  1. Some developement engines at the moment are running very high compression for FI so they have very good throttle response. Koenigsegg have apparently developed a whole new design of VVT that is said to boost from near enough tick over to redline. Also we have the 918 spyder and the ferrari F70 on the way. Both promising a KERS system that will have no doubt filtered down from Audi E-tron Le Mans and F1 respectively. Exciting times
  2. After reading the descriptions of DJ products I'd say its because the entire companies workforce are on mushrooms
  3. So i finally got round to using the dodo juice blue velvet i bout about 8 months ago. The car hasnt been washed, apart form the odd blast with a soapy jet wash, for about the same amount of time. I dont have a hose at the moment or a pressure washer, so i bought one of those things that you put plant food in and pump up, then squirt. put some car shampoo in with warm water and it really worked well as a cheep alternative to a foam lance or similar. not quite as thick foam as a lance but did the job. I left it to dry fully overnight then used a meguiars clay bar. As a lube i use watered down cheap car polish, works well for me. The Dodo juice was really nice to work with. I got one of the finger mit things to apply it with, then it buffed off really easily. as a bonus it smells really nice like fruity bubblegum. was tempted to try some I washed, clayed then dodo'd it, couldnt be bothered polishing My paint is not in great nick but it has come up really nice. few pics off my crappy phone camera here: Chris EDIT: yes i am aware that my badge has fallen off, havent got round to fitting a new one yet
  4. well i figured it would stand out to the guy if he saw the title.
  5. Decided not to put the decats on before i go just on case. I would feel like a bit of a wally if i went all the way down there and failed the noise test I may have a friend coming this time if he can get the day off. I'm well excited again
  6. I pulled up right next to you as you were leaving kendal Asda. ditto on the furthest from shop so i don't get scratched choice on parking bays
  7. I live in the lakes (possibly the wettest part of the country) so, out of spite i pay no attention to the hosepipe ban. Not like we're short of water up here anyway.
  8. I went to the WEC race in spa (one of the 6 hour races in the championship that LeMans is now part of). The Audis were so fast. i have never seen anything monster a corner like the E-tron going up Au-rouge. I would love to go to Le Mans some time. maybe i could convoy down with some of you next year. only prolem is i live in Cumbria so it's a right mission down to the euro tunnel. Have fun!! Chris
  9. Yeah Mclaren look fast but i wont be surprised if they throw it away with a stupid mistake again.
  10. I can see why having one of those cameras installed would be handy, but i could also imagine it getting you in a lot of trouble if you ever went for a spirited drive and the footage ended up in the wrong hands. People who have no interest in cars (and therefore buy a corsa) tend to have no interest in driving and are therefore no good at it. - I'm always aware of Honda Jazz's turning right on roundabouts from the left lane. It happens all too often
  11. Yes they are very good in all conditions. You should ask the rider of the GSX-R who nearly killed himself trying to shake me off the other down some twisties day
  12. Old thread but meh, figured this would be the best place to post. I have some used Decats which i was planning on fitting myself as soon as i can scrounge a monster/load of extensions. i have gaskets and spacers but i don't have any new bolts. i was going to use the original bolts but after reading this i think i should get some new ones. Does anyone know the size of the bolts/set screws i would need?
  13. Just booked it. Hope to see you there. Have a few more bits to go on the car i'll have to get them on in plenty of time, not leave it till the night before like last time.
  14. Booking one for 20th of june. Thread here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=62289
  15. I got the holiday approved today so i'm booking this this week http://book.easytrack.co.uk/car-track-day-bbr-oulton-park-brb-wednesday-20th-june-1162-p.asp Would be great to see some of you there
  16. As i linked on the previous page. GT racing is so much better to watch. Just hasn't had the bernie effect. I find it funny how peopole would rather watch 2 ours of boring formula one than an action packed GT race that is so much more down to earth and exciting If you like racing you should check it out the racing is full on from start to finish and the cars are beasty versions of the GT / supercars we all know and love on this forum. no GT-Rs this year though, but the Mclarens and SLS' make up for that
  17. I quite like ant davidson too. He was good when je was doing the alternative commentary on bbc also
  18. Was an ok race but there wasnt really much racing going on. that said there never is at monaco. If you want to watch some real racing check out the GT1 world championship. I have been watching this series for a couple of years now and its by far the best racing i've ever seen. The races all get uploaded to youtube now so they're much easier to watch. 2 GT1 races per event. i'm just watching the qualifying one now really good racing with constant battles all through the pack
  19. Did you ever put a slightly less hardcore kit together? I may be interested depending on price and how many hours it would take.
  20. After a stint with a lot of overtime at the start of this year i had a few grand in the bank and considered going down the supercharger route. After looking into it i decided that i didn't have nearly enough to do a propper SC conversion, even with a used supercharger kit. Spent the money on the best new tyres available, uporated brakes and i'm looking into some suspension and plan on spending the summer doing some more track days. So far i stand by my decision. You either need VERY deep pockets and get a reputable tuner to do everything for you, or moderately deep pockets, a full tool kit and some mechanical know-how. but if you think you can do it, by all means go ahead. you will be the envy of a lot of members on here, including myself.
  21. Yeah its going to be an expensive summer. But I'll worry about that when I'm skint. I'm gna put in for that days hokliday this afternoon. I'm on holiday from the friday after so I might blend it into a nice long break.
  22. http://book.easytrack.co.uk/car-track-day-bbr-oulton-park-brb-wednesday-20th-june-1162-p.asp might go on this one if i can get the day off
  23. I didn't relly lack confidence allthough the car did skip slightly on the crest on the exit of druids. think that's what the pic of my car is of. Allthough i have been looking into some different suspension setups recentyl
