I found this website a while back but not used them as I ended up buying a car without nav: http://www.satnav-updates.com/nissan-20-c.asp

Before this thread dies a death I thought I'd resuscitate with some absolutely stunning wheels from Rays, completely out of my league price-wise but worth mentioning I think: Volk Racing G12 Volk Racing G25 Gram Lights 57Xtreme

The car I saw was heading away from Stanley Hill, plus I have a petrol receipt from Hazelmere at 2:07 so to see you at 2:10 would mean driving at over twice the 50mph limit for over 5 miles which I'm pretty sure I didn't do. So I think you're right, it couldn't have been you then. I've had my car over a year and not been officially spotted either! I'll keep my eye out for you though as I'm driving between High Wycombe and Watford a fair bit at the moment. Strange that there would be three 350Zs in the same place within 10 minutes of each other.

I was in my Twilight Grey 350Z on the wide Amersham bypass bit heading towards Little Chalfont. Were you in your Azure? I'm pretty sure it was a Night Blue that was coming the other way but I might be wrong, I'd just overtaken a truck and a CRV so was moving pretty quick.
-
Passed a Night Blue 350Z on the A413 around 2:20 and another Gunmetal (I think) 350Z with a rear wing on the A404 at about 5:20. Was it you?

+ 1. With a good, reliable tentant. +1. Houses are cheap-ish at the moment so buy one in good condition and in a good town with plenty of suitable tenants. Doesn't have to be somewhere you'd consider living as you can always sell it when you want to buy your own place, or better still if it's in 5+ years you might be able to just use the equity to buy a second house to live in. Either way you'd be on the property ladder and have more chance of getting a nicer home for yourself and a better car in the future.

I bought a Sealey 1020LE 2 tonne low entry (http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=ViewProduct&method=mViewProduct&productid=15351) a few months ago just for changing wheels occasionally as it was only £41 from eBay. I can get it onto the rear jacking point (just) but no where near the front one, although I've not tried Sam Mcgoo's suggestion of behind the front wheel. For the price I'm very pleased with it but for regular use I'd have gone for something better with a longer reach and a proper jack pad.

Thanks docwra. I have exchanged a few emails with Kam at Driftworks already and he really rates them, but then he would. It does seem that nearly everyone is happy with whichever coilovers they've chosen so maybe I'm over thinking it a bit. The dual perch design of the HSD rear coilovers (and MeisterR Zeta-R) technically seems like a good idea as they don't reduce the travel of either the spring or damper despite lowering which makes sense to me. For the price of the HSD I think it would be hard to go wrong.

Do these come with Rays centre caps, hub rings, wheel nuts or valve stems? What condition are the allen bolts around the rim in, did the quote you got for refurb include refurbing or replacing them?
-
I know this is an old thread but thought it worth continuing instead of starting a new one as these are currently top of my list. Which HSD HR coilovers are being discussed here? I've noticed that the newer ones for the 350Z have a true coilover rear and spring rates of 14kg/mm front, 7kg/mm rear compared to 12kg/mm front, 11kg/mm rear of the older ones with the OEM inboard spring setup. The other options I'm considering are MeisterR Zeta-S (about £100 cheaper) with inboard spring and 10kg/mm front, 8kg/mm rear spring rates or MeisterR Zeta-R (about £100 more than HSD) with true coilover rear and 10kg/mm front, 5kg/mm rear. I'm wanting something for everyday and fast road driving with a drop of 15-20mm (maybe a touch more on the rear if it'll still clear speed bumps) and not considering any track time at the moment. I'm hoping to reduce body-roll, sharpen the handling a bit and if at all possible reduce the crashing over the rutted and pot hole strewn roads. Which of these will be most suitable? I've never bought coilovers before and don't know how relevant the spring rates are if the dampers are also different so it would be good to hear from anyone who has road experience with any of these. Also, what maintenance is required with these or are they just fit and forget like the standard dampers?

I believe the 18" Rays use a 60° taper seat nut with a M12x1.25 thread, i.e. 12mm diameter and 1.25mm pitch (distance between the threads). I've no idea where you'd get black ones though, I'd check McGard first if I was you as I think the OEM ones are made by them.

Yes I noticed those too, I particularly like the matt bronze but that's probably just me. I think the TSW Interlagos is also a very nice multi-spoke but not seen any pictures of either on a Zed:

I don't think it's the offset the op wants to alter but the actual spacing of the holes for the wheel studs. presume this means welding up the original holes and then re drilling. As Col said, not sure I would want these on my car. Sorry, I didn't quite make myself very clear. The spacers I mentioned do change the PCD hole spacing the OP asked for but because they take the form of bolt-on spacers they won't be suitable if the wheels already have a low offset. If you have BMW wheels with offsets of around +40 then adding a 20mm or 25mm spacer that does the 5x114.3 to 5x120 adaption would be perfect, but if the wheel offset was only +20 then the adapters could cause the wheels to stick out too far or rub on the arches. I've changed my original post to include better links which will hopefully explain what I'm talking about.
-
H&R do hub adapters for this purpose which are basically just spacers so if the offset of the wheels you're looking at is fairly high they could be a better option. A quick Google turned up a number of suppliers including Larkspeed for 20mm and 25mm: H&R Hub / PCD Adapter With 20 mm Spacer - Nissan > BMW H&R Hub / PCD Adapter With 25 mm Spacer - Nissan > BMW.

To me those look quite similar to the Avant Garde M368.
-
I think I read they were made by HRE. With sensible tyres on a decent car they would look seriously .
-
I'm really liking all three styles you showed but waiting until later in the year could prove difficult! To give me an idea, what do the 18" ones weigh in comparison to Rays?
-
I've liked the 5ZIGENs since seeing photos of Pimm's car but don't know much about them. Are they easy to get hold of or do they have to be imported? Do you know what they weigh or how much a set costs?
-
I did look at Rota being a popular option around these parts but couldn't see that any of the multi-spoke styles are available in 19". Am I right?
-
It does doesn't it! I have done a fair bit of Googling and made some enquiries as they're high on my list but no I don't work for them. Honest.
-
I think the Forgestars are around 10kg for 19" so not really light but not too bad either. Forgestar are custom in terms of offsets and finish I believe. Build time is 6-8 weeks.
-
That's good, at least I'm not the only one! Three people so far who have a set of multi-spokes and a handful of others who just like looking. Three votes for the HRE ones on the white 370Z, although at £5k+ (from what I've seen anyway) before tyres they're not going to be cheap. What is it people like about them? Is it the finish on the wheels, the style of the wheels, the stance, the body kit, the colour or just the whole combination? If/when I decide to buy I'm more likely to go for something like the Forgestar because I don't want the hassle of looking after split-rims, polished lips and the like, plus at around £1500 for a set of forged 19" they are considerably cheaper than a lot of others. Apparently when asked if it was a copy of another wheel Forgestar said it was inspired by the wheels on a Merc SLS.
-
I've been looking for some decent 19" wheels and noticed that most forum members go for 5 spoke designs, why is that? I'm really liking some of the new OEM multi-spoke spoke designs, check out these: Porsche Boxster Audi RS4 Kia Track'ster Obviously they're not for zed fitment but these aftermarket rims certainly are: Forgestar CF10 HRE P43SC 5ZIGEN ProRacer ZR+520 What do people think? Anyone else considering some like these?

I travelled quite a distance to go there and see an 07 plate 350Z in Azure with around 20k about a year ago and was very disappointed. He said it was unmarked apart from a couple of light scuffs, one on a bumper, one on the rear arch. One careful lady owner, always garaged, etc. Sounded very genuine and honest on the phone so I went to see it. When I got there the mileage wasn't what he'd said, he seemed to struggle with the service history by saying things like "If you're not going to buy the car why do you need to see it?", the car itself had a fair few stone chips on the front and headlights, a small dent right on the shoulder crease on one side, there was evidence of a fair amount of paint damage on the roof and bonnet that looked like it was from birds or tree sap or something. I also recognised it as a car I'd noticed on eBay in South Wales previously that I didn't go to see because it didn't look like a particularly good one. When I was there the guy became a typical car salesman and got quite rude and abrupt. His attitude was that someone would pay the money because it was a very late Azure and that all cars have paint damage like that. It clearly wasn't the always garaged, one careful owner car he was advertising and wasn't the good example he (and the price) had led me to believe. I actually took my brother along who was a trained BMW salesman for a while and we know what we're looking at and we both agreed he wasn't to be trusted and something just didn't add up. I eventually bought a much nicer 57 plate for around the same money from someone far more genuine. Don't waste your time.
