  1. Citroen 2CV - Minimalist - Amusing - Surprising capability if you understand the laws of momentum - Infinitely flexible space - all seats come out in seconds - roof rolls right back - can carry anything - Ideally suited for condition of Surrey roads - can take unexpected short cuts without ill effects - Has features which provide fun for onlookers/passengers - fold up windows - cranking wheel to open ventilation flap - loud clicking indicators (no light) - cornering attitude at speed appears to defy law of physics - Can thrash it all day long with no ill effects - Very comfortable - good steering, ride and brakes (if later inboard disks) - Stress free - you just sit back and relax (well it's a bit noisy but you can't have everything)
  2. Second vote for FSO Polonez...words fail me.... and doubly embarrassing because my Dad bought one.
  3. I would add: - a high level of ability to multi-task without brain overload - an ability to control emotion - consistent level of precision (not just F1) - they can read ambient conditions/surfaces very well - fast decision making (high self-confidence)
  4. You kindly let my son-in-law's "just married" sister out of a turning to go across Henley Bridge. I was behind her in an ancient Toyota. It was a shiny black 53 coupe with a spoiler on it.

Thank you very much whoever you are and also to the team generally
  6. Been on a few... some too short to be worthwhile. Best ones were whole day at Bedford/Palmer - 7 or 8 different cars and the Higgins family forest rally school. Depends a lot on instructors.
  7. Probably not. 39 in 40 years (first 5 cost £165 in all!). Most of them were bought for peanuts out of boredom. Many should not be mentioned in polite company. Many so called "good deals" weren't ... in fact only about 6 of them were. Only a couple were new.
  8. Dblock: - by saying don't argue the toss the message to me was don't argue at all but it derives from cricket i.e.. there is no point in arguing the way the coin has fallen
  9. - don't put your elbows on the table - don't argue the toss - don't forget raise your cap to Mr Turnbull (neighbour who left house at same time I did) - don't do as I do; do as I tell you - shoulders back, head up, stomach in, chest out (when walking) - there's no such word as can't - don't talk with your mouth full - find me someone who drops litter and I will find you a criminal - don't drop your H's Just to be going on with. As an aside....one of the rules at my school was that you couldn't take a bike to school until you could swim 25 yards
  10. With all due deference to current owners I am hoping that 2nd hand ones come down more....not in my budget yet I am going to see if I can try one or two out during the course of this year with the possibility of buying a Coupe version next summer if I like it. Also keeping an open mind as to an auto.
  11. Damn it....didn't know this was on and am elsewhere. I really like Lydden Hill because you can see all the track if you sit in the right place. I normally go at least once a year for the Rallycross but this would probably be good fun also. Hope you have a good time.
