    Trax 2012

    Interesting photos
  3. Just me but I would cut my losses and go to Abbey or other known expert. None of this sounds right. They didn't follow the correct power steering procedure to ensure the steering wheel ended up straight and they don't appear to be offering any sort of explanation for these extensive differences - in particular for one side versus the other.

    Up rev?

My economy has increased by about 1.5 mpg and it does eliminate the lazy throttle response mapped in as standard in the first 3 gears. The benefits feel significantly more than the headline numbers would suggest.
  5. Sorry to hear about the wheel. I am probably being boring but I like the standard colour.
  6. 17s 2nd hand wheels are dirt cheap. I managed to get wheels and tyres 2nd hand (by condition almost as new). Worth a try.
  7. This morning at 7.45 near Reigate Hill
  8. I also use the Kumho winter tyres on JDM 17s and it is a very significant benefit.
  9. Interesting write up Last did Airfield (Abingdon?) many years ago. Was testing a 309Gti tarmac rally car - but the brakes weren't up to it - then the power steering threw fluid out and I had smoke pouring out from around the disks - then I received a phone call to say that my mother-in-law had backed my other car across the drive and ploughed into the side of my house - then it rained - then I got home and managed to get a prolapsed disk attempting to drag the car out of the house. Happy days. They always seem to throw in one of those really extreme hairpins.
  10. That doesn't sound right. Are there any warning lights up on the dashboard?
  11. using v max unleaded and that is as far as my mechanical skills go so got no hope of checking my intake pipes !! . It's a little difficult to judge on the detail given. If it's a brief hesitation that could be because of the way the standard car is programmed to have a lazy throttle response in the first 3 gears and an uprev re-map would help that (the car doesn't use a throttle cable - you pushing the throttle simply send a signal and the ECU then tells the engine/fuelling what to do). Equally, if you have some sort of after-market air filter, which is open to the elements inside the engine bay (ie. not inside a box)you can get some heat soak which can make the car hesitate when you put your foot down (that can be particularly noticeable in hot weather). If it's a really noticeable coughing and spluttering that would need to be looked into more. Good luck.
  12. and good luck with finding the right car.
  13. Good news ..... well re the car anyway
