  1. Yeah ^^ what he said^^ Can mix a bit of your citrus degreaser in there to remove traffic film (or wax) or put APC in there for your arches etc too
  2. PAYG mate - and speaking to Richard last night via email it seems that is how he wants the business model for the club to run for another month until he figures out what works - he didn't want waxybox to be subs based as he thought PAYG would appeal to a wider audience. I guess if feedback from customers is 'I want subs' he may change it, however
  3. I go with the rule of thumb that, unless the prep product is 'made' for a sealant rather than a wax, I do an IPA / panel wipedown before applying sealant. The glazing oils in many pre wax cleansers and indeed waxes prevent the sealants from bonding properly. A good example of something that works is Prima Amigo (recommended) followed by a sealant (Zaino bonds to it) Something I found didn't work was Clearkote RMG (old skool favourite) and the sealants I use - smeary and looks 'oily' on the paint (in a bad way)
  4. Hey guys Back from Mexico (boooo!) Used my box today.. at least some of it. Air Freshener - prefer the lemon sherbet smell of this month to the cranberry of previous - so win! Dr Beasley tyre stuff - really liked this, applied with included applicator and nicely finished off my tyres - not too glossy, and defo made them blacker. Still got a big bottle of Meg's endurance so will see which is cheaper come replacement time! Quick Detailer - bit 'meh' this one - like the vast majority of all those out there Shampoo - love it, use it already - so nothing new for me Used the wax on the bathroom sink and bath - don't use wax on my cars currently as hooked on Zaino again - but can confirm that both are beading nicely now On a Waxybox 'future' note - Richard's asked me for club feedback so I've emailed some of the above comments (assume this is ok as public forum?) and have asked for a longer term (and still cheaper) solution for our club. So watch this space. Rob
  5. Bummer. So respray and then find a 350z car bra for a few weeks?
  6. Hey guys Anywhere down south that you know of that does bumper resprays followed by protective film application? Fed up of stone chips !
  7. I will email Richard when back from mexico and figure out a longer term subs for our club. I know the vw boys are loving it too
  8. I always sniff a waxy box before I get stuck in Boom
  9. I find spray sealants don't work we'll over waxes, nanolex does the same thing. And britemax shampoo rules... This and duragloss 901 are THE shampoos!
  10. Hey, it is my honeymoon! Riu palace mexico, jacuzzi suite. Bosh
  11. I'm in mexico so hoping I have mine waiting when I get home...! Gtecniq what?!?
  12. ..parked up by the recycling bins. Looked awesome!
  13. Yeah I'm struggling to find something I like more than the zaino system. Ultima is very good too but similar tbh. Given up on wax as, for me, none match the look of a good sealant on black or blue ... Which is the colour of our cars!
  14. Not the best pic but still like the way it looks
  15. I must admit I like the wet look on tyres, which I know isn't too everyone's tastes so do two layers.... And the Z8 I now use as part of the 'whole' Zaino system, so Z5 pro layers cured with ZFX underneath. Love it.... Took some pics today despite washing her yesterday so will post soon
  16. So, gave the zed a mini detail yesterday and tried out Meg's Endurance Tyre Gel and Zaino Z8 for the first time (bought recently) Both are WOW - can't believe I've never used them before. Sitting on a layer of Z5 the Z8 looks like another clearcoat - amazing. And the tyre gel is by far the best I've used too.
  17. I'd prefer a paste purely as it is easier to apply thinly Doubt you will see any difference in the finish at all, however - it is all down to the prep with most waxes
  18. Nice work mate. What is the swirling like on yours? Need to break out the rotary on mine as I've still not shifted all of mine :S
  19. So, I think poorboys is way over rated - I used to use it too. Like bodywork, it is all in the prep - dirt can't stick easily to slippery wheels... but the difference is heat and hot iron / metal particles flying off brake pads. I'd swear by a silica nano coating for wheels. Do a full clean off them, including tar and iron X, IPA wipedown, then Gteqnic or CarPro wheel seals - do two layers once cured. This will last for 6 months to a year and only need bodywork shampoo and a sponge to remove dirt from - worst case. A wax will work, but their protection breaks down under such extreme heat - if you wanted to spend less money there are cheaper options like jetseal and fk1000p which are high temp sealants
  20. Any nano silica sealant I'd recommend OR FK1000p
  21. I had this happen with a strong tar remover from there before. Let Richard know ....
