Some cracking updates here guys!

I was thinking of doing some sort of auto based coasters but struggled with parts to use. Im open to ideas

Started this project when I first bought my Zed as Keyser just happened to have an engine block 'laying around' well, he actually had 2!! With a long break in the middle, I am finally finished! I've had the block powder coated hyper silver with all top faces mirror polished. There are 3 feet down each side which are cut down engine valves which are proving to be more than stable enough. I ran into a problem with my initial choice of pistons and rods as they cracked! So again, Keyser just happened to have a some pistons and rods in the scrap metal pile! I acquired these and sent the pistons away for polishing, and had the rods powder coated. The end plan for this was to include some 'under car table' LEDs, which left the challenge of where to run the LEDs, where to hide the wires, and where to mount the switch. Most of this was done by creating a Stainless Steel plate to cover the water pump area on the side of the block. I designed this up and a local company cut it out for me. So a quick montage of pics below of the build, and the final results are below. I am chuffed with it and will take pride of place in the new house (if we ever find one!). Will put up some pics later when its dark of the LEDs

Thanks mate, just found some freeware Shutter count is 16,822, which is lower than I expected TBH. Google suggests that the 50D (along with lots of Canon) have a shutter life of 100,000. So on paper this camera has over 80% of its life left. I'm looking forward to playing with the 7D Neil as I quite fancy trying my hand at video editing.

Thanks guys. I don't know the shutter count but a colleague of mine has software that will tell me, he is back in work tomorrow / Tuesday so will update then I upgraded to the 7D MK1 as the price was right

Evening folks, Been a long time! I keep lurking in the background here keeping an eye on things. We are currently looking to buy our first house, after that I shall be car shopping for a replacement to the daily! Who knows, I may be back soon Anyway, down to business. I am selling my Canon 50D (Body only) due to a recent upgrade. The 50D was my first DSLR and has served me well for 2 years now, very good camera in great condition. Ideal upgrade for anyone using a hundred body Canon, or someone looking to get into photography (just add a lens). Included in the sale is the below. Canon 50D with original box, instructions and CDs All cables Battery charger Sandisk Ultra II 2GB CF card 6 batteries - (3 very recent Hanhel's (very good), 1 Canon and 2 unbranded which don't hold much charge) Unbranded Battery grip, I wasn't a fan of this it has seen very limited use I am looking for £200 including UK delivery, or collection from Ferndown. This camera has a mild claim to fame as it has been featured in the past 2 Zed calendars.

That some great results for a 50mm and tubes. I was mixed between getting extension tubes or close up filters for my 50mm, in the end I went for close up filters. I'm with stoopid! Who you calling stoopid?

Nagging got too much so I had to clean the garage over the weekend. Wheels are now re-cleaned and taking pride of place in the garage for someone to buy

Great pics mate, love the one in front of the building with the colour fade. Like the name of your new venture too watermark could be a bit smaller, but that's something I am forever changing for my photography group too, bigger, then smaller etc.

White wheels dude, will look sweet Wheels looks good, what are they mate, please? I just found them on Google but they look like Rota Grids to me, not 100% though. Still sat in the garage will, hopefully they go soon as I am being nagged out to clean the garage
