What's he weigh in at? My boxer is about 92lbs, our old boxer was much bigger probably closer to 120lbs or more but your's looks a lot bigger lol.
  3. Nice review. I've only had a quick 10 minute go in a Zed older than my 57 plate so can't comment too much. However like you I'd love to get hold a 370z in the future. The cheapest used I have seen is £19k. They may drop if they release a facelift version as different as the HR 350z to the older ones.
  4. The aim was to hold onto my 350z for 7 years or so and then look at getting a GTR, that has just gone right out the window! 370z instead I think!
  5. Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated. I think I will bite the bullet and go for a Tommy K back and a satin Z front. I assume the Tommy K ones are still available from Likwidart. How difficult is it to remove the badge from the rear brace? Could I take the badge off and simply put a Tommy K style one in it's place?
  6. If you can do that for me. I still have a few weeks before Japfest, can't order much at the moment with the bank holidays anyway.
  7. Sorry if this is a repost, but oh, my, goodness... The poor Zed... I'm pretty sure this wont polish out... http://my350z.com/forum/the-lounge-off- ... uined.html
  8. That's what I was thinking... I don't think the black badges will work on the dark blue too well for me. I like the black badges on white or black zeds though . What to do, what to do
  9. My boot carpet has had it so I'm after a new one. I've looked around and found ones like this: I assume these are better quality than the one in my car, which is falling apart and is very thin. If anyone has one for sale, let me know! EDIT: While I'm at it, if anyone has one of these or similar, let me know again, they seem to be pretty hard to find in the UK... No idea of the prices, but good quality second hand is good. Some prices I have seen for new is mad.
  10. Right, I have decided I've had enough of the standard Nissan badges on the front & back of the Zed. The "NISSAN" writing is pitted and apart from going over it very carefully with paint to fill it in, it is starting to bug me as the rest of the car looks pretty good. I can't decided what I want though... I've had a few ideas, but without seeing any alternative badges in the flesh, I can only assume how they will look. Ideally, I would want to order and fit them before Japfest (typical the best opportunity to see the alternatives!). So here's the car: And here's the badges I have been thinking about, I thought the red on blue would look pretty nice, but thoughts? The second alternative badge is: The current standard one is chrome: Not sure how satin would look on a dark coloured car: Input and thoughts would be great. I've done a bit of searching around but can't find a Tommy K badge on my coloured car.
  11. Not been to Texas yet but I've been all over the states. I'd love to do a road trip in a classic 60s Mustang just to say I've done it.
  12. It's a long job to machine polish, but if you have a friend with one or can buy one and use it at a family members it is well worth it. I thought my car was pretty faultless but after my first attempt I managed to get some decent results and realised that the car had more marks than I thought. Just remember, you need to give it a really good clean before you use a machine polisher. That's what makes the day so long, just getting it ready to polish .
  13. I would love to put that under my neighbours car at night...
  14. I have a midnight blue Z too and I love the colour. Not seen many other folk on the forum with one.
  15. Here's a picture from when I last cleaned the car. The foam was the first step & this is what came off the wing, wheel arches & wheel.
  16. Stay will me here I haven't gone mad. I saw an advert today saying that if you spend £40 in Morrison's, you can get 6p a litre off when you fill up. Whilst most will see that as a good offer, I see it as a kick in the teeth that a company can drop 6p per litre (and still make a profit) when it suits them. To me it really does show that the consumer is massively taken advantage of for the one commodity that almost everyone in the UK relies on in some way. Rant over
  17. The problem there is they never register their vehicles to their own address, they generally register their vehicles to addresses that have some distant link them them. The problem with insurance is that unless the fines are of a cost that is more than the insurance premium, it wont work. You see it all the time now when the police issue a £200 fine and seize the car under 165 RTA. The driver will carry on in the future as their insurance is still 5x the cost of the fine and they risk getting more points in the meantime as points on a license means nothing if you don't care in the first place. It's like my pet hate, using a mobile phone whilst driving. The £60 and 3 points isn't enough to put people off. If it was £200 and 6 points, I bet people would think twice. However, anything like this is progress. I'm all for punishing those who cause everyone else to pay more to use their cars.

    New Gear knob

For the cost of replacing the original one, you could get a really nice stainless steel one made custom for your car. I am having the same dilema at the moment, just waiting to get some cash!
