Ah that's awesome, makes a lot more sense. I will have to go check my current setup & do some calculations! Thanks for clearing that up! Brilliant. Just unsure now if I will need more than a 30mm drop - lowering springs or coilovers. Hmm
-
If your using your 350 as a drift car your going to be eating tyres and it really won't matter - If you want to use it on the road at best it will wear tyres quicker at worst it won't handel well at all. Nice. I won't be using it for drifting, but replacing tyres every 6 months(??) due to camber is fine with me.
-
Just keep the ratio of rolling radius front to back the same as OEM and the TCS (traction control) wont be a problem. Saying you will just turn it off all the time is asking for trouble. If you have a crash and the insurance find out you had TCS off then you may not be covered. Hm are you talking about the relation between front & back? I notice my current setup does indeed have different profile tyres front & back, however I also know the Rays are different widths too. I defiantly won't be running with the same profile tyres or similar tyre fitment to OEM as they're so chunky, I will be going for more stretch, as to tuck the tyre better under the fender. I can't see me having problems with TCS off, I don't find the 350 very tail happy even when off and I'm used to my s13 which I use for drifting - 290hp, welded diff, etc.
-
Also people saying that I absolutely need camber correction etc. Do I really though? I mean, my drift/track car is an s13 and I slammed that with no camber arms, lots of camber very far from factory settings and it felt great.
-
Nice thanks for the replies. What's TCS though? Lol. Traction control I guess? Then I'll just turn it off with my new setup. New wheels might be something like 18x10 with 265/35 Tyres, means 15mm drop, so fair bit less rolling radius.

Haha, nice. Actually, to contradict myself a bit, just done some reading & looking, a 30mm drop on lowering springs looks pretty good. And in fairness this still my daily. Although it would look good on stock Rays wheels, I'm unsure just a 30mm drop would look any good on my "new wheels idea", since I'd be running a lower profile, therefore more gap. Also done some reading - BC Racing Coilovers - seem cheap & people say they're good? Any thoughts/comments?

Hey guys, In the middle of a dilemma with either thinking of selling my 350 or beginning to modify it, so just putting some feelers out there, and getting some ideas together. Thinking of potentially buying some nice rims & coilovers and lowering it a fair bit. However, just wondering how much the 350's can be dropped by before they start to be too effected by handling? Of course, the camber & toe will be put out when I lower, but how far is "reasonable" before things get silly? And has anyone done a serious drop with no camber/toe adjustments - how does the car feel? Second question, coilover choice, are these any good? >> http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Nissan-350Z-D ... s/p-0-873/ Or is it worth the extra and go for HSD's? >> http://www.driftworks.com/shop/hsd-hr-c ... z-z33.html My car is used daily/fast-road, Cheers guys

Lunchtime bump. The car is now advertised over on Piston Heads as well. Had a couple questions already - just to note it is a UK car not an import - this means cheaper insurance & in terms of the 350z this means more goodies & better spec (ie, cruise control, Brembo brakes, etc)
-
Ok no worries. Mmmmm R8, wish I could afford that as a PX, eh! Let me know anyway, genuinely a great car, no faults at all. Its so lush to drive - as I say, still thinking about it at the moment, don't want to regret this.

Just had a look through, can't find much. Its not something I bothered checking when I first bought it, since I know Jez & Horsham Developments well Anyway, found a couple receipts from West Way Nissan, Aldershot... Ns/Of Hinge Assy hood, Energy Absorbe Ns headlamp cover Ns moulding black (??) Nissan badge If you want, I can give Jez a ring in the morning and see if he knows any more information

Cool no worries, I have all the paperwork with me here, give me a few mins and I'll run through it & post up

Still in the thinking stage about this at the moment, but here's my lovely 2004 model 350z Azure GT for sale, with just 32,000 on the clock. The car has served me very well over the time I've had it and I've had it for almost a year now. I bought it from Jez from Horsham Developments with some performance bits already fitted, such as a full set of Friction Performance brake pads, the H-Dev Plenum spacer, and the full Japspeed K2 exhaust system, including decats. The car has also had a remap by Horsham Developments and runs extremely well, with pretty good MPG to match! MOT is due next year I think Feburary, flew through last years one fine. Tax has about 5 months remaining. The car was fully serviced by Horsham Developments earlier this year as well. Its a genuine GT, so comes with some toys - cruise control, Brembo brakes, heated seats, Nissan sat-nav built into the dash, Bose speakers & subwoofer, the handsfree system. Really nice place to be Since I've owned it, I have fitted USDM (American) orange side-markers rather than the Nismo clear one's, since I think they follow the lines of the car better, and works well with the blue. I've put on a square numberplate, and removed the OEM mount for it since I think it looks better, however the original plate & mount will come with the car. Finally, I've also had the wheel professionally reconditioned. I have also now changed the exhaust for a single rear exit. I will have to get photos of this, but it looks really nice, and sounds.. superb! I still have the twin tailpipe Japspeed rear box which will be included with the car Right, so here's some pics. As said, I am indeed still *thinking* about this, as I love this car very much. I use it daily, and it gets me to & from work with no faults. Never let me down, and the guys at work really like it too! There is one thing to note with this car, that is it a cat-c. However, please don't be put off by this as this has unaffected my insurance costs, intact the woman on the phone when I enquired about the insurance said as long as the car has MOT, then it doesn't affect the price. I am informed from Horsham Developments that the car was repaired to an extremely high standard by the previous owner! I'm trying to be very fair & reasonable here, so here's the bad points I can think of - some very small scratches on the passenger door, very small & doesn't detract from the car. Running costs - I get between 26-30mpg on a motorway trip with the cruise control on, a bit less if its around town. Insurance, I'm 24yrs old and its £640 fully comp which I can't believe (through Sky Insurance btw). I am asking £8,000 O.N.O. A genuine GT car with low milage and some performance bits, the cat-c doesn't affect your insurance costs. Email is the best contact as I'm at work most of the time & can't answer my phone - dazecoop@gmail.com - or PM me via this forum. Pop your number on the email/PM and I'll get back to you ASAP, for a viewing and a test drive, etc. I'm doooouwn south, Southampton basically. Thanks

Ah wicked, boom. that sounds about right! I'll have a wiggle of everything later and see what's loose and go from there then. At the moment I can't imagine it being a heatsheild in all honestly, its quite a loud/harsh rattle, sounds like the physical exhaust is hitting stuff, rather than a heatsheild rattling. However, I guess best bet is to get under the car again and have another look I'll post up what I find!
-
Well the car was completely noseless and rattle-free until fitting the exhaust yesterday. Like 110% completely noseless, literally no noises I think it could be something to do with the exhaust expanding when it gets hotter, then the rattle and noise goes away.
-
What I was thinking, indeed. When I was fitting it I was looking at how close it was, but as I tightened up the bolts it seemed to pull itself up and quite far away from it. Might have another check. I also noticed that the standard cats had a gearbox brace on them, whereas the Japspeed datcats have no bracket on them to re-attach this...?
-
I will have a look at this, this evening. However, I really don't think its near the rear at all. This sounds like its coming directly from below the floor under my seat area. And its very very noticeable indeed, more like a clunk/bang rather than a gentle rattle noise...?
-
Hey guys, Finally got round to fitting my K2 Japspeed system yesterday, went all well, but now for the first 2-5 mins when driving the car, when cold, it rattles really bad! When I say rattles, it sounds like the exhaust or something is physically hitting other parts of the car. When it was in the air I inspected everything with the exhaust and it sits quite far away from anything that could possibly come into contact with it. It sounds like its coming from just below the dash, near my feet area. So maybe decat's hitting something? Once warm, literally after 5 mins of driving, it doesn't do it at all. I've searched around a bit but haven't yet found any solutions. Thanks!

Indeed it is, the 350z center bore (regardless of wheels) is 66.1mm. I've just found some good quality spacers cheap (2nd hand), but they are the incorrect center bore size. Just wondered if that makes much of a difference
-
Hey guys, I'm about to buy some hub-centric wheel spacers for my 350z, but have found that the centre bore of the spacer is 67.1mm. I've come to understand this is larger than the centre bore of the stock Rays 350z wheels (which is 66.1mm). Is this important to get right? I know you can get Spigot rings to correct this, but I can't find any which are this thin! Only 1mm in it!! Also, my other car (a drift s13) has aftermarket wheels of 73mm bore, and I don't use spigot rings in that at all - seems fine. Thanks

Bump, before I order a pair from USA
-
Evening bump As previously stated, can't do the swap on the clear ones as I've sold them already, but can pay good money for orange ones, or swap+cash for JDM tinted orange ones
-
Very informative Paul, thanks so much for clearing that up. Damn, why does american cars always get it good! I am beginning to wonder two things now.. 1, Get american headlights, sell mine? Shouldn't be too much out of pocket here, but worth it? would US headlights be legal/OK over here? 2, Search deep into Nissan's part numbers, buy said parts? Split my headlights apart, retro-fit, done Hmmmmm all for a little orange light

Just PM'ed ya an idea I'm looking on eGay for you as well dude haha
