  1. I think you're right on the greys, Gun Metal before the 2007 model, Twilight Grey on the 313PS model from 2007 onwards. The paint code for my Twilight is the same as Carbon Silver in the US, which is odd.
  2. I bought a decent set of 3mm spacers a while back when I was considering a different set of wheels. Here's my original post about them: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=56042 I haven't fitted them yet except for a quick test, just holding onto them until some 19" wheels appear that catch my eye in case they're needed.
  3. Not looked too closely at Rota before, I guess I assumed that as they do a lightweight range that at least some would be forged. Still sounds promising though. What widths and colours have you got coming?
  4. I saw some of those appear on eBay US and wondered how long it would be before you mentioned them. I think they look great and would love a set at the right price if it wasn't for the fact they they only seem to list them in a more aggressive offset and front width than I'm looking for. Do you know if they're likely to do a silver in a 8.5 or 9x19 +20 and 9.5 or 10x19 +20 (or +25) anytime soon? Also, any idea how much they weigh or if they're forged?
  5. Great result, really looking forward to seeing some photos of these much discussed wheels once you're up and running with the new tyres. Coincidentally my brother has just bought a set of KU31 as well for his 3-Series based on Neilp's recommendation.
  6. I read somewhere on another forum that a coupe on OEM 18" wheels/tyres has a wheelarch height of 683mm at the front and 706mm at the rear. It's 1mm lower at the rear if you have a roadster.
  7. I would say you have three options: 1. 235/35 and 265/35, good ratio front to rear, best match for front wheel, rear tyre will have a bit of stretch. 2. 235/35 and 275/35, no so good ratio but confirmed to work by Neilp, best match for front wheel, best match for rear wheel. 3. 245/35 and 275/35, good ratio front to rear, a little bulbous on the front wheel, best match for rear wheel. The choice is yours, I would go with option 3 as I don't mind a bit of extra tyre on the front and it's the most common setup but I'm sure others would choose differently. Whichever one you choose I doubt you'll notice much difference visually as the differences are all fairly small really. Why not see what the prices and availability of the four different sizes are and go from there if you can't decide?
  8. +1. If you want to keep the front tyres then I'd suggest a pair of 255/35R19 on the rear, it won't make your speedo any more accurate but I think it would be you're best chance of sorting out any TC problems. The sizes you have now are quite popular on BMW 3-Series (E90 but maybe others) so if it was me I'd try and sell all four on PistonHeads and get some new 245/35R19 and 275/35R19 instead.
  9. This is an old thread discussing true rear coilovers, unfortunately without any conclusions based on running them long term: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=43743
  10. A couple more multi-spoke designs I've been looking at recently: Vossen VVS CV1 Vertini Magic
  11. I can see how they might divide opinion, they have so many polished spokes that they have an almost disc like quality. The style makes them look like they're 20", not 19", are you running less than 35 profile tyres? The INOVIT website says they're ultra lightweight but doesn't give any figures that I could find, do you know how much they weigh? They remind me a bit of the Tenzo-R Concept-10 and Type-M:
  12. I asked this question when I had my coilovers fitted the other week and was told that which wheels you have, with or without spacers will make no difference to the alignment. However, if you change the wheels the ride height may change a bit due to the difference in diameter of the wheel/tyre combo and if that then leads you adjust the ride height on the coilovers then you would need to align again. For example, if you replace the standard front wheels and 225/45R18 tyres with 19" front wheels using 245/35R19 tyres then the diameter would reduce by nearly 6mm, so the car would be 3mm closer to the ground and you'd have 3mm more gap under the arch. That's all fine unless you then drop the car another 3mm to lose the arch gap, or raise another 3mm to restore the ground clearance.
  13. They have been mentioned before, see this thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59354

    R35 GTR Alloys

I looked at getting these wheels when there was a set for sale on here but decided 20" was just too big for me, then I looked at the 19" G37 wheels for a while as they are similar but smaller, unfortunately they were cast so a bit heavy and even rarer it seems than the R35 ones. I'm now looking at getting some aftermarket forged multispokes of some sort once the financial pain of getting coilovers fitted wears off! I can't remember who it was that had them but I have a feeling they were running 275/35R20 front and 315/35R20 rear which I think would probably be too chunky for someone lowered 30mm. They had 20mm spacers on the front I believe.

    R35 GTR Alloys

I think you would want something like 255/30R20 on the front and 285/30R20 on the rear although I expect you'd be safe going 10mm wider or narrower as well depending on the look you're after and/or what's available. Are you thinking of putting 20 or 25mm spacers on the front to bring them out to the arch?
  16. I had some HSDs fitted last week but only just seen this thread. The bushes failing doesn't worry me too much as they can hopefully be replaced fairly easily should the need arise. Damage to the top mounts or movement of the inner wing doesn't sound so good though. Neither Driftworks or Jez at Horsham Developments where they were fitted mentioned any of these potential issues but then they aren't a common choice it seems.
  17. That's what I figured. I'm glad I went for coilovers now as they're better than standard for everything. Tein springs may seem like a cheap option but if I'd have paid out for fitting and alignment costs just to discover they didn't offer what I was looked for I'd have been very disappointed. With coilovers I'm not wondering if I made the right choice, definitely made the right decision.
  18. Seems everyone is so happy with their Tein springs that no-one is selling. Nevermind, I had some new HSD coilovers fitted this week so it's all good.
  19. I don't think there was much if any difference between the '07, '08 or '09 models, you can download a copy of the 2008 brochure from here which shows what's on the GT: Nissan 350Z Electronic Brochure Shows on page 12 that even the non-GT has all six airbags, which is nice.
  20. I had to give way at a mini-roundabout to a 56 plate black 350Z Roadster on Hatter's Lane/Totteridge Lane around 6pm yesterday. I think I also saw the same car at the Esso station on Amersham Road about an hour or so earlier along with a very shiny white R35 GT-R filling up. Was also followed there by a grey R33 Skyline, was like a Nissan day out.
  21. Thanks spawn, when I read this I turned around and went and did something else instead as I was quite a way behind you. If I hadn't I think I could have been waiting another 3 hours or whatever. Lucky I hadn't pre-booked so I didn't lose anything other that the experience of my first Japfest. Hope the wait was worth it for all those who made it. I was pretty disappointed, I've been to a fair few motorsport and club events and never had a queue that bad.
  22. I've been stuck on the A350 for nearly an hour and still queuing. I would suggest coming off at junction 18 if you can. Anyone know what the problem is?
  23. I bought one of these from Tarmac (http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=794612) and fitted it to my 313 no problem, if that helps?
  24. Have to say I've been very bad, had my 57 plate Twilight Grey Zed for over a year and not properly introduced myself or posted pictures either. I've steered clear of the Nissan main dealers and used Ross at Japex Performance in Kings Langley for all my Zed servicing and maintenance which I have been very pleased with. There's a 10% discount for forum members too, check out their introduction here: An Introduction from Japex
  25. Welcome to the forum m1ke. When you've got a minute why not post an introduction with some pictures in the Welcome section here: Introductions & Welcome Messages Where do you live, am I likely to see more of your car around High Wycombe?
