Thanks for all the offers, none of which fit the description. GT edition has subtle modifications in various areas such as suspension, sound proofing and internal trim. IMOA this model is worth waiting for.

Having now sold my 350 I am in the market for Pearl white GT Edition with less than 20000 miles on. Prefer mint condition full service history, Cash buyer MONEY WAITING for the right car. Anybody waiting for spring before selling give me a shout.

May 2011 onwards for GT editions. The 2010 car on websites for sale at the moment on Birmingham, I have viewed. Asking top money but wheels are damaged with flaking paint, front tyres are perished and the service book is not up to date. Nissan sales staff tried to sell to me as a genuine GT edition. All very embarrassing when I pointed out it was impossible to be a genuine GT edition.

Part of my business is Motorsport based and I have customers in the Production BMW series. It is a relatively cost effective series to run in, there are cars at the front spending up to the budget you mentioned but most of the field are not spending heavily. The series runs Marangoni tyres and 1set will last the season, as with any form of Motorsport winning will cost, taking part and running around midfield is achievable on a sensible budget. Did you know there is a new Mazda mx5 budget series starting this year, 5 club racing organised by Alyn Robson. £5000 will buy a competitive car. The other formula that may interest you is the Lowcost Champs, plenty of cars to race , cars around £4000, Yokohama road tyres, low entry fees, restricted mods so don't need a big budget to be competitive. I have plenty of contacts, so just shout if I can help.

Fairly important piece of metal, its got to hold the wheels on under immense stress. Buy the best to save problems in other areas such as brakes. Aluminium comes in many grades Eibech use aircraft spect He15 the best.

Curious to what people do as a job in relation to having a zed
Marcus01 replied to Zhorno's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I specialise in solving brake judder issues in high end sports cars (Disc skimmers ltd) I also shave tyres for motorsport with my unique self designed and built machine (Midland Tyre shaving ltd) I also manage a 3 lake match fishery (Headfen lakes ltd) My z is used to visit race tracks at the weekends and a for recreational fun when not working. -
I run a coarse match fishery as one of my businesses and match fish weekly at this time of the year. 10 years ago I was a sponsored semi pro traveling the uk. Last 3 matches has seen me put 137lb, 97lb and 65lb on the scales to win around £200. Check out Headfen lakes in Cambridgeshire on the web.

I recommend reds to a lot of my customers who run various high performance sports vehicles and none have ever suffered from overheating. Spirited road use will give no overheating issues and no low speed squeal. Yellow and blue stuff are metallic based pads and will know doubt be better placed on track but will not eliminate the low speed squeal the op is looking to solve.
-
Ebc Red ceramic pads has solved the low speed squeal on my 350 and the stopping power is good. As a rule I don't rave about Ebc products but the Red ceramics are the best product they do by far.

I will take them for £50 inc postage.

Thanks guys. I only get to drive my car occasionally for drives upto 100 miles, with a fair amount of A roads. I now know I need to budget for extras just to get the car more suitable for me to enjoy or look elsewhere.

Having had a 350z for a year now I have recently looked at a 370 to the point I booked myself a test drive yesterday. The car was completely standard 2010 gt model. It was a 30 minute test on A roads in Norfolk. I was disappointed with the car for the following reasons. The car tramlined terribly pulling left then right depending on the road surface. The car has no exhaust sound whatso ever. The cabin felt dark due to the black headlining. My questions are the tyres were well worn. Is that the reason it tramlined bad or is this normal. Do all 370 have the black headlining in all cars. What exhaust does the 370 need to get a similair tune to my 350 with a milltek and induction kit fitted. Does the sound system have any speakers in the rear like the 350. The syncro rev must be a better feature if you could here anysort of exhaust sound. The torquey power was nice but the car felt like an unruly fast quiet armchair and not like a tunefull heavy go cart like the 350. Are the 2 cars really that different.

If your obsessive compulsive god only knows what I am On arrival back home from Saturdays meet I noticed some water splash marks around the wheel arch after driving a bit of slightly damp road and had to remove and polish before putting the car away. My z is definitely a sticky fingered child free zone. A small diameter clear rubber tube is excellant for removing such items.

Help Needed: Brembo Inner pads wearing faster than Outer Pads
Marcus01 replied to Oz Striker's topic in Brakes
I am sure Europarts do some good quality items. Spending good money rather than skimping is my point Discs and pads can save your butt so always buy the best IMHO. -
Help Needed: Brembo Inner pads wearing faster than Outer Pads
Marcus01 replied to Oz Striker's topic in Brakes
The back plate as you call it is a shim to help reduce brake squeal. They are usually stuck on. If you buy pads without this shim clean up the old ones coat in copper slip to help it stay in place as you put the retaining pins in. Better to use an old shim than no shim at all. My advice is to avoid Europarts. Cheap and cheerfull in my book means do it twice. -
Help Needed: Brembo Inner pads wearing faster than Outer Pads
Marcus01 replied to Oz Striker's topic in Brakes
Any corrosion build up difference on the disc face will give excessive wear. Todays brake technology is for discs to be a soft surface and pads to be a hard surface. Any corrosion is a harder surface than a nice shiny disc so will have a different wear rate. In my experience any corrosion/black scale build up will just eat the pads. Your picture showing a corroded wide band on the inner face tells me there is limited braking in this area but plenty of pad wear putting more load into the area which is clean this will increase the wear. With no wear lip showing on the disc an on car disc skim will bring the surfaces back to equal braking efficiency, even pad wear and optimal performance. multiple piston calipers are designed to enhance brake performance and keep pad pressure equal eliminating unequal pad wear associated with single piston calipers. -

Does the inside face of the disc look black coloured compared to the shiny steel look of the outer face of the disc. -
I will have them.
