  1. I've read that some people have experienced similar issues when the brakes haven't been used hard enough. A proper re-bedding in solving the problem. I also experienced this when I had my front discs and pads changed earlier in the year and didn't have a chance to get out on clear roads for a week or so.
  2. You've got some very specific and not so common requirements there. The closest I've seen are these on eBay: VOLK RACING RAYS GT C ALLOY WHEELS 5x114.3 10J 10.5J ET -15 DEEP DISH RIMS RARE
  3. I'm not familiar with current Apple stuff so can't really offer a comparison but for Windows it seems that the Dell XPS 13 gets good reviews so might be worth a look: Dell XPS 13
  4. Great looking car. Might be worth mentioning that tax for a year is only £290 and not the higher £505 that came in less than a week later.

    Wheel size?

Those tables don't specify tyre profile, wheel diameter or manufacturer which can all have an effect on what may be suitable. If you refer to either the Bridgestone Databook or the LVV Tyre Size to Rim Size Compatibility Guide they both suggest 9" as the maximum for a 245/45R18 tyre but 9.5" for a 245/40R18 tyre. I'm think some tyres are designed for more stretch, I have a feeling the Falken FK452 was one and I'm pretty sure quite a few people on here have put various brands on 9.5" without problems. If you're happy with a bit of stretch then maybe it'd be worth a try.

    Wheel size?

Your standard wheels are 8" front and rear. You can safely go to 8.5" with your 225/45 front tyres and 9" with your 245/45 rear tyres.
  7. I've got a Black & Decker rechargeable one similar to this: 12V Dustbuster Flexi Hand Vac. It's quite good and will last about 10 minutes on a charge before the suction drops off too much. It gets used around the house mainly and the flexible hose is great. Takes an age to charge though, first charge is 12 hours, so if you run out half way through you'll be waiting a long time to finish the job. For the money I paid you can now get similar Black & Decker ones with Lithium-Ion batteries like this one: 18V Lithium-ion Dustbuster Flexi Hand Vac, which I would expect to be much better.
  8. They've been around a while, I looked at getting one of their exhausts for my Mini R50 about 11 years ago.
  9. Don't think I've ever seen any for the standard wheels, you might be better off buying a set for Rays and if they don't fit then drill out the logos on your current set and the Z set and swap them over, gluing them back on.
  10. I agree, snow socks are only for emergencies. I tried to use them for a week as my commute was only about 2 miles each way including a steep hill, half of which was impassable snow covered roads. The problem you have is that they shred if used even on nearly snow-free tarmac for any distance at all which is why they say you should take them off, but of course where exactly is this clear, level and safe place for you to stop to do that once you're past the worst!? Where I used to live the taxis wouldn't run in snow either. I think the question really is how important is it for you to get to/from wherever it is.
  11. I've always had good results with summer Kumho tyres but I've not tried the winter ones. I guess it could come down to driving style, a torquey RWD may well be different if you're expecting to get the same traction as summer tyres in the dry. I use Hankook Winter i'cept evo (W310) in standard 18" sizes on my Zed which I've found brilliant although not tried them in anger when there's snow and ice yet. Had the same on a FWD previously and they amazed me in snow.
  12. Have you tried the KW27? My brother had them on his 3 Series (E92) and wasn't impressed but then he can be a bit heavy footed at times.
  13. I paid £666 (easy to remember ) for my Hankook winter tyres and will be switching over for the fifth winter sometime this month. I originally got them as every journey where I used to live involved a long steep hill and snow socks were a pain. These days I don't drive much but when I've got to get somewhere or back from wherever I happen to be then it's good to know I can regardless of the weather. Even if the weather doesn't get particularly bad, during the colder months I get to enjoy better braking and traction and also have the freedom to choose whichever tyre I want for summer. I'd say if you need to use the car and have the money and space to buy and store a second set of wheels then go for it.
  14. Yeah it was in great shape so z350convert got it fitted with his new Cobra Y-back, great result by all accounts.
  15. A lot of tyres including the MPSS have a tread pattern that looks different depending on the side of the car but they're not directional, just asymmetric so you needn't worry about matching sides.
  16. I don't have a great deal of experience but whenever I've measured rim widths they've come out about 1" wider than described due to the width of the rim edge itself. That would make yours 266.7mm front, 292.1mm rear. The R35 GT-R has the same rim widths and uses 255 front, 285 rear. If it was me I would go with your originally proposed tyre sizes.
  17. I asked for a shadow chrome and was shown about 12 different shades. Just went with darkest. Didnt want black as they seem to dissappear. The colour really pops in the sunlight I agree, they look much better than black. Have you considered getting some grey 40th Anniversary centre caps?
  18. Thanks mate. Stock suspension as far as I'm aware. Although I have to drive on to a block of wood to get the jack under Definitely my favourite standard height Zed then, the offsets on those wheels really suit that height. What colour did you ask for when you had the wheels refurbed?
  19. burgs, looks amazing, great colour combo. Are you lowered?
  20. I would consider selling my remaining two which I think are a bit worn but complete, however I think they might be slightly different to yours, mine look like this: If you're looking for options then these are the ProRacer FN01R-C ones which I'd be happy to sell, I think I have one with the lighter centre disc, the other three being darker (I think) but I'm sure could be recoloured somehow:
  21. As way of a better explanation, I'm thinking of getting my wheels painted in either shadow chrome (or whatever it is!) like the standard 370Z Rays or something similar to what they are currently which is HyperGunMetallic like in these photos but running without caps: The caps look okay but if I'm buying new caps I'd prefer something a bit less bling so ideally looking for caps that give a clean Vossen style look:
