  1. I met a guy once who had done over 140,000 miles in an S1 Elise with the origninal S1 seats and he looked as if he could still walk around ok
  2. What a pain. Good luck with getting it sorted out.
  3. It may be a minor point but the Berks HFCs are significantly lighter than the OEM cats.
  4. I wonder whether it might be worth trying a lighter (less orangy) shade of gold a la the original Lotus 72.
  5. Well you helped me because I didn't know about the speed camera satnav issue
  6. As a leaving present from work I was given a Palmer Motorsport Experience Day thingy - Formula Palmer Audi, JP2, Evo 6, Caterham, Go-kart, Clio Racer, etc, etc. One of the drives was a 350z. It was in monsoon conditions, the tracks had to be closed a couple of times, so I spent most of my laps sideways with occassional sorties onto the grass, about which they seem to be totally relaxed. From that point on I wanted one but did not achieve it until a couple of years ago
  7. Nice one. It's easy to get drawn in. You have established the priorities that matter to you and that is the most important thing. Good luck with it all.
  8. For just a second there I thought perhaps you had decided to revert to a 350Z
  9. Hopefully it will all be sorted without having to consider anything drastic - but occasionally they come up on ebay like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221005633214?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1180wt_1270
  10. Great stuff. Many thanks for sorting it out
  11. First all of it helps if you decide which hymn you want to sing
  12. Whilst I don't disagree with what others have said about stop, handle, go; this is all relative. It depends what you want to do with the car. If it's going to be exclusively for road use there is an argument that it stops and handles more than adequately for that purpose. The other issue is budget and if that's an issue there is an argument for the "gain per pound spent" approach. The standard exhaust may not be the finest piece of engineering but it will take more power and makes an acceptably nice noise. If you wanted to put a toe in the "performance improvement" water there is an argument that the most noticeable improvement per £ spent might well be a Plenum Spacer and UpRev re-map. A significant part of the cost of the re-map is the licence. Once you have the licence you would only have to pay for dyno time in the future if you were to add more bits at a later date. If you wanted improved noise (but at a slight penalty to ultimate bhp) one could argue that a JWT Pop Charger (an air induction kit - very easy fit DIY) will give you that for a modest outlay. So firstly you need to decide: What you want to use the car for What budget you have in, say, year 1 Depending on the answers, this will suggest one direction or another.
  13. Well done. It sounds like money well spent.
  14. Yes - they are great If it would only stop raining I'll put the roof down and enjoy them even more
