  1. I was thinking, what with all this Waxybox action (and clearly some passionate owners / detailers) we should look at our own swap shop. I have tonnes of products, some of which I don't get on with but someone else might Maybe we need a section to do swaps etc but for detailing stuff (not just parts?)
  2. PM me your address and I will hook you up.
  3. If you're nice I can give you a small amount....
  4. Yeah I'm going to do a two dayer on mine once the weather improves, will do a write up
  5. Good choices. I have had some of the best results ever from ultimata paintwork protector .... Rarely used here due to cost and availability . But if you can get hold of some do it. Looks and smells like ipa.... Apply with an applicator thinly, let dry for 30 mins and if done correctly ... No buffing needed. Apply another layer if you wish. Looks like zaino but bonus of no buffing
  6. What he said Louise...Key to detailing is the prep.... Do it once, do it well, and then use a careful wash routine which doesn't damage paint. Clay bar should only be used maybe twice a year, and will remove all protection and will also potentially marr the paint as it is very soft. Once LSP applied unlikely to need to clay often tbh. Finally, a fallout remover like iron x as part of that prep would be good. Amazing stuff and you'd be surprised how much crud it will get rid of, even after claying. Applying a final stage protection step should be as regular as you need it. So, some waxes could be every other wash. Some will last longer. Top up protection with a quick detailer if not going the whole hog. But my suggestion would be, once well polished - preferably by machine - do an ipa wipedown and apply a decent sealant like wolfs hardbody. This will last about 6 months.... Obv. This is just my preference, some people like the look for certain products. Sealants tend to do ultra glossy reflection whereas wax can look 'warmer' and more liquid...

  8. Yeah I reckon grey will come up nicely with a sealant - silver and white do too. Why not go for something 'nano' to add a layer of glossiness - maybe Wolf's hardbody or Ultima? Cheers Rob
  9. Don't feel deflated mate- most people have their own views. Crucially, through trial and error, you will find what YOU like to use etc. I've used literally hundreds of products and now know what I do / don't like What colour Zed?
  10. 6 left.... And email from Richard today - all people ordering using our code will get some additional freebies too. And I believe the Feb box sold out so am assuming it will be a March box, but will email to confirm!
  11. I too started with mega stuff... And the only things I'd return are the three step polish system. If we are talking halfords, best polish there is Autoglym super resin and their HD wax. BUT cheaper and better as a starter kit would be Primo amigo as a polish / filler followed by finishkare 1000p hi temp wax. These will cost you £20 total online, last ages and perform really really well....
  12. If you're anywhere near West Sussex I'll show you mate
  13. Right guys, Richard has agreed to do each box @ £10 + postage and will generate a unique 350Z-UK 'code' I will PM any members who want to take advantage of this offer, limited to 25 for the first month. Clearly this is a 350Z forum code ONLY and cannot be shared wider than this group - please respect this as otherwise we will lose the offer. Also, can a mod please confirm if this is all ok and if not advise what I need to do? Cheers Rob
  14. PS please excuse pic quality - some colours went a bit funky !
  15. Got to love a Zaino reflection shot Thanks for reading Rob
  16. Thought as the weather was 'ok' that I'd give the 350z a mini detail. Really wanted to use the Flex and properly machine polish her due to various RDS on the bonnet and general light swirling. In the end I corrected the bonnet only and, with the weather looks less decent, put off other machine work until another day. Process: Started with the interior, which looked like this: Removed mats (including boot mat) for shampooing inside the house. Then hoovered the car thoroughly. Wiped down interior plastics with APC and a microfibre, then dressed with Poorboys interior dressing. Cleaned the windows with Autolusso glass cleaner. Cleaned the leather with Zaino leather cleaner, a brush and microfibre cloth.... then, once dry, applied Zaino leather cream to nourish it again. Got inside and checked out the mats - some oil stains on the boot one and general grubbiness on the footwell mats. Got the wet 'n' dry vacuum out and cleaned with Biobrisk. Nicely shifted all the muck Next, time to tackle the engine bay - only a quick clean so no pics. Doused in Autobrite Jaffa, brushed to agitate, then jetwashed off. Now, the outside. This is how it looked at the outset: So, I know not 'awful' as I keep my car clean. But done a 500 mile trip to Crewe over the weekend so paint looking tired and in need of some attention. Snow foamed (Bilt Hamber foam) Left to dwell for 10 mins, then jetwashed to leave: Attacked the wheels with Autobrite wheel cleaner and a wheel woolie (perfect for these wheels) leaving: They need for refurb soon to be 100%, but no bad. Then, to remove any remaining fallout, used Purple Rain: I then cleaned the car using the 2 bucket method and Dodo Supernatural shampoo. Normally I hate this stuff but it is decent at cleaning without any frills, so used some. Dried off using a monster towel leaving this: Looks ok, but I can see the scratches. Hard to photo using an HTC phone, but had a go. Bonnet looks like someone used a wiper blade thing to dry it before :S I used the Flex rotary on the bonnet using Optimum polish and one of their microfibre pads - pics later. Gave up on machining due to time and weather. Really just wanted to see how she handled as I haven't used her before. So, did an IPA wipedown and applied Zaino (my favourite LSP). Used Z5 Pro with Z-FX to accelerate curing. Applied to car and left to cure - so picked up some details ... Exhaust before: Tackled with the classic steel wool and Autosol. Buffed with MF towel. Leaving: Love a shiny milltek Took the opportunity to try something new too: Spray on wheel protection - spray, buff, and allegedly protects wheels - will see if this really happens in the future. Anyway, removed first layer of Zaino, then did another. Once cured I wiped down with Z8. Then applied Zaino tyre dressing too, polished windows etc. These are the afters - not perfect, but am improvement
  17. Sorry guys for delay. Latest update - Richard's first stab at an idea was a tenner a box with me receiving all of them then distributing them onwards. I cant commit to this so he has gone away to work on a plan B
