  1. Sorry to hear about the accident and
  2. I find all this deeply disturbing...what happened to Mivis and Kia-Ora?
  3. In the last few weeks of his life I took my Dad out in a Caterham 7 and floored it going over the top of Epsom Downs. He was 79 and terminally ill at the time. He laughed and said " well that was exhilarating". Many years earlier he had been in charge of East Surrey's police traffic department! It did take quite an effort to get him back out of the car again....he wasn't that mobile by then. I'm sure your Mum will love it.
  4. Mods - would you kindly close this thread now. The Acceleras are going to the big tyre place in the sky and the other 2 are being otherwise disposed of.
  5. Even though I have a roadster and I love it, my inclination would be to keep the coupe. I have been relatively lucky with my roof so far but I think it may be inevitable, with age, that problems develop some time...and we know they are not easy to solve. Just a thought.
  6. Good luck. From what you have said it ought to be ok....just need to give it time.
  7. It's definitely worth changing the fluid first and adding something like Molyslip - and he will be able to supply what you need. Some owners have noticed a dramatic difference from doing this.
  8. Sorry I don't know anything about sourcing cosmetic mods but I'm sure someone will be along in a minute who knows.

    Winter Tyre Size

If you drop the rears to 45 with the fronts at 50 on those sizes the rolling radii won't match up back to front and I would have thought that would have given you TC problems. And just to back up what Dblock said - I have 17s with winter tyres on now - with Brembos.
  10. I'm sure you are right Neil....I'll see how I get on and if necessary pursue the ultimate option (Rays/MPSS). I ran out of budget this year and the 17s with nearly new tyres on only cost me £165...so it seems worth a try.

    Hot cop cars

I prefer these cop cars to the 1500GT Cortinas and 2.5PIs that my Dad used to roll around in. Having said that....at the time I thought they were seriously cool
  12. The only thing is I might put my back out - I will do Pilates throughout the winter in preparation
  13. I've tried the standard 18s and the Rays with Bridgestone RE050As. However, despite being heavier than the Rays I much prefer the whole feel of the 17 JDMs and with the winter tyres on So.. that got me thinking about 17s and softer tyres....so I have acquired another set of very cheap JDM 17s and am going to try Avon ZZ3s. I have always had a leaning towards Avons from past cars - yes I know they are soft, I know the wear rate will be bad, I know the Z is a heavy car and I know some people say they are not that clever....but... in the past I have always liked the feel of them and the high levels of predictability and I want the better bump absorption afforded by the higher profile tyres. I even quite like the look of them on the 17s - how sad is that I will report back when they go on the car in the spring... not that I think there will be a queue of people going down this route I've kept the Rays etc..just in case I have barked up the wrong tree.
  14. Now free if collected from my garage in Coulsdon. I won't go lower than this - i.e. I won't pay someone to take them away I am offering them here for a few days but will then auction on Ebay at very low starting prices. Would much rather they did a service for a forum member.
