  1. Finally - a mod for my old Corollas - in stock and good to go same day?
  2. This may be how to do it http://www.drivecult.com/videos/uwe-alzen-laps-nurburgring-vln-course-in-802418
  3. Similarly there were a small number of people in the Caterham community who used to be somewhat derogatory towards Westfield owners.....albeit that was more comments re "bath tubs" and the like... the Westfield having more GRP content.
  4. But at the end of the drive you will still have all your teeth and spinal disks in place.
  5. I'm not sure how to answer that question. It's like when I see a Caterham and for a fleeting moment I want to do it all again. It doesn't help that I don't have a garage now. I used to use the S1 throughout the year but had a bit of a scary moment on black ice....fortunately the lightness of the car proved to be a big asset because I scrubbed of speed very quickly through the grass and bracken and no serious harm was done but I never quite felt the same again. It was mainly my fault because I overreacted and managed to add lift off oversteer into the equation. I had also "uprated" the suspension which was a big mistake...I should have left it as it came out of the factory. I had no issues with reliability, just minor niggles, which could be solved by aftermarket parts. In the right conditions the speed you could maintain on bendy roads defied logic. I put the later seats in and found them to be very comfortable. But if an Evora ever came down in price enough? Who knows
  6. Will watch with interest
  7. The only thing about the S1 at the limit is that I didn't find it anything like as controllable as the Caterham. I think the VX220 has a longer wheelbase which probably helps. I'm sure it was just me not understanding how to get the best out of a mid-engined car (with a bit of a rearward bias in the case of the S1). I don't think I ever quite developed the level of confidence needed. In the Caterham you felt like you could do anything - it was very forgiving - but it's probably because I'm an old git. So - yes I'm sure some expert input would have been very helpful.
  8. If I could single out one thing that my S1 had that I have not bettered it was the steering. The Caterham SS was probably on a par. I assume the 220 has similarly wonderful steering (almost as if the front wheels are part of your body)?
  9. Sorry - I know it's not Zed related but am I right in thinking that the Europa was basically a re-clothed VX220? Even though I can understand why they didn't sell well, I actually found the idea of a slightly softer, slightly bigger car quite appealing and some of the issues like the engine mapping were resolved by after market suppliers. This also applied to the Elise - improved gearshift linkages, pedal bushes, etc, etc.
  10. Always liked them and I sometimes wondered whether I would have found it a little easier to live with than the Elise.
  11. Heading into Coulsdon from Hooley and waved
  12. Borrowed one for a day. Excellent car

Don't forget you have to carry a Breathalyser now...since last year I think.
  14. Very interesting feedback about the 370
  15. Many thanks. We are just working out when we might go. Plan now is sometime around our Ruby Wedding Anniversary in September - thus avoiding Plages - maybe a fraction quieter and cooler. If I make a directional decision when driving I stick by it right or wrong thus living to fight another day. Driving Caterhams and the like you have to work on the assumption that people can't see you so it's good practice
